Darklight had the most votes of any song on Ace's site but he doesn't play it. That's a good thing? In fact he didn't play a single song of his from Dynasty or Unmasked, but that's a good thing?

Fans voted for Into The Night as one of the top 80s songs they wanted to hear, and he doesn't play it. That's a good thing?

Sorry, I just don't see how this was even close to a good setlist. And I've got tickets to 2 shows in the next 10 days. I will be glad to see him do Rocket Ride, Shock Me, NY Groove and a few others. And it's good to see Ace out there again. But if I look at this objectively, that is not close to the setlist die hard Ace fans want to see, I would think. I'm shocked you guys feel this was good.

I agree. This set list is NOT that great. 2 songs off his 78. No Sister. Too many leads by others. Glad Richie is back and glad to see Ace is touring, albeit a measly 3 weeks.

Well, you now how we can be (ha ha) ... but you know what? For me, getting the Space Invader tunes, "Rock Soldiers," and "Snow Blind" was all I needed ... and the KISS tunes sounded good!

via Mr. Eddie Trunk on twitter (@EddieTrunk)

1. Lost In Limbo
2. Gimmie A Feelin'
3. Toys
4. Parasite
5. Snow Blind
6. Love Gun (Scott Coogan on vocals)
7. Breakout (Richie Scarlett on vocals, dedicated to Eric Carr)
8. Space Invader
9. King Of The Night Time World (Scott Coogan on vocals)
10. Strutter (Scott Coogan on vocals)
11. Change (partial, Eddie - "4th song from Space Invader "Change". Some tuning & technical snafus as Ace just explained its 1st night of tour & they stopped playing it.")
12. Strange Ways (Chris Wyse on vocals)
13. Rock Soldiers
14. New York Groove
15. Shock Me (w/guitar solo)
16. Rocket Ride
17. 2 Young 2 Die (Richie Scarlett on vocals)
18. Shot Full Of Rock
(encore)
19. Cold Gin
As others have said. How does he not play all the best songs from his KISS days? Barely touched '78, Dynasty and Unmasked were his shining moments with KISS ...ignored???? Ace has in the past had much better set lists. He usually played a deep album cut from KISS you'd never expect.

Ace was great last nite.....nice turn out.....majority of the floor filled....solid showing considering he's doing three more area appearances.....as burnt out as I am on hearing Love Gun, these guys played the shit out of it....best version I've heard in years.....and ace completely nailed the solo....tons of tech issues....at one particular time ace was calling for volume three times before he totally went off on his tech....the crew at this venue were a train wreck....great drums and bass and you know what you're getting with Scarlett....this band will iron out kinks and be a real bulldozer a week from now....they play hard and fast and it's great seeing ace be able to focus on playing as the drummer and Scarlett sang 5 tunes.....I'm proud of ace....he showed up on time and gave everyone of us our money's worth last night...my advice- catch this show for sure

Totally agree about "Love Gun" - the harmonies aren't the easiest, but it was pretty darn good!

Just saw the Trunk Report on the show. I have to disagree with him. I can't believe there are people going to see Ace Frehley in 2014 that don't know Dark Light and Too Young To Die. If there are, they are the vast minority of the crowd. I have to believe most people seeing Ace would rather hear those two songs than Love Gun and KOTNTW.

Photos from my friend Ron Akiyama. Ron took the majority of the photos in Ed's books. Old friend and a great photographer.

The last photo is of myself, Ed, Dave DiLorenzo and some guy dressed in Ace make up from South America. Go figure. David was the guitar player in Trigger after the original guitar player passed away. Trigger of course was discovered by Simmons and had put out a great record back in the last 70's.

Good times last night and by the time they get to BB Kings it will be killer.

Yeah, Ace singing out of key in Eb is better.

Good show, not great but still fun as hell. Have to agree about tracks off the solo record though, Ace needs to drop snoozers like "Love Gun" and "Cold Gin" from his setlist and replace those with some solo and/or "deep" cuts IMO. Richie Scarlet needs to tone it down a notch too or lay off the "coffee" before the show.

They were going to do another one but there were issues with the tuning, issues that were obvious three seconds into it. Not sure what track it was though. They ended up dropping it completely.

Yes. They started it but very quickly realized that there was a tuning issue. The ended up not having enough time to go back even though he said they'd play it later.
It turned out to be a kind of funny moment. It sounded bad right off the bat and Ace was vigorously shaking his head like "no no NO!" then they aborted it. He handled it well though, I saw Ace in AC back in 2010 and he blew up a few times over tech issues, kicking things and whatnot.

I agree. I absolutely love Ace, but I'm pretty disappointed with his need to feel that he HAS to deliver more KISS songs than his solo material. :|

On this night there were 11 solo songs if we include "Change"......10 if we don't.......and 8 KISS songs. Of those 8 KISS songs, Ace wrote 5 of them.
