Reminds me a classic rock station in banner elk north carolina back in 07- 2010 that had a fan lunch time DJ spot and they would play their picks
Plus morning requests could be anything used to Priest, maiden, KISS, Dio, etc

Is there a way we could get a playlist of what Julian played? 9AM and 4PM aren't the best times for me, unfortunately.

I very much enjoyed the show as I am not super familiar with the subsequent versions of KISS, it was good to hear some deep cuts from an expert KISSologist. I did want to share with you that I thought Tears Are Falling (believe it or not I have never heard this song before) reminded me of a 4 Tops or Temptations-like song. The way I hear it, Paul is singing Tears are Falling like a classic Motown tune.

Anyways, it was a fun listen and came away with a better appreciation for the later versions of KISS and will definitely tune into Unholy Radio more often.

Thanks for listening!

Paul's brought some of those soul influences into other KISS songs too. All part of his musical DNA.

01. TEARS ARE FALLING
This and Heaven's on Fire, I am almost certain, are what got me into KISS. Someone had given me Smashes, Thrashes & Hits when I was a kid -- maybe 8 or 9 -- and those two were some of my favorites on the album. I enjoyed I Love It Loud as well, but I didn't get (and still don't) the fake out fade. I really love Bruce's solo on this, and it is what sets it apart from the two prior songs which were done in basically the same vein. To be honest, I think Tears are Falling is a combo of Lick It Up, A Million to One, and Heaven's on Fire.

02. HEART OF CHROME
I don't know why, but Paul has a great way of writing "get over your ex" songs. Move On, Easy as It Seems, and Heart of Chrome. This is probably one of my favorite Paul songs off of Revenge, which is one of my favorite KISS albums. It's pretty close between this and Take it Off. (Though, to be fair, Tough Love is pretty good too.)

03. TAKE IT OFF
I prefer this to something like Def Leppard's Pour a Little Sugar on Me and Motley's Girls Girls Girls. Probably about 5 years too late, though. Oh well, I still enjoy it anyways. Killer lead from Bruce!

04. PARALYZED
If memory serves, this song was supposed to have a verse from a rapper, and I'm really glad that got shit-canned. That would've been godawful. I like the song, but in comparison to Gene's other tracks on Revenge, this is a bit of a bunt (and he probably doesn't make it to first plate before the baseball, either).

05. DEUCE
Probably as overplayed as Love Gun, but still a great tune. Not much to say.

06. HOOLIGAN
Everyone (just about, anyways) seems to hate this track or rate it rather low, but I have liked it since I was a kid listening to Love Gun on cassette with my Walkman that my great grandma got me. I used to carry a case that could carry about 10 or so cassette tapes in it, and most of them were KISS albums. I'd also typically have backup batteries as well. Those were the days.

07. I STOLE YOUR LOVE
I can't listen to this song without thinking of Jam's mom getting jumpy and spilling wine all over herself. C'mon lady, loosen up a bit. The song is great!

08. ROCKET RIDE
You know, I wish Ace was a little more forthcoming with what he is talking about. It isn't quite clear enough. Apparently he really does want to go to Mars. Cool riffs.

09. THE OATH
Cool song, even if it is an awful song for KISS. Lyrically, it doesn't really work all too well. The riffs are great, but would be better with some more balls and teeth to the distorted guitars. I love the riffs, they are fun to play. I just wish the context (album and lyrics) were more suitable. Waste, frankly.

10. FREHLEY'S COMET - LOVE ME RIGHT
Okay tune. Works in the context of the first Comet record, but here, it's a bit of a sore thumb. It sure does stick out quite a bit, and the shift from The Oath to this is jarring.

11. PETER CRISS - YOU BETTER RUN
I like Peter's vocals, but I'm not a fan of the synth, and the riffs aren't there. The other assorted noises are a bit much as well. Might've worked better as a KISS song, possibly? I know I've listened to Out of Control and Let Me Rock You, but I'm not sure how many times. Probably only a handful.

12. VINNIE VINCENT INVASTION - SHOOT U FULL OF LOVE
Check, please!

13. SAVE YOUR LOVE
I like this song, and I think it works well as the last track on Dynasty. Unfortunately, Dynasty and Unmasked are hampered by stylistic missteps and the feeling that these tracks are solo album castoffs, but otherwise, they're decent. A more rock style production (ie, if Kramer worked on this) would've benefited the song some, I think.

14. I CAN'T STOP THE RAIN
Okay song; there are better on PC78, in my opinion.

15. RISE TO IT
Love the blues slide, and the rest of the song is pretty great too. HITS is a spotty record, but would be a lot better if a couple tracks were removed.

16. LET ME GO, ROCK 'N' ROLL
I love Let Me Go, Rock N Roll (studio version), but the Alive! version is even better. The 8 or so solos (okay, hyperbolic I know) that Ace has on the Alive! version are enough to make you want to learn to play guitar (it was part of why I wanted to learn).

17. CRAZY CRAZY NIGHTS
Of all the songs in the world, this sure is one of em. Have a good night, folks!

So, all of the songwriters get paid (somehow, via whatever is the current convoluted system) when you guys play a song, correct?

You're basically making money for Gene and Paul et al., is that right...?
