Now why didn't they release this as the first boxed set? This way the 2nd box, would not have the 1st two albums, but the next 4 instead.

They are simply ripping off their fan base making them pay a premium twice for essentially 1 1/2 worth of box set material while holding back the demos from this era of the band. I wouldn't be surprised another premium box set to be released later on with another concert.

Yea, and hopefully it will have more of their early stuff not in the Early Years set.

But then again they could have just left out the first two albums and loaded two disc of more of their earlier stuff instead, it would have been more logical.

God dammit Julian! I am trying to save money as concerned about the future and paying my rent in Covid19 world but you made me add it to my Amazon cart, although I have still yet to press my pay button. The angel & devil on my shoulder are gonna be fighting it out all day I guess :-)

Thanks Julian! I’ve been enjoying my set all week. I think it’s fantastic and I’m in awe that a band that young could sound so good live. They were hitting way above their years and came off like a freight train live. Can’t get enough of this set!

Great job Julian, your passion is infectious and your knowledge quite impressive. I’m a big fan but never went down the rabbit hole in terms of collecting like I’ve done for Kiss, Maiden, Metallica, Beatles and Zep.

Incredible to hear you talk about all the details of what’s missing and what opportunity exists for future releases. Let’s hope the other stuff sees the light of day eventually.

Just so I’m clear are you saying the Reading complete show doesn’t exist?

I doubt it. I was just hoping that it did due to the rest of the set. An audience recording of the whole show does exist, so it's better than nothing.

Thanks for listening.

I have it as well, been a Leppard fan since 1987. I noticed on one of the pages in the book, they’ve slipped in a picture of Joe from the monsters of rock tour in 86. Yep I’m nerdy.
Absolutely, the 1980 show is amazing!

I noticed that as well! In fact a few pics are repeated in the book twice.

Sadly no. I discuss those in the review.

On a somewhat related note I also enjoyed your review of Girl's "Wasted Youth" boxed set. I just ordered both that and the "Sheer Greed" remaster the other day.

I didn't see a post about it which is why I brought it up here. However, I think you and I are the only real Girl fans on the board. :-)

Julian are you working on Volume 2 Def Leppard on tour book? Picking up with the Adrenalize tour? Great job on vol 1.

Not at this time. Sadly, response to Volume 1 doesn't warrant the effort involved. But who knows, maybe after I finish the Aerosmith book I'll get bored...

No. Sold so poorly that I didn't bother getting any when it went out of print. Same goes for the replacement title.

Damn, missed out on that. I will pick up a copy of the touring Leppard Tracks on Amazon in that case. Don’t want to miss out on that one too.

Nice review and it finally got me to treat myself to this box set with some bday cash. I'm really happy with it. I think the 2019 remasters for the 2 albums sound really good. As for the other discs, I don't have any bootlegs from this era of the band, so besides the EP it was all fresh to me. The Oxford show was a fun listen and I was not expecting Medicine Man to be the music that would become Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) or the When The Rain Falls would become Let It Go. The book is very nice too. I'm overall very happy with it. By the time I finish listening to everything on here, my London to Vegas set should arrive, so I'm having a very Def Leppard week.
