Attendance and papering talk is not B.S. Kiss is a business and attendance vs avg ticket price is likely being talked about a lot between management and promoters.

1st leg of the tour was a huge success while the current leg is not running as high. We do not know the breakdown between how much Kiss gets vs the promoter and how much it costs the band to put on the show but a difference of $500,000 in revenue is a lot of money. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next 2 years. They said this tour will be a 3 year tour but if it’s the exact same show with no changes coming it’s hard to see how they’ll be able to come back to these markets again.
What are you talking about? “500,000 drop in revenue”? $1.3 million is about the AVERAGE gate for the tour.

All promoters are looking at is gate versus guarantee.

For all intents and purposes that’s all they ever look at.
Yup. A better way to put it is Gate vs Guarantee. Attendance and ticket price obviously get you to the gate, and it’s a certainty that management and promoters are having the ticket price discussion.

It seems some on here (not you Nibbler) look at the $1,000,000 gate and don’t seem to comprehend that revenue does not = profit. Seeing a $500,000 drop in revenue compared to just 6 months ago isn’t something to just gloss over.

I’d imagine that Kiss would have a guarantee per show and then participate on revenues brought in above a certain point. I read that when U2 signed their $100m deal with Live Nation they still participate on revenues even though they got that huge guarantee.
However this leg ISN’T showing a $500,000 drop in gate.

There’s nothing to gloss over.

KISS are killing it.
Looking at some of the last few box scores there’s a pretty big decline.
Decline in WHAT? It’s offset by being the #1 and #3 attended shows of the entire tour. That's how it’s marketed. That’s what happens at these summer outdoor shows. Draw more pay less. The Dynamic Pricing model hit the average Revenue Per Concert of $1.3 million. Pretty much right on the money 🎯

My mistake then. I was going off what’s been posted the last few pages (Little Rock, Barclays, etc...). If they are still maintaining a $1.3m avg that’s damn good. I do think though that if there are no changes it will be hard to see how this tour goes on for another couple of years.

That’s not a big enough sample size.

I could play that game too. Look how bad the first leg did...

KISS
Spokane Arena
Spokane, WA
Feb. 4, 2019
$634,166
7,241

KISS
Viejas Arena
San Diego, CA
Feb. 7, 2019
$876,677
7,521

Now we all know these two dates aren’t indicative to the average gates on the first leg...don’t we?

I’m not even sure which “last few boxscore have a pretty big decline”. There may be an error in your records.

The first leg averaged around $1.3M, the second leg is doing about the same.

These are the facts.

KISS
Verizon Arena
North Little Rock, AR
Sep. 5, 2019
$768,520
12,028 **SOLD-OUT

Dates on the calander are going backward. $768,520 is not close to 1.3 million. You have to look at the next 10 shows and see what's trending. $768,520 might be the new number Kiss pulls in moving forward.
Dates from Feb and even August don't mean anything.

Of course looking at only one show and ignoring the rest of the boxscores is a good indication of how well this leg is performing.

Wow.

The arguments you present never cease to amaze me.

Attendance and gross revenue is staying strong. The average price per ticket is much lower this leg though...
Personally I am good with the drop in average ticket prices. Your average person can afford to buy one 😉
Totally agree. Way better for the fans.

If you did one iota of due diligence you’d know that the next 10 shows are going to come in way over that figure.

The data and gate is $768,520 for a recent show in September. Let's see if the trend with dynamic pricing changes that gate number.
Not sure why you can't handle real data?
