Look for the long-haired mid-40s guy with wife and batch of kids (ages 6-21), and various hangers-on, and say hello.

Would love to hear Flaming Youth - Sweet Pain - I Stole Your Love - Christine Sixteen or Room Service , but judging by the Perth show I think we will get the same set list, but i'm ok with that as I haven't seen Kiss since the reunion tour & my wife has never seen them! I think the Melbourne fans might be in for a treat though as they have 2 shows, a perfect opportunity to change it up a bit, as most bands do when they play multiple nights in the same city.

I was going to head down early afternoon and check out some of the motor racing but the idea of standing in the hot sun all day, then 3+ hours of rocking out to Motley Crue and KISS was a little daunting. I will be getting there about 5 or so... Can't wait !!!

I don't really care to see either MC or Kiss again. I've seen 'em already. But I wanted my son to be able to see what a big rock and roll spectacle looks like and a friend rang this morning with 2 free tickets. So it looks like I'll end up going tonight too.

Re: Aussie Monster #2: Adelaide, 3/3/13
Slightly different order than Perth for the setlist. CRAZY NIGHTS was added. No WALL OF SOUND. A few entertaining mishaps; Prior to Gene's flying stunt, he was in the middle of his solo spot when all of a sudden the guy that operates his pulley must have decided it was go time. Gene launched into the air, stopped for a second or two, then continued on to his platform with one hand grasping the cable, looking petrified ! Then he dangled just below the platform and had to almost get some swinging momentum to reach it. There was a fire in the rafters, and Paul did an acapella version of The Doors "Light My Fire" as they bought the lighting rig down to extinguish it. Eric seemed to be having issues hearing the other guys as his timing was out a little during the first song or two and he gestured to his tech a few times during DRC. But after that they were extremely tight for the rest of the show. Paul's voice was mostly excellent (although I'm sure the YouTube clips will tell a different story...) SHANDI sounded particularly good. All in all a really great show. I took over 100 iPhone pics, ranging from great to downright deletable, but it's after midnight here now so I will sort out the good ones and post them tomorrow, along with a better review.

Re: Aussie Monster #2: Adelaide, 3/3/13
Just got home from the show, just a brief recap.....
Crazy Crazy Nights was played tonight (sounded great), Since its been 6 years since i have seen Paul sing live (LTW tour) his voice has got worse over time but sounded quite good compared to the you tube clips i have only had to go on over the years. One thing i did notiice and probably has been talked about over the years, but Genes bass seem very loud compared to the other guitars.
In regards to Gene, i knock him for his arrogance and all his stuff outside of KISS, but when he got on stage, he did a great job.Paul stiill screams too much in between songs, same old stage raps...boring too long time KISS fan, but probably not to newer fans.No Wall of Sound tonite.
There was a fire in the lighting truss, and while they were lowering it down so they could put the fire out,Paul broke into the DOORs song....Light my fire.
Overall its been a while since i have seen KISS live, while i enjoyed it,the rides is almost over.
By the way, there was a massive crowd at ther outdoor concert, hope to get some pics tomorrow.
PS.Motley Crue were terrible.........

Wall Of Sound is one of the best songs on Monster and Crazy is not working so well with this line up, soon they don`t play Monster at all, haha. Well, at least they do something with the setlists, that is always good in a case of KISS.Fabiofrehley wrote:So, it was the same thing, but Crazy Crazy Nights instead of Wall of Sound ? Yes man, for me, if they just mix one song in the set, it's good. And we can't complain about the setist, we all know it's the same thing and blablabla, but Australia hadn't seen KISS since 2008 and some countries since 2004! It's a lot of time, so, for they it's a "new" show : )sakke72 wrote:Wall Of Sound is one of the best songs on Monster and Crazy is not working so well with this line up, soon they don`t play Monster at all, haha. The show was spectacular and the band was very good. Paul's vocal issues cropped up only on the usual suspect songs, and Gene seemed in very high spirits.
Despite the hiccups mentioned by others (and perhaps they even helped), it was very entertaining to fans older (me, others) and newer (my kids, others).
Magic day.

I'm disappointed that Paul is singing twice as many songs as Gene. Not bashing, but Gene sounds great currently and Paul should conserve as much as possible. Would have loved to have seen Firehouse or another Paul song get replaced by CCN instead of WOS. Not surprised, but disappointed.

Perhaps you should attribute information you're cutting and pasting in full on setlist.fm - lifting poster's whole reports is rude. Based on the info out there...
1. Detroit Rock City
2. Shout It Out Loud
3. Hell or Hallelujah
4. I Love It Loud
5. Psycho Circus
6. Calling Dr. Love
7. Firehouse
8. Crazy Crazy Nights
9. Outta This World
10. Tommy and Eric Jam
11. Bass Solo
12. God of Thunder
13. War Machine
14. Shandi (Paul alone)
15. Love Gun
16. Black Diamond
Encore:
17. Lick It Up
18. I Was Made for Lovin' You
19. Rock and Roll All Nite
I actually like this setlist. It will vary slightly when the band plays in North America this summer.
My suggestion is to drop Crazy Nights, I Was Made For Lovin You, and Shandi (They won't play that in N America anyhow).
Bring back "Wall Of Sound", "Ladies Room", and try "Hard Luck Woman".
