DIRTY LIVIN is by far the best song on Dynasty!

Sure Know Something gets my vote. It’s objectively the best written song in the album. Great melody, catchy chorus and outstanding vocal performance. I think this song the perfect bridge between 70’s and 80’s KISS.

Dynasty, its production shortcomings notwithstanding, is another Klinic in high-quality, original, creative songwriting.

Songwriting, people! ...Songwriting. That has always been the key. Even most famous artists can barely do it.

And Charisma is my all-time favorite KISS song. Probably.

I love this album...dunno why it get such a Bad disco rap. I went with Sure Know Something, but love Hard Times, 2000 Man, X-ray eyes, IWMFLY, and always loved Charisma

Of course this was my first show, one of my first albums and I was one of those kindergartners in the crowd so it’s special to me.

I think there are only really 2 songs that could be considered to have disco elements. I Was Made For Loving You and Dirty Livin’. Sure Know Something and Magic Touch are certainly a lot different in style from the previous studio record (LOVE GUN) but seem a logical progression from Paul’s solo record. Ace’s 3 and Gene’s 2 are pretty typical for KISS.

DYNASTY is definitely a more mature album than their first 6. There is more depth to the songwriting and the playing has new levels of sophistication. It’s a pretty complete album too, with all 4 guys getting to sing. I agree that it gets a bad rap for being a disco record. It’s so much more than that. It’s a good quality KISS album.
