It's a shame Peter's relationship with the band isn't better. This would have been a great show for him to show up to and sing BETH.

Would love to go but:
- last year I did the Vault, Pauls Art show, Aces VIP, Peters pro photo op, Kiss Expo with Ace photo op.
- This year I attended Aces show, three Kiss shows in three states, including one with very expensive tickets AND I did Kiss Meet and Greet. All that times two because aside from Meet and Greet my wife was with me.

With two kids, my wifes understanding as it is so doing yet another show would be pushing it a little. Unless idk, the day of the show the price drops to $20 or so for cheapest tix. If not, I know everyone who will go will have a great time

I disagree Brother KT. Although definitely one of them for sure. :D

I’m going on record saying Brooklyn’s numbers come in higher than both Little Rock and Oakland.

Sales certainly are soft but they’ve picked up exponentially from a month ago.

I'm seeing resale tickets for $30 on vivid and others even. (At Hershey park the day after, they're down to $20!). Ticketmaster definitely lowered a lot of their tickets, I know some friends who just bought some this morning due to the discounts. I may even pay $20 to go, I'll maybe check it out near showtime tomorrow. I said long ago I may hit it for a very discounted ticket.

Whether it was discounting, some papering, whatever at least it's not nearly as bad as even three weeks ago. There's still a shitload of tickets available, but at least it won't be like a Revenge concert, but no great shakes by any means. But yeah they definitely overestimated the Farewell routine in this area. These Barclay tickets have been on sale for a long time.

Someone asked me if I wanted to see them, because of low ticket prices last week and I said no. If you don't like what they are doing, don't go.

haha right gotta separate that stuff from the mind. Even just for the show which may not be too "classic Kiss" but is pretty spectacular I may hit it with the right ticket. I live so close I can see what's for sale really close to showtime.

Whether you pay $125 for a ticket, or $30 for a ticket,it's worth it. It's a great show, and it's the last hurrah.

Then why criticize the band on a message board if you're going to see them?

When did I criticize them? I've been saying from the start that the EOTR tour is great and worth going to.

If prices keep dropping, your bus and train fare back to the Garden State May cost more than the concert ticket.

On the way to number 6 of EOTR. As always, going to a KISS is a beautiful thing. If anyone can snap a final screenshot before bell time it would be greatly appreciated. I’m intrigued as to how many last minute shoppers are still waiting in the wings.

It filled up quite nicely. I mean, it still looks like the lightest attendance so far but it had to be expected being the fourth show within a half an hour travel.

I hate the Barclays. It’s too small. It’s like the anti Prudential Center, Both venues are roughly the same size and yet Newark feel three times larger. I guess real estate is at a premium over in Brooklyn. Not so much over at The Rock.

I grew up a few block down the road on 1st Street. The neighborhood is night and day from what it was 40 years ago.

Knowing how Paul feels about Peter, and knowing that Paul runs that band, I doubt it. I hope I am wrong. It would be nice, though.

I think all that "guest" stuff Paul was talking about is a bunch of bull. That stuff takes planning and no way does Paul want to make that effort. In Peter's case, if he was to guest it probably would have been in Jersey, closer to where he lives and easier to get to (I'm willing to bet that Peter doesn't fare well in weekday rush hour NYC traffic).

Meanwhile, looks like I'm going to the show tonight, but I go in with much different eyes than all my past Kiss shows. To me, I'm not seeing a concert, I'm seeing a literal show. Hope everyone going tonite has a great time :thumleft:

Better or worse now? Sorry for subject change.

We come to the city a couple times a year. I cheeped out last summer and we stayed at the Holiday Inn right around the corner from Barclays Center. The neighborhood wasnt what I would call great but better than some areas I have walked through in the city. I would feel much better with my Glock 17 on my hip, but thats a no-no in NYC.

Will be back in 10 days, wife cant wait.

I’ll say worse. But then again I don’t like change so what else would I say.

It used to be filled with working class immigrants. I come from a long line of bricklayers (cliché huh :D). My grandfather branched out in his own and opened his own store. He was a shoemaker.

Working class immigrants can’t afford $3M brownstones.

I’m happy in Long Island out in suburbia.

I’d keep your piece on you as much as you can. Luckily I have a full carry permit. :D

Excited to be at my second show of the tour (a sucker for a set list change, I am... Crazy, crazy...) but earth to nibbs. There's a whole lotta empty blue and green seats tonite. This shot taken 5 mins ago, right after the painter.

Second show I saw on the tour with the first being Nassau Coliseum. I had 10th row for that show and was on the side of the stage about 30 rows up tonight. Really had a great time tonight.

Tommy Thayer was excellent (can’t imagine Ace being as good as him on guitar now) and Eric Singer is the glue that keeps the band together. I just thought the band was incredibly tight and looked like they were having a great time on stage. Yes, I would have loved to have seen the setlist changed up but they deserve credit for keeping he setlist varied.

I thought the energy level of the crowd was a little off tonight. Maybe too many shows in the market, but I am glad I went.

I'm happy that I didn't go to any shows on this tour and haven't seen them since 2004.

Just got back from Barclay's. Here's my review.

I'm born and raised in Brooklyn, and I knew when tomorrow came, I'd probably be saying "I really should have went" so I bought a cheap ticket. I'm only a few minutes walking from Barclay's. Tix were inexpensive (the ones I was eyeing) so I figured, I really should go. It's Kiss in Brooklyn after all.

(The crowd: yes there were a lot of empty seats, but with the show in motion and the lights on the crowd, it still looked full enough not to be embarrassing. Considering it was the fourth area show, Kiss did very well.)

How I went....as I said before, I went with different eyes. I viewed the show as a "show," not a "concert." I know Paul lip-syncs. I know the band isn't what it used to be, even this lineup. I know Eric doesn't play piano. I know I do not like Tommy and Eric portraying Ace and Peter. So I have no right to complain about those things today since I went to the show by my choice. No one dragged me. I did see some friends before and after so that was good.

The show....you gotta give it to Kiss in one big regard, compensating for what the band is today, they pull out all the trappings. The show has to cost a fortune. The stage, while not "classic Kiss," is beautiful and the FX are pretty spectacular. No matter what one thinks of anything else, the show (and again, it's a show) was very enjoyable and looked great.

The show seemed to go in phases. Paul seemed especially psyched about playing Brooklyn, and hit the stage on all cylinders (for Paul), with Gene kind of ho-hum at the start. However, Gene picked it up early on and pretty much turned the show into the Gene Simmons Show, he totally ended up dominating for a while. The Gene songs, I Love It Loud, War Machine, Dr Love, all killer. Paul though, kept up a real nice pace and held his own, especially on the 80s tunes Lick It Up and Heaven's on Fire.

Tommy and Eric, they made a few flubs here and there but, and I'm not gonna pick on them here, they are drab guys and pretty much were non-factors for excitement. Gene and Paul are Kiss and those guys take a backseat far behind every time. Gene and Paul are stars - they are not.

Anyway, the show rolls along and it's good for what it is. However, because every little thing is so meticulously planned out, it does become a bit boring in the middle because it's so by-the-numbers.

What saved the show? Paul seemed to step it up, maybe he knew it was needed, and when he zipped (very fast) to his own stage, he was pretty much on fire. "Love Gun" was fantastic, but the true showstopper of the night was absolutely "I Was Made for Lovin' You," because dammit man, that still is a killer kick-ass song and it woke up a lot of sleepy people and people were singing and dancing. I thought it was the high point of the night.

There was one genuine surprise for me, and that is when they actually played "Crazy, Crazy Nights" as the middle encore. For me personally, that was the absolute best part of the show, and I never thought I would be saying that, but it's true. It's a fun, great song, and unfortunately, a lot of the crowd seemed clueless about it. But for me, it was the big finish of actually feeling nostalgic of the 80s, because the 80s Kiss songs were done well and it reminded me just how much FUN the 80s were and especially 80s Kiss concerts. "Crazy, Crazy Nights" was a phenomenal way to just about end the show, just fantastic, even if many didn't seem moved. I loved it.

Of course, RARAN followed and yup, I shouted the chorus with everyone and the show ends with a bang.

What did it all mean for me, who is constantly critical of what Kiss is today? Like I said, I went in with different eyes. I went in wanting to see some bombs and fire (and some of the fire was HOT all the way back too), sing along to some songs, and see Gene and Paul again, maybe for the final time. Those were my expectations, and I received what I expected. I was glad that both those guys (especially Paul) seemed to get into the show (even if a lot of the crowd needed some waking up sometimes). So yes, going into it like that, with just those expectation, I had a fun time, it was worth what I paid ($56) and I'm glad I went.
