set list lately as it was when I saw them a year ago.
Venue looks nice though. Plus it’s the first week of school around these parts, can’t imagine they will draw a
Massive Sunday night crowd.

Also heard them playing Deuce and SIOL as I was driving up.

Problem is, it's raining...just a little sprinkle but enough to be irritated.

Cool place to see a show,however. It's about 45 min from me. Too early of a wakeup for work and to be honest,just tired of the setlist.

What'd it get you?

I'm always tickled pink with the VIP. Roughly four hundred bucks usually gets you 4th to 7th row and more often than not it affords me an aisle.

As always...how was the crowd?

I spoke with some of their crew last year at their Bridgeport CT show and he said the band doesn't actually even do the soundcheck anymore. It's just the road crew.

Pretty sure the band does their own soundcheck... it is why they have one - set onstage monitor levels etc.
And, yes, it is not uncommon to have crew members blow through a couple tunes to get front of house levels dialed in, but I doubt they do the 'whole soundcheck' and then verbalize how the settings are back to the band.

I can confirm it was them doing the sound check. I thought it was techs playing Deuce as well until I heard Gene yell "yeah!" at the end. And then they got to Paul's verse in SIOL and it was him as well

No, it's (almost) always the krew doing soundchecks. Saw about 10 soundchecks in the past 2 years and it was always the krew. They always do TNT with Fran (Paul's tech) sometimes singing. So if they did their own soundcheck in Aurora, that was actually a bit special. On tour, the band arrives about an hour before the meet and greet time - set up and sound check are mostly done by that point, unless they have problems. On the last euro tour, they had some issues with the Kabuki (the falling KISS kurtain) once or twice. They'll keep trying until it works. They have a brilliant krew. Never stressed, always top super professional. Always great seeing them do their thing.
