I’m not schooled on Canadian geography but I’m going to all but guarantee the Great White North has a bunch more stops on the upcoming itinerary for EOTR in the years to come. I hope the maritimes are part of that leg.kissno1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:26 amNo I was just checking from the regular tickets. I know it really doesn't matter but if I had been able to go I would have been pissed that I couldn't get a ticket & they weren't sold out. I am hoping they play a date in the maritimes before it is all over, they opened their Love Gun tour in Halifax in 77, so I would think they should at least get a show there.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:21 amYou were probably checking from the VIP ticket pool. As for the Montreal tix? I was checking right up until showtime and it was showing me seats available. Weird.

Again, I’m expecting all the U.K. figures but I’m not holding my breath for much more out of the European dates. I hope I’m wrong.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
I'm happy to see the band go out this way, rather than playing to half-empty halls. As a longtime fan, it would have been depressing to see them go out playing four or five-thousand seat halls, or half-empty arenas. I think Gene and Paul work hard at what they do, so they deserve all of the success they have.
And think about it - the $66 million is just from ticket sales. It doesn't include merchandise, meet and greets, sponsorship, licensing, etc.

Wife is a fan. I attended a show with her.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 3:21 pm Well, if we’re measuring our manhood...
Ed Sheeran grossed an all time calendar year record in 2018 with $432.4M. A few days ago his current tour broke the all time mark of $735M and still climbing.
Good for Ed.
I honestly couldn’t name one of his songs and wouldn’t know who he was if I was stuck in an elevator with the guy.
He apparently hasn’t missed the fact that I won’t be attending any of his shows anytime soon.
Busch Stadium...basically sold out show. It was a "replacement" show for the one that got canceled during a round of protests here.
I have no clue what the wife, or any of the other 40,000 people in that stadium see in the man's music.
But they see something.

The UK crowd numbers are fantastic to see. I've seen the band play many a half empty hall over the years and that includes the reunion shows. I think the UK has finally got it!!!!Admin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:53 am 7/11/2019 - O2 Arena, London, England

But apparently there's a new King of the Mountain.
It's just him and a delay machine...or whatever they're called...so he plays percussion on his guitar, strums a couple chords, and the machine replays those sounds and he sings and/or raps. It's boring to me.
Bland and inoffensive is how I'd describe his music. Perfect for any dentist's office or doctor's waiting room.

This Manchester show was incredible. It 'felt' rammed when I was there so I'm pleased to see the figures back that up.
KISS weren't doing this when they were flavour of the month here 30 years ago. A top 5 single and top 5 album didn't put as many bums on seats as the past couple of tours.
In a way, I kinda hope they do draw a line under touring here again. This tour was extra special and they played to some big numbers. Go out on top, lads!

and the band , in response to such a reception, looked just thrilled.
Paul looked absolutely ecstatic and gave it 200%.
When they are on autopilot, Ill rip em, This? was a momentous show. Fair play for the extra oomph.

Cant argue with that at all. Just wish tours like the Revenge tour had these numbers.

Wow, reported stats already? I think they're getting creative to say it was "sold out," but the almost $25 drop in average ticket price, versus the first US leg, could explain it. The difference to the bottom line, if they had done $113 per ticket instead of $89, is approximately $275,000.

You're presenting a bit of a financial fallacy though, because I don't think they left money on the table; the asses were put in seats at the price required to get them there.Doose wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:05 amWow, reported stats already? I mean - almost 12,000 people and a $1M gross on the fourth show in the area is really impressive no matter what the ticket price was.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
I’m neither a Hater or Naysayer
But it looked awful for months up until the show
I thought Newark and this would be a shitshow but I was wrong
I had a great time in Brooklyn but I did see empty seats
But it doesn’t matter if there are 20,000 or 25
I don’t see a dime from it either way

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
This is the reason why I say the average attendance will increase if we get all European and second leg North American figures.
For the European shows I was playing along at home as usual. While I didn’t have exact figures, the local publications were reporting a lot of big numbers. If they were in the ballpark it would ily go up from the ~12,000 on the first 44.
Same with the current leg. The interactive maps told us sales were robust. Add that to the fact that capacities are going up and you can do the math yourself. We just heard 20,000 for Hershey the other night. I’ll believe it when I see it but things are looking good for our heroes. Let’s also not forget the supposed dogs like Barclays that was to make us fans eat humble pie...shit...that even came in at ~12,000

If anything, they can't say that KISS are drawing because of the opening bands anymore....You know, the whole festival thing.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Six months ago, yes, but not according to any particular people, because it was simply selling like shit and the show looked like it was going to be a disaster. However, Kiss pulled it out in time (discounted tickets definitely helped) and the place was generally packed, even I had a good time. However again, all the 'blue dots' on ticketmaster a few hours prior to showtime (when I bought my ticket), and all the empty seats in the arena when Kiss hit the stage, including the 30+ empty seats in my section alone (with people from way above coming down to sit in them during the show) tells me every seat wasn't sold, and obviously there's a very different criteria for what is "sold out" these days.
Kiss did great attendance-wise at Barclay's and they deserve tons of props for all the people they drew to four area shows, they did better than I certainly ever thought they would.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Nobody really knows the chronological accuracy of when a dot gets removed when a seat is sold.
Is it instant? Is there a time lag till it gets removed? When payment is actually received? Or when
tickets change hands? If the band sells the last 5% of seats in the 24hours before showtime, when
would those dots disappear? Do the ticket masters have access to REAL TIME DATA, which it appears
the blue dots are not.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Here’s another comparative analysis. KISS’ last time in the region and now. I will add, that “poor” showing by KISS in 2015 was from over touring. They might of hit that venue more than any other in recent history.
When looking at this week’s Billboard Boxscore I also noticed the Eagles recently played that arena. I’m surprised how “low” the numbers were. I mean, The Eagles are the biggest U.S. band of all time. I wonder if Glenn not being there has anything to do with it? It didn’t seem to hurt them in the states.

If the blue dots were't updated in real time then you would have tickets being double sold and the system would be worth having. It's a real time system. Everyone online has to refresh their browsers to get updated information just like the FAQ.
Two hours before showtime should be an accurate representation.
And to answer the next question: It's common practice for venue staff to move people up to fill in pockets of empty floor seats. Everyone moves into the empty seats from the back to the front. I've seen this happen at many concerts at Live Nation venues.
Kiss sells 11,089 seats at a venue and capacity is marked as 11,089 for that venue that night.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
The dots disappear immediately, or else multiple people would be buying the same seat. If you select a seat, then not purchase it, it reappears after your 10 minutes are up.Much Too Soon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 9:29 am Nobody really knows the chronological accuracy of when a dot gets removed when a seat is sold.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
The Eagles recently did two nights at the Ziggo Dome in The Netherlands, KISS did one. The Eagles played Wembley Stadium in London, KISS played the O2 Arena.nibbler1982 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 10:58 am Here’s another comparative analysis. KISS’ last time in the region and now.
