Not close to the protest... but this place is dripping with people. Ace went on @ 9:15....

Opened with Rip It Out, Gimme a Feelin', Toys, Parasite (Ace kills on this everytime), Snowblind (same here... and I may be missing one here), Love Gun, Breakout (which Richie fucked up... as he dedicated the song to Eric Carr but started playing 2 Fast 2 Die... before Ace corrected him!!); Space Invader; KOTNWorld, Strutter; Change; bass solo-Strange Ways (now)... no Anton so far.... lotsa love for the Kiss songs, AND the S.Invader songs actually... Ace is in good spirits... good show so far!! 3rd I've seen, and maybe the best...

P.S. Eddie Trunk did the intro...

Additional songs so far:

Rock Soldiers (I always think I am sick of it, but it kills)
New York Groove (to a sea of iphones)
Shock Meeeee (now)... very spirited crowd, much better than lame island.

2 Young 2 Die
And Rocket Ride end the original set.
Awaiting the encores.

Ace's better Quotes of the night:
After Strutter: "Scottie Coogan on lead vocallllls... singin the way Paul used to... WHAT HAPPENED! Dooooh..." (delivered Dice style) this was pretty funny.

"Gene Simmons says rock and roll is dead... he's outta his fucking mind!"

And here we now have
Detroit Rock City.... (yes, I would trade this for Nothing Can Keeep Me from you backwards at this point... not a signature guitar part for Ace, whereas Love Gun.... I get it.)

Next:
Cold Gin time again!! :drunken:

AND ENDING WITH:
DEUCE!

So no big changes, but Shot Full of Rock is completely gone and/or lost in Limbo are gone... if I vaguely remember those were in, early on.

Yes, Shot was in the setlist as recent as last Thursday when I saw Ace. Limbo opened the first few shows but was replaced with Rip It Out.

Holy crap, that was an absolutely awesome performance of that song. That might be the best I've ever heard him do it. That band he has right now is fantastic.

Sounds like a good time--sorry I missed it but I jsut couldn't do it so soon after getting back from Vegas. That said---I also am not in love with Ace's setlist--too much non-Ace oriented KISS stuff in my mind--would have preferred things like Hard Times, Dark Light, Torpedo Girl, etc....

Great show, a ton of energy last night. Same setlist minus Shot Full of Rock again. I got about 290 pictures and a bunch of videos.

Ace was in fine form and great spirits. His playing was on last night, just with the typical Ace blips. The crowd energy was electric and much better than last Thursday out in Huntington.

I caught 2 picks from Ace and a towel, and 1 pick from Chris Wyse.

Caught up with Mets briefly before the show started, it's always nice seeing some FAQ'er's out and about

Very cool. Just wondering if you don't mind me asking. I recently purchased a "low end" good camera. What settings do you use to take pictures at a show? A lot of my pictures turned out blurry when someone on stage was in movement. Thanks!

Ah man, now I feel like such a rookie. I only had my Iphone on me  . And actually am planning on getting my first "real" camera in about a month.

I know there is a way around that though, something to do with the speed but right now I am clueless! That'll be my winter project

Just a couple from last night.

By the way, sorry that they post sideways. I have no idea why they post that way here on the FAQ.

I have to agree with the above posts. This was a great show. Its been 6 years since I've seen Ace and he kicked ass. He played great. It's nice to see him in fine form. The only things I could pick on would be Richie screwing up the intro to Breakout (pretty funny if you ask me). And his voice ain't what it used to be. Still has passion but more lower an grovely than ever. But he played his ass off and was more animated than ever. Glad he's back. Scott Coogan sang his ass off. He did a great job back there. He's no Anton on the drums but I don't think I could complain with anything he played. Chris Wyse held it all down nicely and had a great bass solo that led into Strange Ways , one my favorites. They smoked this song. Just a classic. I really wanted Shot Full OF Rock. Probably my favorite Ace post-Kiss solo song. But it was dropped from the set for this show. The new songs fit in nicely with the classics. Gimme A Feelin rocked. Everything rocked. All around I had a great time and was not disappointed. This was my 22 Ace show since 87. But only my second since he left Kiss for the second time. So I've seen him when he was great and when he wasn't so great, Last night everyone was firing on all cylinders. And he just has a way of making those classic KISS songs sound great live. His guitar sound is KISS to me. And he sounded great last night.
