Hope there is a new Ace album to promote, seems like a good opportunity for him.

A friend sent me an ad from Guilford NH earlier today but it didn’t list Ace as the opener!
This is fantastic to see. The wife and I caught Alice with Halestorm at this venue in 2019 and it was a blast. Hadn’t seen Alice since ‘96 when he toured with Priest and Motörhead and he looked and sounded the same. Fantastic staging and band. Nita Strauss is a great player AND easy on the eyes.....
This could be a fun night! I saw Alice at the Boston Garden in ‘87 and Ace was supposed to open that night but was a no-show so it’s great to see these two sober and still out there more than 30 years later!

I was at that show. Traffic was horrible and we missed most of Aces set. The crowd was great and bigger than KISS crowd at same venue a year earlier.

I’m hoping no opener, Ace at 7:30 for an hour, then Alice from 9:00 to 10:30, but probably some local band at 7pm.

I read where they are selling none of these to capacity due to COVID, so it will be real interesting what the gates are like. I’m sure the Nibbler will be it!

But the rest, 24 shows in 35 days, we all know Alice is superhuman for his age, but can Ace keep up that pace?

I bet there will be an unknown band play for 20 minutes starting at 7 p.m. Ace will play a 30 minute set max starting around 7:50 P.M. Then Alice will go on around 8:45.

I'm pretty sure Ace did an hour in Australia w/Alice on multiple dates... usually 12 songs a nite, plus two solos (Bass & Guitar); that's not 30 minutes...

I'm just basing my opinion on his age, recent show reviews in the past several years and 24 shows in 35 days including several back to back nights. Does he have the stamina, the testicular fortitude, to perform at a high level for more than 30 minutes each night?

Ace looks like he dropped 30 pounds and opening and playing in front of a larger crowd that didnt specifically show up for him will likely light a fire under his ass.

My guess is this is a much better touring situation than recent solo tours. I saw Ace in NH a while back and he had a tour bus and trailer parked in front of a small bar in a strip mall. I'd guess the band members did the load in/load out. Far cry from the Four Seasons and someone handing you a guitar as you go onstage he had while in KISS.

I’m curious about that myself.

Is it gonna be light ‘cause of Covid? Or does everyone wanna defy the disease and it’s an adrenaline shot to the live music industry?

I’m going on record saying it averages out south of $200K per show. Although that pendulum swing could make quite a difference.

70 percent Kiss songs is my guess, if you also count songs from Ace's 1978 solo album as Kiss songs.

Ace saying the new band was cheaper was a) not cool but b) likely a statement of fact. Collectively how much more was the old band vs the new? Let's say it's $1k more, a nite... it adds up. Ace chose not to afford them... gimme a break on any other interpretation.
The new Ace band is like the trade off you get with Tommy and Eric... maybe some fresh energy... but, regardless, I prefer Ace w/his own age group... rock and roll stalwarts, versus good guy fanboys (w/no disrespect to fanboys intended); ideally Anton (of course), Richie and Chris Wise.
Loved that Coogan could sing the Zeppelin and Starchild stuff, but that's an overrated skillset, easily replaced.

I did use that choice of words, and the end result is that you're arguing with yourself, which is actually awesome. If saving money matters to you, you choose to do that. Most people choose to pay less for things, when they can. e.g. I can afford the KISS vip, I choose not to do it any longer. Duh.

Ultimately it's semantics...but you saying he couldn't afford him isn't accurate. That would mean Scot left because Ace wasn't paying him enough. He was fired and he was pissed about it. It was a shitty move on Ace's part IMO. Part of the reasoning was because the replacements were cheaper...but that doesn't mean he couldn't afford him. Had Gene not been in his ear, I bet Ace would still be using that band with Scot...

I’d agree with that. Would guess in the sheds the attendance could be up with ticket deals and if they could pull 6k fans at 25 bucks a ticket everyone wins.

Got Jacksonville, 2nd row center this morning. What an awesome bill! I bet Ace gets about a 60 minute set. Alice is usually about a 75 to 80 min show. I always said Kiss/Alice would have been an awesome pairing. I can totally dig this instead.

We saw that show in New Haven the day after Boston. Frehley's Comet was cut from the bill for some reason or another and when we got to the Coliseum there was a sign on the door that said "Ace Frehley Will Not Be Appearing Tonight". It's ok though, it was priceless to see FP get booed from the stage, getting splattered during Chop, Chop, Chop, and seeing my first and still probably best of 12 Alice shows. The guy never disappoints!
