Gene has been honest about it, too. On the VH-1 documentary from 2001, he said “it is all about the money.”

I don't see it happening. Even if it did,I doubt if it would be a game changer. The ship has sailed on that. What's the point really? But really,at this point,I don't think it will happen. Gene and Paul like this lineup, whether some do or not.

Of course it's about money. Ace isn't exactly raking in the millions. It isn't going to happen anyway, no matter how many times he continues to bleat about it. Maybe, just maybe if he'd retained his chops it might be a possibility, but that ship sailed many years ago. He now plays like Paul sings. It would be even more of a disaster than it already is. The guy just needs to move on.

Oh, geeze, stop taking this bait, folks... 95 percent of this interview was about the Alice Cooper tour, and sadly Trunk asks the same oid question at the very end, and Ace gives the same old answer... and now we get one of these same old threads again.
earlier in the interview, before asked, he only offered "they're doing their thing, I'm doing mine... it's great."
he shouldn't take the bait, but he does, and people here do too.

Music is a business. It has always been about the money, not just for Kiss for all bands. Nothing shocking here at all.

I don't think Ace will ever play with KISS again. I'd like to watch him open for Alice however.

At the Reunion Tour press conference, he said everything was about the fans. Re: New Ace interview on reunion
He's not going to go on tour and play full sets, nor would that ever happen with Kiss anyway. If he made an appearance here and there for some extra cash, that would be cool for him and the fans.
He seems to be pretty content with life right now. Low key and low stress it seems. He doesn't need the BS anymore.

Lemme guess.
“I concur Eddie. When Paul and Gene regain their sense and the price is right, I will reclaim my throne and they need to pull the money truck up to my house or nothing will happen. At this juncture all I can say is wait and see. But the ball is in their court and always will be”

Exactly, anything Peter does with Kiss will not be too involved or have "commitments," that kind of thing. I do think Peter will be on stage again with Kiss, just one time, the very final show. He would genuinely do it for the fans, plus I think Peter wouldn't mind an arena or stadium full of people cheering him on one more time.LoveGun77 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 6:43 pm

Seems reasonable that could happen. However, some still have this delusional thought that the originals are going to reunite and tour. It's not going to happen. Even Ace is delusional that way haha...redinthesky wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 7:00 pmExactly, anything Peter does with Kiss will not be too involved or have "commitments," that kind of thing. I have the best story and the most interesting life. Growing up in the Bronx. Poor, lower middle class, living in a one bedroom apartment. Next thing you know, I'm in one of the biggest rock groups in the world. That's a HUGE success story. I've already been pitching. I was talking to the president of Hasbro. They did all Transformers movies. They made billions off those films. Hasbro has billions of dollars. I told those guys, hey we gotta do an Ace Frehley movie and let's get Scorsese to direct it. He grew up in the Bronx and he would get it better than any other director. So I planted the seed, we'll see what happens. Maybe in a couple years you know, "The Ace Frehley Story". Trashing Tommy Thayer:
"It's withstood the test of time. All my guitar work and solos, even though I'm not playing them, some other idiot is. And life goes on."
On the possibility of playing with KISS again:
"Look anything's possible...If the money's right and it's presented to me in the right way, anything can happen"
On officially released live show (Japan):
"Oh well that's interesting. I should be getting a check then. [laughter] If not, they'll be getting a call from my attorney."
Ace insists he's not an opening act, he's a "special guest star"
"It's going to be very cool. I'm looking forward to it. I don't see any downside or negativity. I mean the only thing I wish, is that, because of Covid and stuff, they're not having an opening act. So even though I'm special guest star, I'm going on first."
Taking a shot at Paul Stanley
"Everybody in my band sings lead. We have 5 lead singers. God forbid I blow my voice out, one of the other guys can cover for me. I would never use tapes, like some people [laughs]."
Upset that Meet and Greets were cancelled
'We're going to be tested twice a week. No one is allowed back stage. Meet and Greets were canceled a couple of weeks ago, which kind of got me a little upset...I'm working around that...we're going to get around it. I'm going to sell some of my painted guitars. If somebody wants to pay a certain fee, I'm going to get up on stage and play the guitar they bought for a song. So you know, we're going to get around that."
On Covid
"I've been vaccinated, I take my vitamins, I work out. My new girlfriend's a personal trainer, on top of being a school teacher and a graphic artist. I eat right. She keeps me in great shape. I'm down to 198, which is the thinnest I've been since I can't remember."

Re: New Ace interview on reunion
Even if it's for a handful of shows, it would make me interested at least. They look and sound so bored, and lifeless now, but if Ace was there, and Peter did a few songs at the end at least you have the originals.
I am sure if they played their final 3 shows in NYC, and brought Ace & Peter in for those, it would boost ticket sales. (That's all that really concerns them now)
But, for me, KISS were done in 2001. Paul & Gene should of brought Bruce & Eric back if they wanted to carry on, taken the make-up off and been happy with playing scaled down shows packed with obscurities. They could of made a decent return on that.

He's upset, but very proud that he (or his team) devised a work around (he mentions it 3 times).
If you buy one of his painted guitars (he was selling them for $3500.00) and pay an extra fee, he'll play it on stage.
