That should be the it, he introduced "Cold Gin" by saying "time for 1 more".
@EddieTrunk - "Ace told me backstage before the show he forgot to work Rip It Out into the set (classic Ace!) but would add it in future shows."

Pretty good set list. It'll be interesting to see how many songs he changes in and out. I assume him and the boys know 5 other songs. Rip It Out being one of them

surprised to see outerspace not make it .. would like to have heard more ace tunes then the kiss kover songs. he has a strong enough solo catalog, no need to place strutter, love gun, etc...

Re: Nov. 13 - New Brunswick, NJ (SpACE Invader)
Had a blast.. Lost in Limbo was an awesome opener.
I didn't stop dancing the whole show. was so much fun.
worst techs and soundperson ever. Ace came out firing. glitches were not his fault.
Love gun, King of the nighttime world, strange ways, space invader and Lost is limbo into Gimmie a feelin sounded awesome.
Didn't mind the Scarlet stuff, wish there was more Anomaly and Space Invader tracks. Vocally Ace was spot on.
That label, or management company needs to fire that crew. Stage seemed chaotic and it clearly was no fault of Ace, if anything, the errors
slowed him down. You can chalk it up to an opening night but the errors that were made by the crew were incompetence.
Over all...Loved it, had a blast.

Just got back. Great show. Technical issues suck and caused them to skip "Change", but it was a great show.
With that said, I'm always shocked when for some reason he skips "Rip It Out". That one should always be in the set.

Reading that setlist and the reviews, what a great start to my day! Thanks to all who reported back from the show, I'll have to watch the live clips after work this evening.
Lost In Limbo as an opener - wow, never would have guessed that one! But it's one of my favs on Trouble Walkin', very happy to have it in there. And Change, wow, hopefully it will be played tonight!...
So Ace forgot to work Rip It Out into the set?? LOL! Sure. Only Ace could make such an excuse I'm with RF, would be odd not to hear that one at an Ace show.
Looks like Richie's presence is definitely felt

Great setlist.
I would have included Rip It Out though, definate Ace live staple.
Less KISS songs like Love Gun etc.
Great to hear Lost In Limbo was played too.
Fingers crossed he tours Australia next year, I wanna see him perform with Ritchie Scarlett.

I too was there - great show but the previous posters were right about the technical snafus. Ace kept asking the crew to crank up the volume on his guitar. I too was dissappointed they didnt do Change. They started it and Ritchie's guitar was not tuned for it. Wouldn't you have a guitar already tuned correctly or have a tech do it right on the spot? I don't know. Anyway, I loved not knowing the setlist going in and was thrilled to hear what I heard. I would have liked to hear more but Ace make the typical Union comment at around 10:40. Peformance wise? Ritchie was fun to watch, He and Ace play well together and it shows, his drummer and bassist did great work on their vocals. Sound? Except for Ace at times needing his guitar cranked, they sounded tight, all of the songs sounded fresh. Quite frankly hearing Love Gun was cool only to hear Ace play the solo. Love Strutter and King of the Nighttime World and was glad to hear a variety of songs from various points in Ace's career.

The band are really good and the set is interesting. Hopefully the kinks are worked out by the time of your show and you get the full set.......and maybe a few changes here and there.nibbler1982 wrote:Looks like one hell of a setlist. Yes. They started it but very quickly realized that there was a tuning issue. The ended up not having enough time to go back even though he said they'd play it later.Rhiannon wrote:Can someone explain if any of CHANGE was played? Really hope that stays in the set....great song from INVADER!

It's a good set indeed, but absolutely no need for something like "Love Gun." And very bummed he's not doing "Dark Light" for the fans. Still ... got chills seeing those opening videos. He looks good. Definitely dropped a few pounds over the last few months. Seeing Richie bouncing around takes me right back to seeing them in the 90s. Can't wait for next week.

Maybe/maybe not. Early days in the tour. Get through the first show with the new songs first. Then see how the set works in a live setting. Then perhaps tweak it and swap out songs for "Dark Light." Read message boards to determine what the experts think from their computer desks. Cherry pick reviews from those who actually attended. I wasn't expecting three songs from the album. Surprised at no Anomaly stuff. Wish he'd drop "Love Gun," for another of HIS tunes. But pretty impressed overall.

Great thread, that stage shot was cool...
What Every Girl Wants should be in I would have thought - killer tune, good to see a few Space Invader tracks in there. Such a strong album he could have any of about 6-8 songs at least.

Re: Nov. 13 - New Brunswick, NJ (SpACE Invader)
I'm stunned at how many people are saying this is a good setlist. Scot sang more 70s KISS songs then Ace sang songs from his 78 solo album. That's a good thing?????
Darklight had the most votes of any song on Ace's site but he doesn't play it. That's a good thing? In fact he didn't play a single song of his from Dynasty or Unmasked, but that's a good thing?
Fans voted for Into The Night as one of the top 80s songs they wanted to hear, and he doesn't play it. That's a good thing?
Sorry, I just don't see how this was even close to a good setlist. And I've got tickets to 2 shows in the next 10 days. I will be glad to see him do Rocket Ride, Shock Me, NY Groove and a few others. And it's good to see Ace out there again. But if I look at this objectively, that is not close to the setlist die hard Ace fans want to see, I would think. I'm shocked you guys feel this was good.

Nice set but kill the Paul songs and play Rip It Out, Touble Walkin and Outer Space. And i prefer I Wanna Hold You to Toys but some here like Toys more than i do. Gotta check the dates and see if they're coming near here at all.
No date for Atlanta yet. Don't expect him to come to Birmingham but Hot-lanta is a possibility.

Yeah I noticed quite a few issues with Ace and remembering the words to some of the songs. Sometimes he sang the wrong verse and other times he sang nothing at all. Perhaps chalk it up to first night jitters?bluedog wrote:DownNeckKiss wrote: Vocally Ace was spot on.

I didn't go so it is hard for me to critique something I didn't attend. However, based on what I'm reading, the setlist sounds fun to me. Sure, there are some songs I would trade out but overall, I'm sure I'd love it if I was actually there.

Re: Nov. 13 - New Brunswick, NJ (SpACE Invader)
It was a great show, dudes!
Ace does sound good vocally - yes, he's off mike sometimes, but the actual sound of his vocals is good.
The whole thing with Ace is CLARITY - there isn't that "fog" that has been there in the past with the singing - or playing, for that matter.
The whole show was cool - Scarlet was tolerable, too. Good set list. The young guns are great players.
When you hear Ace play, MAN! The tone, the BALLS ... you kinda immediately know what's lacking in KISS; the EDGE.

I was on the fence about going but since this is for the most part the wet
I don't think its for me
I have zero desire to see- hear DRC , LG or as much as I love it KOTNW
When you largely ignore your best work , IMO , the 78 album
You don't do songs like Hard Times, Dark Light etc
It's just not for me
Unless some things drastically change with the set I gonna pass

Stupid question...but did they allow cameras into the show or did you have to sneak them in? Back in 08 when I saw him they didn't allow cameras...but a buddy of mine snuck his in and got some awesome photos. They were even making people delete photos off of their phones! Seems like I saw somewhere that no cameras were allowed...

I agree. This set list is NOT that great. 2 songs off his 78. No Sister. Too many leads by others. Glad Richie is back and glad to see Ace is touring, albeit a measly 3 weeks.

They made an announcement before the show began that no photography was allowed..........but everyone had their cameras out and no one tried to stop them. No big deal.Dynasty79 wrote:Stupid question...but did they allow cameras into the show or did you have to sneak them in? Back in 08 when I saw him they didn't allow cameras...but a buddy of mine snuck his in and got some awesome photos. They were even making people delete photos off of their phones! Seems like I saw somewhere that no cameras were allowed...

Indeed.RisingForce wrote:Just got back. Great show. Technical issues suck and caused them to skip "Change", but it was a great show.
With that said, I'm always shocked when for some reason he skips "Rip It Out". That one should always be in the set.
