Apparently part of "Shandi" was performed by Paul prior to Crazy Nights...

Re: KISS World 2017 - May 7, Oslo, Norway
I was at tonight´s show with my two sons (aged six and eight). No surprises in the setlist, but Paul did a solo version of Shandi before introducing Crazy Nights "from 1988". This impro allowed him to use his mellow Soul Station kind of voice, but it was still painful to hear and see.
In his stage raps, he sounds like an angry Japanese or something. Full throttle HAIaaa HOOOyaaa, but he can´t sustain it. The pipes just aren´t there anymore. To rub salt to the wounds, the wire thing-y that takes him to the other stage didn´t work properly, so he embarrassingly had to abort that mission (after the 1-2-3-PAUL audience screams).
Oh, and when doing his "throw the mic up in the air and catch it" routine at the end of RNRAN, he missed it completely and it dropped to the floor. Not a good night for Paulie.
Gene was his regular self, Toomy was Toomy and Eric is actually starting to look like a Reunion era Peter Criss. Guess it´s an age thing.
It was what it was. A great nostalgia trip, but also kinda sad to see the state of Paul. My kids were awestruck the first couple of songs, but got tired and bored half way through the set. DRC couldn´t have come any later.

"I just can't pretend no more // I keep runnin out of lies" is very apropos. Ditch Paul and #MakeKISSGreatAgain
EDIT: The only thing that'd make this sadder is if KISS got rid of him instead of Ace in 1982, and Paul had been slumming it in clubs and dive bars and this was just a video of one of his recent "Paul Stanley's KISS Experience" shows in some dive in a small town in middle America.

Re: KISS World 2017 - May 7, Oslo, Norway
I enjoyed the show quite a bit, maybe more than expected.
The show with the bombs, the lights, lasers, cherrypickers etc was quite cool, I must say.
The sound was also pretty good, and I especially enjoyed hearing Tommy's solos so clearly in the mix.
He plays what he is hired to do very well. He will never be as technical as Bruce or Vinnie, but he is certainly a better Ace than Ace will ever be....
I also thought that the show worked musically, despite Paul's voice being so damaged.
Even Crazy Nights and IWMFL. . It's music to move to and sing along with, not to sit down and analyze delicate details. Paul still delivers the main lines (no pun intended) in the melodies. The whole was strong enough to carry that weak link. Gene still rules as a vocalist anyway, and seemed more adventurous than ever on the bass. He seemed to be improvising more than I can remember.
I stood on the floor and people seemed to be pretty intended on having a good time, with lots of hands in the air, clapping and singing along. Even Flaming youth seemed to please more than just the diehards.
So I had a good time, it didn't blow me away, but it was nice and I'm glad I went.
There's one thing watching youtube, another one being there soaking in the atmosphere.
It's not hard to enjoy KISS live in 2017 if you want to enjoy it, even though Paul etc etc....

That would be passable if he and Tommy came out together and did it as a duet, with Tommy harmonizing on all the bits where we know Paul's voice will break.
There are ways to get around these issues - yet Paul is too stupid or stubborn to see it.

KISS - a stale affair
Once the biggest band in the world and presently living high on that reputation. Sunday night saw them in Oslo - or at least some of them as it is no longer KISS on stage.
It is the evil twin-brother, he who steals the last piece of chocolate and then denies - he who will claim everything your parents left you, he who will push you over and then run hiding behind mama, he who will be caught lying, but deny as long as possible...Yes, that one.
KISS (as well as their fans) are in some sort of denial as KISS nowadays are a stale affair. From the opening song (Deuce) and through most of the show, there's a subdued and reserved feeling about the performers and their audience. Paul is rusty, Gene anemic - but tell the believers that there is no God and there'll be an uproar.
That's somewhat the impression you get with KISS-fans...
Had I (red. the reviewer) been told at the age of 8 that I'd be able to get paid seeing KISS I'd have not believed them... I had the t-shirts, records, posters and dreamt away to the sound of Alive II many a time. The flames, the blood, the spectacle - the mayhem. Couldn't believe when I saw them for the first time in '83 - but even then reality didn't live up to expectations.
KISS 2017 is family entertainment, fathers with their sons on their shoulders, entire families in KISS make-up. Not much is left of the band that once provoked christians as well as conservatives. Sure, Gene and Paul are there, but there's a feeling of tribute/coveract about them when Tommy does 'Shock Me' and Eric 'Black Diamond'...
It is revealing that there was not any greater line of people by the merch-stands. Fans are primarily interested in Gene and Paul and the original act, so the stuff at the merch which has items signed by or featuring Eric and Tommy is not in any higher demand.
It is painful to watch one of rock's greatest frontmen (Paul) and his vocal challenges. Is he even aware how bad it is - yes, they're older, but it is then not better to admit the decline and retire?
KISS did try to raise the level of excitement at the Spektrum, but ultimately it was discount-KISS.
KISS gave what they were required to do, but not more than so....
The 'new guys' Tommy and Eric are better musicians than their predecessors. Ace could never play the same thing twice and Peter often lost track of himself (and the band) while playing, but it had its charm - something that the more efficient new guys, though more accomplished, never manage to deliver.
The videostills during 'Flaming Youth' really sums it up - we miss KISS...
There's a feeling of robbing the grave with current KISS, a feeling of Spinal Tap when certain parts of the shows go wrong...
Low-cost stage-design, big screens that really aren't that big, bombs that are over the top, stageprops that doesn't work - those are the things that sum up KISS 2017 - but doubtful if KISS even cares...
That is why it's sad to see fans paying good money to see KISS. KISS at the Spektrum was a stale affair and something an eight-year old in 1980 is glad he didn't know would come later on in life.

Yeah I read the review in Dagsavisen, and you don't have to be Donald Trump to think "fake news".
It was really a stupid review, full of errors, lies and strange ramblings. Simply a guy who though he is much smarter than he is, who wrote that. I couldn't even get mad, it was so silly.
But elsewhere, there was good news too, when it comes to KISS and the Norwegian media. VG the biggest tabloid gave them 4 out of 6 and said that KISS was far from the worst of classic rock band, like you could do far worse, even though they had to mention that KISS reminds them a bit about a certain norwegian kiddies show includin a pirate in make-up!
But that's not offensive. Gene would have loved that show anyway.

Crowd: ca 8000 (Sold out)
The setlist:
Deuce
Shout it out loud
Lick it up
I love it loud
Love gun
Firehouse
Shock me
Flaming youth
War machine
Shandi
Crazy nights
Cold gin
Say yeah
Let me go rock'n roll
Phsyco circus
Black diamond
Rock and roll all night
I was made for lovin' you
Detroit rock city
Paul played Shandi due to Gene was having some problems getting loose from the wires, after returning to ground from the platform.
Paul didn't fly because of technical problems with the equipment, he was stopped by a technician because of safety. As an compensation, Paul promised to walk the streets in Oslo the day after and write autoghraps to those who wanted one.
Btw. The consert was solid.
