Those two are already in and they barely scratched the attendance. Sure a soft one or two could still remain. Although with the majority of the large European and strong recent NA dates to come? I see a tremendous upside.
When did you get to determine what’s a legitimate sellout and what isn’t?
Secondly, in all your infinite wisdom at what attendances would you consider those dates a legitimate sell out?

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Since it's an official boxscore it's as legitimate as it gets. The info is not coming from KISS member interview. I actually agree that it looks strange but it not stranger than other sellouts by any other band.Nellcote71 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 4:56 pmThose weren’t legitimate sellouts - I don’t care how you spin itnibbler1982 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:14 pmYou saw the threads I posted before this leg.acefan1975 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:02 pmFair, but there could still be a dog or two left...I would not be shocked if they average 13K or so this leg, maybe more.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:00 pmI like your gate estimate, I don’t feel strong about your attendance though.acefan1975 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 2:56 pm I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the average per ticket falls at least 20% from the first leg of the tour, but the average attendance will stay the same or grow slightly...

And Brooklyn was a DOG.
Brooklyn had one of the lowest avg tickets (before Little Rock) $89
Spokane $87.58
Omaha $86.54
Little Rock $63
You can bet some SHENANIGANS went on there to make it "appear" sold out or close to it. NY shows should be the highest avg ticket price of all.
It was the fourth show within a half hour radius.
It it drew ~12,000/$1,000,000.

There are 21M people in the NY Metro area! Your spin is hilarious
On a FAR MORE SUCCESSFUL TOUR.... they managed to sell out 4 STRAIGHT NIGHTS at the Garden without shenanigans to make it "appear" sold out.
I don't feel like going back to see how many MORE shows they played in the "area" that tour.
But hilarious how KISS PLUNGED 31% and you are trying to make it seem like its no big deal.
Kiss hasn't even gotten enough in a metro area of 21M to fill up ONE STADIUM CONCERT!
Also it seems like the books are being HEAVILY COOKED to make it appear that shows that sold terribly actually SOLD OUT.
Here's a good example. 8000 seats sold at the same avg as MSG $129 a ticket.
3,500 seats sold/given away at $5 a ticket
Those 3,500 could have been bought by KISS. Never used. Given away etc. It wouldn't cost them that much. But they could keep up the "illusion" the tour is selling out all over. And they could bury the cost in the expenses so it wouldn't matter that much.
After LITTLE ROCK got exposed.... you can BET Kiss is up to something like this to SAVE FACE. '
And just admit.... Staples Center was only around 60% sold and Oakland was worse than that... and they got rescheduled for POOR TICKET SALES and all this happening on the FIRST LEG!

I did a real count. I welcome you to challenge mine and do one yourself. The results of that count is this.
3,019 remaining seats with 8,589 already being sold. It comes to total of 11,608 capacity with 58 sections counted.
That comes to a SEVENTY FOUR PERCENT SALES RATE. My accuracy is UNCANNY.
The thin row of side stage seating on each edge was not counted. If you look at those seats they go about three or four seats deep. There’s no way of knowing how many were put on sale. If you were to include them on an estimate it would add a couple hundred to capacity and probably increase the sales percentage.

Now I never counted any dots, but I have a hard time believing that if the 8,589 number is correct that KISS cancelled the show because of low ticket sales. They would have been looking at a 10K plus crowd with an 800K plus gate...

And remember STAPLES CENTER is BIGGER than the GARDEN. A regular set up for that venue ... Kiss should have had 13,500.
What is 8589 / 13,500 (a normal KISS show in a venue that size)... = 63%
They already didn't release 2,000 seats that would have been standard because they knew demand wasn't there.

The Dynamic pricing model is working perfectly. Maximizing revenue on a per show basis. I never go to outdoor shows. I’m sure I’m not alone. There’s lots more to do in summer. Plus many of the seats in back and the lawn aren’t the best. I would venture an hypothesis that outdoor shows charge less and draw MORE. And the sweet spot is being hit at every show.

Yep the avg keeps PLUMMETING.
HersheyPark holds 30,000. Florida Georgia Line played to 30,000 in August.
Ruoff Home Mortgage Center holds 25,000 for concerts.
The sweet spot being hit is ALL that matters to the promoters. Unless ANY of us are privy to the books on this tour, all the conjecture is pure hypothetical nonsense along with the term "Sold Out" . Jeez, do we not remember that the COTN tour AND the Revenge tours were cut short because of lack of attendance & revenues? The Revenge tour in CHICAGO, a city of millions, drew about 2800 at the UIC Pavillion. The UIC being a 3rd rate concert venue behind Chicago Stadium/United Center and the Rosemont Horizon/Allstate Arena. The 4th choice would have been the Aragon Brawl Room. Good god, KISS had to play the Holiday Star Theater in Merriville IN for the Crazy Nights tour, it holds 3400.
So yeah, all this attendance and sold out and "papering the house" arguments are a bunch of horseshit.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Interesting. Weren't those two tours during periods when VV was busy saving KISS?
BTW I too am a Chicagoan, brother (is it to call you that?) and I remember the Revenge tour well, but nothing could top how low KISS fell, at least in the Chicago market, on the LIU tour. They would have been lucky to have had 1500 in attendance at the UIC Pavilion that night. I felt bad for the band and it was downright embarrassing. Oh yeah, another tour during the Vinnie saves KISS period. Imagine how bad things would have been without him.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Attendance and papering talk is not B.S. Kiss is a business and attendance vs avg ticket price is likely being talked about a lot between management and promoters.
1st leg of the tour was a huge success while the current leg is not running as high. We do not know the breakdown between how much Kiss gets vs the promoter and how much it costs the band to put on the show but a difference of $500,000 in revenue is a lot of money. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next 2 years. They said this tour will be a 3 year tour but if it’s the exact same show with no changes coming it’s hard to see how they’ll be able to come back to these markets again.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
I agree. Certainly I do not see them continuing with another new stage show - I believe the EOTR stage is it from here on out. Maybe a tweak here or there. The one thing they could change is that setlist. Regardless of the backing tracks, why not cut some for songs like Come On and Love Me, ISYL, etc.? A significant setlist revamp would get me back to another show as would special guest appearances. There are more cards to be played.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Yep, but I think I've finally figured it out:
1. If Kiss sell 15000 in any given arena, and make $1,200,000 + it means that they are insulting their fans by over-charging for tickets, and the people that go to see them aren't real fans. And Kiss should be ashamed of gouging their audience.
2. If Kiss sell 15000 in any given arena, and make LESS than $1,200,000 it means that they are dying on their collective asses and couldn't give tix away - and the people that go to see them aren't real fans. And Kiss should be ashamed of having to discount the ticket price.
3. If Kiss sell less than 10000 anywhere, it means their career is over and it would have been a different story if Ace and Peter were on the stage.
4. All of the above - without exception - would be completely acceptable if Ace & Peter were on the stage, and the audience would suddenly be comprised of "hard core" fans instead of "casual" fans.
I think that's about it.

Yup. A better way to put it is Gate vs Guarantee. Attendance and ticket price obviously get you to the gate, and it’s a certainty that management and promoters are having the ticket price discussion.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:23 amAll promoters are looking at is gate versus guarantee. So Cruel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:12 am Attendance and papering talk is not B.S. It seems some on here (not you Nibbler) look at the $1,000,000 gate and don’t seem to comprehend that revenue does not = profit. Seeing a $500,000 drop in revenue compared to just 6 months ago isn’t something to just gloss over.
I’d imagine that Kiss would have a guarantee per show and then participate on revenues brought in above a certain point. I read that when U2 signed their $100m deal with Live Nation they still participate on revenues even though they got that huge guarantee.

Decline in WHAT? It’s offset by being the #1 and #3 attended shows of the entire tour. That's how it’s marketed. That’s what happens at these summer outdoor shows. Draw more pay less. The Dynamic Pricing model hit the average Revenue Per Concert of $1.3 million. Pretty much right on the moneySo Cruel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:08 pmLooking at some of the last few box scores there’s a pretty big decline.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:05 pmHowever this leg ISN’T showing a $500,000 drop in gate.So Cruel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:36 amYup. My mistake then. I was going off what’s been posted the last few pages (Little Rock, Barclays, etc...). If they are still maintaining a $1.3m avg that’s damn good. I do think though that if there are no changes it will be hard to see how this tour goes on for another couple of years.Much Too Soon wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:18 pmWhat are you talking about? “500,000 drop in revenue”? $1.3 million is about the AVERAGE gate for the tour.So Cruel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:12 am Attendance and papering talk is not B.S. Now we all know these two dates aren’t indicative to the average gates on the first leg...don’t we?
I’m not even sure which “last few boxscore have a pretty big decline”. There may be an error in your records.
The first leg averaged around $1.3M, the second leg is doing about the same.
These are the facts.

Dates on the calander are going backward. $768,520 is not close to 1.3 million. You have to look at the next 10 shows and see what's trending. $768,520 might be the new number Kiss pulls in moving forward.
Dates from Feb and even August don't mean anything.
Wow.
The arguments you present never cease to amaze me.

I presented facts. Future dates will tell us what the future gate will be. It's September 17th. No need to pull dates from Feb and Aug to back you're argument up. Don't get med at me if you don't like the data.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:58 pmOf course looking at only one show and ignoring the rest of the boxscores is a good indication of how well this leg is performing.PterCriss wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:54 pm KISS

Unfortunately data is the bane of your existence. It chokes the life out of every ignorant comment you make.
You show one date to show what’s trending?
One show does not a trend make.
The ignorance is astounding.

The data and gate is $768,520 for a recent show in September. Let's see if the trend with dynamic pricing changes that gate number.
