I live on the West side about 4 minutes away from the Covelli Center...there are places to eat around federal plaza about 3 blocks north west from the arena..parking will be awful so park early...there is also a porno store south on Rt 7 about 2 miles from the arena too...."the federal" restaurant was featured in "Bar rescue"....the hot dog restaurant is good but expensive....there is a lot to the right of the arena if you are facing it...STAY AWAY FROM SOUTH AVE ...is all ghetto there

Dead Daisies are off the stage and we're waiting for the main event. It's my first show since August 10, 2014. I was banking on KISS doing a few B markets in the U.S. last year. If I knew they weren't gonna I would've went to Italy. It's been far to long.

Showtime. :D

Not for nothing, I really wanted to work in the Toledo show and Lionel Richie on Saturday...one or the other or both. I mean I was in town! My previous engagements afforded me neither.

What can I say about a KISS show? We've seen it all before. That's the beauty of it. They hit all the marks they're supposed to. Like Paul Stanley says, "When you order a Big Mac you don't want any surprises." I will say the addition of lasers was pretty cool. The way they bounced off the floor though the rising smoke was a great effect. It complimented the rest of what we know quite nicely.

As for the "U. S. Troops-centric" part of the show? I loved it! For starters I support the military ONE THOUSAND PERCENT. My pops is a ten year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in Vietnam. He has more balls than I'll ever have. He was in intelligence and was stationed in Istanbul for a while. He has a Midnight Express story that makes the movie look like the Brady Bunch. When he wears his Vietnam Vet hat it warms my heart to see people stop him on the street an thank him. Secondly it was AWESOME to recite the pledge of allegiance with a packed arena of my fellow KISS Army brothers and sisters screaming at the top of our lungs. My friends with kids tell me they don't even say the pledge in school anymore. What kind of shit is that? I also thought the fighter jets going by on the upper video screens at the end of the Star Spangled Banner was a nice touch. It brought me back to 9/11. I happened to be in Manhattan that morning. All mass transit was locked down, so we all had to hoof it over the 59th St Bridge to get the hell out of there. When I heard the boys flying overhead in the jets it made me feel safe on my journey getting off the island that day. If you're against any of the above things I can understand you not appreciating that part of the concert. If you agree? I can't imagine you not loving it.

The place was packed to the rafters. I'll elaborate on that more in another thread. :D As in recent years I'm surprised to see how many hands go up on the "How many of you are first timers?" question. Then again looking back the same amount of hands might of gone up if he asked the question during the HITS tour. Who knows? Either way it's good to see new recruits. The crowd was into the show and energetic. That's always a plus. It was a lovely arena, very similar to Mohegan, probably a bit smaller. One thing I didn't enjoy was that will call was at a separate entrance than the box office. Meaning that you had to go through security to get to it. That also means there were no re entries if you left. I don't want to be weighed down by my swag at a show. The staff was pretty adamant about the policy but you have to understand that ol' Nibbs' verbal judo is second to none. Crisis overted as I stored my KISS bag, license plate, laminated ticket, and guitar picks in my rental but it really is a bad experience on their part. Who designed that shit?

It was great that one of our own FAQers came up and said, "Hi". We exchanged a few stories and had a laugh at the expense of a couple of you. No names...you know who you are. :D

One of the most interesting parts of the evening was my interaction with my VIP concierge. I always try to start a rapport with them. I'll be seeing them a bunch of times in the upcoming weeks and I try to get whatever info I can. Don't quote me on this but it appears the Uncasville show is considered part of another leg. I don't know if that means a bunch more shows on the way or what. I hope so. I'll try to get more info in Allentown. I'm really hoping for a KMTPOTP feel at the Great Allentown Fair. Either way I'm getting me a ton of zeppoles. I LOVE using Phil Leotardo's line E-V-E-R-Y time I order fried dough..."Light on the sugar honey, they tell me I'm sweet enough." BOOMBA BABY! I can't get enough of that one.

Ah. Nothing quite like a KISS show. It was so great to be back. To quote the immortal Ben Orzechowski. It was just what I needed.

KISS Army forever
