Looks like another packed house.
Plenty of sections sold out and the ones remaining on their way.

So will I. It's been 39 years ago since they played Amsterdam to a crowd of about 400! Looks like at least 15,000 will attend this time!! 17,000 when it's a full house but we're not there yet.

Are the shows geting shorter trough the years?
Tijdschema*:
18:30 - Deuren open
20:00 - The Dead Daisies
20:45 - Pauze
21:00 - KISS
22:45 - Verwacht einde show
Arnhem was a 2 hour show if I remember correct?

Re: KISS Europe 2015 - Amsterdam, June 18
I will be there. Looking really forward to it since it's my first visit to Amsterdam and it's a first KISS-show my girlfriend will ever see.
To be honest, I wouldn't travel to Netherlands (or to any other country) from Finland to see KISS anymore, i've already seen enough KISS-shows. But then again, i get a kick, that my girlfriend will see them for the first time so that adds up excitement for me. And like mentioned, never been to Amsterdam before so it's great to see the city + we will hang out with our friend who lives there. So basically a perfect plan for a four day trip.

Re: KISS Europe 2015 - Amsterdam, June 18
my original plan was to check for scopes during the show. there's a world map in periscope, so I would zoom in on amsterdam, that's what I did during the download show, and look for any red dots, those are people scoping, but it slipped my mind, and didn't remember till the show was over, so I remembered that when someone periscopes, a link appears on their twitter page, so I looked up "kiss amsterdam persiope" on twitter, found the names of some people that periscoped some of the show, and then entered their names on periscope, and looked at their "replay" section, and there were the video clips.cart25 wrote:I have just got the periscope app…how do you find replays??Ace The Plumber wrote:I'm watching a lot of the show now on periscope replays. LOL I know it was a process, but it was worth it. what's your periscope name so I can follow you. that way when I find a future KISS show being scoped, I can send you a notification, and you can view it

Great show! I enjoyed every minute of it and so did the rest of the audience. The band was fine and the show elements where even better than the previous times I saw them live.
In the setlist I loved the Creatures songs block with Creatures, ILIL and War Machine.

Yeah, great show. Like i mentioned earlier in this thread, we flew from Finland with my girlfriend. This was her first KISS-show and she loved it. Definitely was awesome to show her what the band is actually about.
I left my cynical "Paul sucks, the same setlist, I'm bored with KISS..." -attitude at home and just enjoyed the vibe. Hey, KISS, girlfriend and beer - can't get better than that!

That's actually a good life lesson.
Too many people are jaded and miserable during the band's last days with us.

Solid show. I feel weird though. Never had any goosebumps nor was I blown away. They're really good at what they are doing and still I feel like something has finally changed for me. I will support this band to the end and I am very proud of what they have accomplished and what they are still able to deliver. But the magic somehow is a different kind of magic. Paul was good! His voice was ok, his performance and showmanship were awesome. Gene can be as creepy as he ever was, and not just during GoT, he was very into it last night. Tommy and Eric: solid.
I love this band. This is my band since June 1979 but still..... I don't know...... I'm not sad because the band is different compared to the past.... maybe I'm a bit sad because it feels like it's the end of an era for me..... like Childhoods End (and I'm 46 right now!).
I'm also very proud. KISS playing Amsterdam again and about 15,000 people had a great night, a lot of first-timers and young folks as well. I'm proud and they have earned it by years of hard work. KISS rules!

I had that feeling after the show in Arnhem in 2010. Also thought that was the last time I would see them. Berlin 2013 I considered as a bonus, and was great. But yesterday it was brilliant (IMO). Great crowd, lot of first timers (finally KISS is cool ) and everybody had a great time. And I was 11 again.nfarend wrote:Solid show. I feel weird though. I hear ya! Wanted to go to Berlin in 2013 but I couldn't make it. Back in 2008 en 2010 I had the feeling it would be the last time. Before last night's show I had the same feeling. Like always Paul was asking if they could come back to see us again. When he asked us last night, I really felt it could be true. His voice is getting weaker but the band is still able to deliver. I'd say, new album and tour next year and I will be there again! Even though the magic is slipping away a little.BullSid wrote:I had that feeling after the show in Arnhem in 2010. For me the magic slipped away along with the departure of Ace and Peter and even further with the decline of Paul's vocals. But still a very fun show. If it was the last time they played in Holland, I'm fine. But if they return once more, I will go and see them again.nfarend wrote: Even though the magic is slipping away a little.

I had that feeling you describe after the Psycho Circus show in Utrecht 1999. It was flat and made no sense. Every show after that one I consider a bonus. Who would have thought in 1979 that we can still enjoy our favorite band. In full effect and great shape. The guy who stood next to me yesterday was 2.05 m (6.7 ft). Could be one of the reasons why I felt 11 years old againnfarend wrote:I hear ya! Wanted to go to Berlin in 2013 but I couldn't make it. Even the setlist was cool with three Creatures songs in a row. Also Paul's voice was ok.

Re: KISS Europe 2015 - Amsterdam, June 18
First two songs I worry. Is tonite going to be a disappointment? Obvious ring rust. Band not solid at all, but very shaky.
Is this their current form?
Pauls voice sounds like Kermit the Frog. What am I in for tonite?
Fortunately it gets much better. Or do I just get used to it? Maybe this is the case for the vocals, but the band definitely improves, as if they didnt warm up or anything.
Highlight for me is the video footage during Do You Love Me. Goosebumbs. 40 years pass in few minutes. I love it. Nostalgia and memories. They do honour the past. Great!
So, it takes many years for a song to become a Kliss Klassic... I like the slip of the tongue, but the excuse is pretty poor. Its almost a confession that Monster is a turd.
During the guitar solo I go to the Ladies Room. Not missing out on anything. I can tolerate Thommy but the solo spot is just too much.
During God of Thunder I can only think about the fact that Gene does not shower before the afterparty and meeting the women. Good Lord! I cant get that out of my mind. Horrendous...
I get into the show again when Paul takes his spot in the middle of the crowd. He is much closer to me know. Suddenly I enjoy KISS for a 100 procent. As a kid I was a huge fan of Paul. His solo record is the first one I ever bought, and I enjoy it ever since. The frontman! Nostalgia overwhelmes me. The Starchild, dancing in front of me.
Time flies. The show is going to an end.
I know my sister will powder her nose during I Was Made For Loving You. She doesnt like the song. And although the vocals are terrible again here, I find out how much I enjoy this song. I love it! Growing up during the Disco era, I have no probs with it whatsoever. And it is just a great song. The vocals are a disgrace, but what the hell...
Last song is not one of my favorites. But the confetti takes me back to my childhood again. It is sooo easy to understand how I fell in love with this band. Whats not to like? Nostalgia rears it head again. Wow!
OK, the party is over. Without the show and the nostalgia, it would have been a very poor performance. Imagine seeing this band without their costumes in a small bar. They would be considered amateur. Even for a tribute band. Stale musical performance, horrible vocals. But what can we do, we are in the ARMY!
After 40 years still going strong. I respect the energy, the showmanship and the hits. I love the moments of pure nostalgia.
It was not disappointing at all. I believe that after all these years, that is a pretty damn good result.

Too bad I missed Do You Love Me, since I couldn't wait no longer otherwise it would be a waterballet around me.FanbAce1978 wrote:First two songs I worry. Is tonite going to be a disappointment? Obvious ring rust. Band not solid at all, but very shaky.

All by all, it was a awesome evening the KISS could go on at least another 3 years.

But like you said, it is actually a lesson in life - even generally speaking. You can choose to enjoy the good things in life, or then complain about things and how every else is wrong. Of course life isn't a blast every day, but it is a miracle, what positive attitude can do to your life.
