Made a post in another thread that if I was a promoter I'd take Paul or Doc aside and have a word with them about blaming a curfew for a normal set time and trying to make my business and the city my business has a venue in look bad.
I think somebody is going to do it. They better prepare for the possibility of damage control if it gets in the media.
I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal, have a feeling Eddie Trunk would blab on about it to not much fanfare, but I don't see a mass public outcry over it. I can see Live Nation being wary of booking them again next year however. How big do you see this getting?

Not big at all. But big enough for the band to take notice. All it takes is for 2-3 local "reviewers" to connect the dots, put it in an important part of the review, and there you go. Radio could potentially talk about it too. I always hear radio announcers talking about shows they attended.
Any real problem would occur if media brought this up in markets where the band had not already performed.
Let's go back to the Sault St. Marie 2009 show as an example. That made the entertainment news on cbc.ca, which is the website of Canada's national network. I read the article myself. The title was something along the lines of Sault St. marie gets ripped off. Two days later a show was announced.
True, I remember hearing about an article from Oshawa or something how that city originally got shafted on the originally A35 itinerary. Think I remember someone involved with the band saying something that indicated he wasn't too happy with being called out either. If anything does indeed happen with this, I can't wait to hear the response from KISS (if they say anything.)
You're right. It was Oshawa, not Sault St. Marie. Gene was pissed in the press because he said the show was going to be announced later as a surprise, because it going to be played on the actual release day of Sonic Boom. Mind you, the show wasn't any different than the others, and may have even been shorter.

I just want them to keep it until Toronto and Darien Lake. I've never heard them play that live at a show that I've attended. I never saw KISS live until 1995, even though I had been a big fan for a decade going back to Animalize. Darien Lake will be my 10th show since 1995.

Let it go already. The banter about the curfew is obviously being used. Not the first band to use it and will not be the last. I am sure most everyone at the show had a great time and was thoroughly entertained regardless of the length of the set. That is the bottom line. A KISS concert is something that anyone who has never seen it should put on their bucketlist and experience at least once in their lifetime.

Well there is a curfew and that is true. There's no lie there. It's a stupid thing to keep saying but it is true. Without the curfew they could actually play more songs. Really there won't be any backlash & any fan that yells out that it's a lie well it isn't. Curfews are at every venue so it is fact, not opinion
