AC/DC “Power up” tour dates…

Post by Tail of a hurricane »

I like that there finally touring, but I’m worried that there’s too many dates and if Brian can handle it. Still what do I know, he could be in great form. Nevertheless, Chris Cheney is confirmed the bassist.
I honestly thought they’d tour behind a new album, considering “Power up” is nearly 3 years old.

Too many dates? Two London dates and that's it in the UK. Think I'll save my money.

Well since Power Up was released in Nov 2020 when there was no touring and they didn't try to the next year or in 2022 , touring now in support of it still fine because they are AC/DC.

My guess they do these 21 dates European dates then have a US tour later in the fall.

Wembley Stadium, 'limited view' seat: £96, bargain!

Wish they were playing arenas but I guess that's the price you pay for being super popular, 2 nights at Wembley Stadium is the equivalent of 20 nights at the O2.

I would have gone if they had played Manchester, UK - but London return on the train from North Wales is over £200, plus a hotel for the night and tickets just make that too much for me.

I guess Dublin may be cheaper from here.

Same. Had they played Mcr, would've made the effort to go but I ain't travelling to London. Guess my last DC show (with Axl) was my last AC/DC show.

Does anyone else find it odd that their tour is named after an album that was released 4 years ago?

Not really. It's just the way they do things.

AC/DC are hitting the road for the first time in eight years. The hard rock band announced a European stadium tour Monday morning that kicks off May 17 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and wraps up August 17 in Dublin, Ireland.

It’s a new lineup of AC/DC featuring drummer Matt Laug, who played with the group during their one-off Power Trip performance last year, and former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney “carrying the torch” for bassist Cliff Williams.

It’s unclear if AC/DC’s Power Up tour will head to America after the European run. It’s also unclear if Williams and Rudd are out of the band or just standing on the sidelines for this one run. But fans have waited a long time to see AC/DC in any form, and this is going to be a huge tour.

Delighted. There's a lot of bands skipping Ireland on their European tours this year with rumours of the promotors here trying to hold artists to ransom. Croke Park is ten minutes on the bus for me.A Saturday too. Now let's hope I can get a ticket.

Just over 3 years actually, but yes I agree. They had enough material for 2 albums. Why not just release Power up 2, then tour?

Or better yet, give the tour a different name, since Power Up was probably their final album.

What’s the benefit of booking all the Germany dates?
Are they cheaper or something?

Looks like the two Wembley Stadium dates will sell out pretty quickly, just heard of someone that is currently in position 38,000 on Ticketmaster's website.

They added 3 more shows to the tour all 3 are 2nd shows to the same venue.
Jun. 01 - Seville, Spain - La Cartuja Stadium
Jun. 19 - Dresden, Germany - Rinne
Aug. 04 - Hannover, Germany - Messe

Now a total of 24 dates no doubt with these shows selling great they will do a US tour.

Thrres was 31,000 ahead of me when I logged on a few minutes before they went on sale. It took 40 minutes before I actually got in to purchase.
