If u go over to ultimate-guitar.com and look in the news section they are showing kiss box scores and metallica box scores. Hard to believe kiss and metallica are doing almost the same numbers right now.

The percentage could sit at 99.99% and still, you'd have the usual suspects claiming it's not a "sold out tour".

Today's Billboard...
KISS - State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Ga
Reported audience: 6,945 **SOLD-OUT
Reported gross: $1,324,454
This was previously reported by Pollstar with a sold-out audience of 11,357. The Billboard numbers would equate a PPT of $190, which even by this tour's standards seems excessive.

It’s wild to me that on a tour with so many sell outs the one city where you’d think that would be a given (Detroit) was, in fact, not a sellout. It makes no sense to me.

Because 99.99% sold isn't "sold-out." Only 100% sold is "sold-out."Thunderous_Lay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:32 pm The percentage could sit at 99.99% and still, you'd have the usual suspects claiming it's not a "sold out tour".

Kiss is doing fantastic biz on the tour so far, and they are to be applauded to that to no end. But does that mean we change definitions now? You know what, if Kiss played a place with 25,000 seats for sale, and they sold every single one of them except one - guess what? That's not a sell-out. It'd be super-spectacular, absolutely fantastic, but it would not be a sell-out. That's just the reality, is it that big a deal? If Kiss plays an arena and there's 100 seats remaining, does that really light up insecurities where one has to lie and say "sell-out" when it wasn't, even though they sold almost an entire arena's worth of tix?

State Farm Arena holds 21,000 people for sporting events. Obviously this does not mean it will hold that for a concert, but 6900+ seems pretty low for a sell out.Admin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:11 am Today's Billboard...

So now you're a supposed mind-reader? I've given Kiss various props all along the first leg of the tour, especially for being road warriors and cramming so many shows in relatively little time. No secret I'm not a fan of this lineup, or the lip-syncing. But can't deny Gene and Paul have blown up their show and their ticket sales so far have been pretty darn good.Thunderous_Lay wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 11:16 amFaux praise you mean and as I said on occasion, in the end, it makes no difference whatsoever.redinthesky wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 11:06 amJilted? Re: New EOTR Boxscores
It’s obliviously a typo. Like you’ve pointed out, the tell tale sign is the outlandish $190 ticket average that raises the flag. Billboard gets it wrong sometimes too. I’m guessing it’s purely a clerical error. Someone put the wrong number in the wrong slot.Admin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 9:11 am Today's Billboard...

When you look at the original boxscore you have 11,357 / $1,324,454 with a average price per ticket of $116.62.
Those numbers fall in line with the current averages almost to a tee.

There are a few mind readers on this site. I have been told what I am thinking and who I dislike for years lol. Did you know because I don't like TLJ I am a woman hater?? Even though I have said numerous times I love TFA?? Mind readers often find out they are always wrong Red. That is a great turn out for Ottawa. They didn't draw that well in Ottawa the last time there in 2013. It may have only been 5-6000 from what I remember. Vancouver was a similar turn out to Ottawa in 2013 as well. They are sure packing them in on this tour everywhere.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
My question is what’s going on for next year? They started this out saying 3 year tour. In 2019 they will have done 2 North American legs, 1 European leg, and Australia.
In 2020 they can go to South America, but that’s a short run, under a month. Japan, but that’s even shorter, at most a couple of weeks. Maybe a European festival leg in the summer. Can’t see any more demand in N.American markets, unless they hit the sticks, but the $1m shows would be long gone if they do that.
Did Kiss blow their load this year?

Because 99.99% sold isn't "sold-out." Only 100% sold is "sold-out."
Reporter: So Paul, how is the tour doing?
Paul: We're almost selling out.
Reporter: How's your voice holding up?
Paul: It's okay. I've sounded better.
Sorry Red, but that's what came to mind when I read your post.
If it makes you feel any better, I heard Kiss has already sold out their entire second North American leg, so rest easy. Yup, every show, a sellout.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
I think there’s a lot more of Europe to be had than a few festivals. All you have to do is check their history and they’re plenty of markets left untouched by 2019’s EOTR. Add that together with South America and Asia and I believe there are plenty of dates to be added up from those three regions. After that, there are countless Freedom To Rock type places to hit too. Shouldn’t they have a chance to say goodbye to the Hottest Band In The World? So Cruel wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:50 pm My question is what’s going on for next year? As far as the $1m shows? I don’t (nor do KISS) believe those are gonna keep up. But as they did 20 years ago on their last Farewell, they’re not gonna leave any stone unturned. They would still be profitable stops, just less profitable. Look at these dates from 2000.
KISS, Ted Nugent, Skid Row
August 15, 2000
Albuquerque, NM
Tingley Coliseum
5,550 / 11,775 (47.13%)
$233,100
KISS, Ted Nugent, Skid Row
August 21, 2000
Biloxi, MS
Mississippi Coast Coliseum
4,219 / 15,000 (28.13%)
$179,308
KISS, Skid Row
September 6, 2000
East Lansing, MI
Breslin Center
4,792 / 14,500 (33.05%)
$215,640
KISS, Ted Nugent, Skid Row
September 10, 2000
Evansville, IN
Roberts Stadium
4,581 / 12,912 (35.48%)
$280,185
KISS, Ted Nugent, Skid Row
September 15, 2000
Binghamton, NY
Broome County Arena
3,228 / 6,800 (47.47%)
$225,735
KISS, Skid Row
October 4, 2000
Columbia, MD
Merriweather Post Pavilion
4,369 / 15,274 (28.60%)
$280,234
I fully expect them to farm every single shekel they can and leave nothing on the table. By the end of EOTR I expect similar soft numbers like the ones above.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
I’ve pondered this thought quite a bit lately myself. According to one of the podcasts they are possibly hitting Japan in December as well. That doesn’t leave much for the supposed last 2 years of the tour. But I guess they know far more about this than any of us. Like some have said, there’s most likely a US B market run to come so maybe that will be the 3rd year, with a few major cities revisited along the way. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the next couple years. So Cruel wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:50 pm My question is what’s going on for next year? So off the top of my head we’re still missing 4 from this leg?

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
This is what makes me scratch my head. In the majority of the venues I have looked at there are very few ticket available for $113 or less, in fact the majority of tickets are double that cost. The front sections are 5 to 10 times that price. So how on earth is it possible that they are averaging $113? I'm calling shenanigans.Admin wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 8:18 am Overall (from 39 reported dates):

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
Maybe some places are honest about their NON-sell outs, and others aren't. I was at Nassau and tickets were flat out available at the gate when I walked in (less than an hour before showtime).star_paul12 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 10:22 am It’s wild to me that on a tour with so many sell outs the one city where you’d think that would be a given (Detroit) was, in fact, not a sellout. It makes no sense to me.
I don't think these phony sellouts are unique to KISS (same thing happened at MSG for Fleetwood Mac... the big sign out front said SOLD OUT, and there was a line of a dozen+ at the ticket counter [read: NOT will call]) at showtime.
I think it's all manipulation... by MSG, the bands, and others to create B.S. urgency about every show.
I've been to actual sell outs at MSG where EVERY FRIKKIN' SEAT... in front of, behind, and all around were gone. MSG was not that for Fleetwood, and Nassau had numerous empty seats for KISS. I'd still say it was 90%+ sold... but lying about it is worse than copping to what is actually happening (which is usually still impressive, FFS).
You rarely can't buy a seat, DAY OF, at the gate for MSG, unless it's U2, or PHISH or shows like that.

I suppose the term alliteration isn’t in your repertoire? Then again I’ve yet to see you display eloquence so why start now.aceshigh wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:23 amYou might want to wipe that brown spot off your nose. I can also see you’re not a fan of old school jams. If you were you’d assuredly get the reference. It fits too. Julian certainly is “keepin’ the beat” here over at the FAQ.
Lastly...Brown nose???
You obviously can’t appreciate the hard work, dedication, and diligence it takes to create some of the best books ever produced about the HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD. Being so tuned in on the archiving of live concerts aspect of the game myself, his “KISS ON TOUR” series is at the top of the heap.
Good having you back...I missed this kind of fun when you were on your vacation.

Re: New EOTR Boxscores
One show that has eluded us as far as turnout was the Glendale show on 2/13/19. Interestingly, the ONLY "stats" I've seen on that was in the recent Classic Rock cover story.
According to writer Jaan Uhelszki (who was with them that week on their jet), Glendale pulled in....19,000! ...
For the record, I'm calling BULLSHIT on that right now! I wasn't even there, and I know they could NEVER pull in that amount... especially in AZ. The ONLY way they could come near that (indoors) would be if they played in the round. That's being VERY kind, by the way.
Clearly, Uhelszki didn't even make an effort to verify that number. ...
