Side A vs Side B RNRO

Post by Ginx99 »

Now it's time for one of my favourite KISS album, Rock and Roll Over.

Side A:
I Want You
Take Me
Calling Dr. Love
Ladies Room
Baby Driver

Side B:
Love 'em, Leve 'em
Mr. Speed
See You In Your Dreams
Hard Luck Woman
Makin' Love

To me, This is by far the hardest choice, Depending on the day I could pick either side.. For today I think I'm leaning towards side A.

Which side do you pick?

Tough one. Mr. Speed is one of my all time favorite KISS tunes but I went with Side A. I think it’s the stronger side.

Oh man.
I love songs from both, but I’ll pick Side B because of Hard Luck Woman, Makin’ Love and Mr. Speed.

Took me to LP 5 to choose Side A. The first 3 tunes are such a powerhouse!! & Baby Driver rocks too!

Hate this album - but side a is an easy choice because of Dr Love (& Baby Driver to a lesser degree)

Close one, but side B.

My favourite songs on this album are the first two (I Want You & Take Me) and the last two (Hard Luck Woman & Makin Love). They really do stand out imo.

I've become rather partial to "Love 'em, Leve 'em" as well in the last couple of years.

Ladies Room is the weakest song on the album. And whilst good, "Calling Dr Love" is up there as one of their most overrated songs.

Tough call! I have to go with A. When I was 13 this was the first album that I bought for myself. I had heard Alive and Destroyer, then I saw the Paul Lynde show. A week later I bought RNRO when it just came out. After hearing I Want You, I was all in and it started my lifelong obsession with Kiss and guitars. To this day, I get pumped up hearing I Want You.

One good track on either side of this stinker, but many here would have you believe it's the second coming of Led Zeppelin IV.

This one really is tough but I went with Side B.

btw, thanks for listing all the songs when you do these polls. We all know the albums but it's still hard to remember what's on what side.

That’s strictly your opinion. Sorry guy, you do not have permission to tell me this album sucks. It doesn’t. That’s my opinion, and the only one that counts to me. If you want to dislike the album, go for it, but you do not get the final verdict on the album.

Settle down, chap. Nobody said I had the final verdict on anything. Just stating my opinion the same as you.

Out of my six favorite songs on the album, three are on each side. However, I voted for Side A.

The same ones that open each side. The rest I don't need to hear again as long as I live.

Calling Dr. Love was great in Rio in '83 because Eric and Vinnie rocked it up something fierce. I find the studio version and most live performances quite dull.

Well, nice to see someone else like "Love Em Leave Em".

Side A by a thin margin. I really don't like Baby Driver but otherwise think it's one of the best sides of any classic era Kiss studio album.

Love 'em, Leave 'em and See You in Your Dreams really drag Side B if we're picking nits. Rock and Roll Over is a great record.

I remember getting this album for Christmas in '76. I was in 5th grade. It was the first new KISS album released after I became a fan. Every song is good, but today I went with side B. Mr. Speed and Love 'em Leave 'em are two of my favorite tracks.

One of my favorite albums. Great songs on both sides. Went with B today, could have been A just as easily.

The most overrated record in the catalogue.

Apart from the opener and the closer, it’s pure filler.
Awesome artwork though.
