OK Kiss, it's finally time to do it -----

Post by redinthesky » Fri Feb 14, 2020 10:42 am

....you brought back "Tears Are Falling," IMO an excellent song, now put your money where your mouth is. You say the door is open for guests on stage? It's really time to finally get Bruce Kulick up there. Do it in a big market so more people in the crowd have a chance of knowing who he is, and if you have to explain for twenty seconds, then do it. If you can have Joe Perry on stage for "Strutter" numerous times (I think?), then you can have Bruce, the guy who been super-loyal towards the band since day one, up there for a spot. And it should happen in an arena, not on the cruise.

Plus, it would make some headlines for the rock websites, and it would show goodwill and generate positive buzz for Kiss. I mean c'mon, it's really about time.

Completely agree. Bruce deserves this.

Why is Bruce wearing a Vinnie Vincent bandana, by the way?

I can't think of a single legitimate reason for them NOT to do it.
And yes--ideally this would be at some "regular" shows, for those of us who are not into cruises.

While the KISS guitarist I’d most like to see back up on stage with them is Ace, I do have to admit seeing Bruce up there with them would be very cool AND it’s a pretty safe play for Gene and Paul with upside potential.

Everyone has to realize the elephant in the room, is the phony lipping. They have to acknoweldge all that to invite anyone up onstage. This is a phony show. Gotta protect it

Yeah, sadly.

I wasn't trying to be a smart ass, it's just the way things are.

A jam with a former member could work on a Gene song. With Paul the recorded vocals issues is just too hard to work around.

People have to realize this isnt as easy as say the Scorpions inviting Uli up onstage to jam. This is a phony show. Alot has to be considered. Sad? hell yes! But this is what Kiss is now.

This is NOT the band that graced the Coventry stage on January 30, 1973. Too bad, so many people don't care!

I think Bruce knows  . He'll keep his trap shut.. Even Ace is keeping his trap shut and not saying anything..

It would make sense if the guests come up during GENE songs.. So Ace on Duece, Dr.Love.. Bruce maybe Unholy? Vinnie maybe on ILIL?

That way they are technically not up there for any farcical lip syncing...

Paul's vocals (or not) aren't what this thread was about - Bruce should be up there above any other ex-member of KISS (alongside Eric Carr - sadly not possible).

Hah! Well for cryin’ out loud, send the rest of the band out to play for sharks again while Paul records tracks for Turn on the Night.

Whatever it takes to get Bruce up there...take a hint from Deuce and DO IT!

I love the idea. Bruce definitely deserves to have the KISS spotlight on him again. He’s been a great Ambassador for 80’/90’s KISS and many fans say his sets on the Kruises are the high point of the whole event.

On top of that, it might just give the tour a little boost, with fans thinking guests might start popping up randomly at other shows.

It's really jarring to see you as the creator of the thread, rather than just participating with multiple replies. That's not a diss or anything. It's just weird, as I don't think I've ever seen you make one.

I like Bruce, but at this point they should just admit that they were blowing smoke with that shit. I'll gladly welcome all surviving members for a few songs as one last hurrah, but it's not happening if Ace and Peter aren't on board.

No offense taken, I've always been much more of a "replyer" than an original subject poster. I'll make a post when I see something fun tho like a Kiss mention in movies, etc.

You may be right unfortunately about Kiss blowing smoke, but I really hope there was some grain of truth in what Paul said. Heck, if Guns n Roses can have Steven Adler on stage for a few songs, they can have almost any past member (almost).

Here’s a thought; what if one of these upcoming US shows is a real dog sales wise so a couple weeks out they offer Ace 10k to come up and play a couple songs then leak it to the media beforehand so word gets out. No makeup, just the 5th guy, Like Joe Perry, Phil Collen & Rick Neilsen have done in the past. Does Ace do it? Should he do it? :?:

Bruce should definitely be invited.
But a last show with "only" Bruce as a former member, that won't fly.
Then it's better not to invite any former members at all.

So all or nothing for the last ever show? That’s probably the only way to do it. But still, they could’ve had Bruce (or Ace or whoever) at a few random shows along the way. If they can share the stage in recent years with Phil Collen, Rick Neilsen and Yoshiki then surely the odd ex-KISS member could have made a guest appearance somewhere.

You would think.

For the final show, you need at least Ace OR Peter. And then Bruce can come along as well. Vinnie will of course never be invited. Too unreliable.
