Re: Monster Bonus Track - Chart Ramifications
Where did this talk of bonus tracks come from? First time I'm hearing this. Maybe just maybe they'll release everything on the US version a la Sonic Boom.
Also if there are bonus tracks on imports you can bet your ass I'll be purchasing that release and not the US version.

That's what I'd do.RisingForce wrote:That would be smart....knowing that those fans are out there who won't even think twice about buying both versions to get two different bonus tracks.phoenixphil wrote:Didn't I read somewhere that they recorded 14 tracks for Monster? I'm guessing that the US version will havea different bonus track...
Sales industrywide are in the toilet, so I'd have no problem doing something like that.
As long as the bonus tracks were better than In Your Face.
(I would have never bought the Japanese version of PC if I knew how weak that song is...)

Re: Monster Bonus Track - Chart Ramifications
Then again, tracks don't get time to grow on you. Give it a try, dirt might become gold. But songs growing on you was easier with vinyl, as soon as cd's came the skipping and programming of tracks made it easier to just listen to the songs you instantly liked and forget about the others more or less.Anomaly wrote:Well look at it this way, individual tracks are around 99 cents, and given how Sonic Boom went over for me I would have probably only downloaded three/four of the tracks. Saves me $10 and I don't have to skip the tracks I don't want to hear.bjohnsen74 wrote:So if you like all songs, you still won't buy it.. No wonder Kiss won't reach #1.Anomaly wrote:Not many I'd bet, personally I'm just downloading the tracks I like.
You hang here all day, this board is taking up more of your time than anything else, and still you won't support the album if you like it.. Wow!

Re: Monster Bonus Track - Chart Ramifications
And the only one close to having something like a music video of old. It’s really a lyric video, but with Paul showing up to perform some of the song, it’s a small step up. Would have been more fun to see the band do some concept videos again.
The rest is just a jumble of concert footage — but it’s quite a lot of footage, so maybe that’s another show in the vault, if they have pro audio to go with it. I’d guess they were considering a new concert video release in the years before Vegas in 2014 and did some recording for it but wound up using the footage in other ways instead.

I’d buy that South American show where Paul butchered Long Way Down. One of the most hilarious KISS shows ever.

I saw them perform, Hell Or Hallelujah, Wall Of Sound, All For The Love Of Rock & Roll, Outta This World and Long Way Down on the Kiss Kruise II as much as it was good to get some obscure songs, I'd have preferred to hear Mr Speed over all of those.

Funny, I felt the exact same way when I was on KKII in 2012. Now, all these years later I’m so glad they did those songs that year. I saw Mr. Speed on KKV and most other deep cuts I wanted to see. I know I’ll never see them play those Monster songs ever again. So glad I was there!!mrmajester wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 3:54 am I saw them perform, Hell Or Hallelujah, Wall Of Sound, All For The Love Of Rock & Roll, Outta This World and Long Way Down on the Kiss Kruise II as much as it was good to get some obscure songs, I'd have preferred to hear Mr Speed over all of those.

Re: Monster Bonus Track - Chart Ramifications
I thought most of Monster was pretty good at the time. I was fairly enthused to get it when it came out. Got it for my bday in 2012. I seriously doubt I ever listened to it again since early 2013. I didn’t intend to not play it again. But, I did know at the time, if I really liked it, I would continue to play it. It took an old thread to even think about it I guess.

Water under the bridge, my friend, water under the bridge.RisingForce wrote: ↑Thu Jun 28, 2012 8:58 am Is it possible that the release of Monster with a bonus track for Europe will hurt their hopes for a #1 album in the states? Personally, I know that I'll just buy the European version since that will have all of the tracks and just skip the American pressing (assuming that all of the talk of the bonus track for Europe is true).
Will there be a substantial amount of others who just skip the American pressing to get all of the tracks? Getting imports is so much easier these days that it really won't be difficult for people to get that version instead. I can imagine plenty just passing over the American version.
