Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll
Black Diamond

That's a damn fine setlist. Wish I could have been there. Maybe I'll get to see it on Youtube, after all?

Wow i think KI66 is about to get booted. Totally lost it.

CarrJam. Maybe it's time you and some others go find a new favorite band. It seems very obvious to me you guys are not Kiss fans anymore. Please go hit the Rush and Deep Purple boards from now on. Nothing in life is worth being this upset about especially not the setlist of a Kiss show. I mean seriously, it just not that damn important. I don't take this shit that seriously so there's no way my head is up P&G's asses. And yea i bring up Ace and Peter because so many in here trash P&G like everything is their fault amd they're such liars and assholes. Sorry but i will point out Ace and Peter's issues as long as so many keep trashing P&G. Can't handle that? Leave. Or, become a realist and accept things the way they are rather than getting pissed about the way they are not. Life is full of disappointment. Shit happens every day. I CHOOSE to not allow what goes on with a rock band to ruin my day. That doesn't make me a sheep or a homer or a nutswinger. It means i accept things the way they are, glass half full. I guess facing reality is too much for some people because of their dedication to Ace and Peter. I get that dedication. Ace is my favorite guitarist EVER! But that doesn't mean i have to wear blinders and blame P&G for him quitting Kiss twice. I can imagine what P&G had to deal with almost daily. Sure Gene's a prick who can't get his facts straight. But the same goes with Peter. What's the difference? Not one damn thing. Stop taking sides and just enjoy the last few years. If you can't then you have to be fair to yourself and walk away.

That's not that bad of a setlist. They did change it more than I thought they would. Paul has seemingly recognized the need to back off a bit and they didn't waste time on Tommy/Eric solos. War Machine at #3 is odd - let's see what the future holds.

You enjoy the personal attacks don't you... That's about 4 just in this thread !
Are you denying that all through this thread you've said that it doesn't matter what order the songs are played only to go back on it by saying that it had no flow ? Should I post everything you said so there's no confusion ? You said it so you need to wear it.
And by the way, I got laid last night but thanks for your concern...

Sounds like they shook up the setlist. These songs have been pretty regular lately and were not played. Granted they didn't go obscure but it was a shakeup, just not a major shakeup
Next concert they could do these plus a couple of tonight and it's still a great setlist!

Still waiting for shake ups?? They're right there!
That just shows how some people are never happy. A few FACTS.

KOTNTW: Last played in Utah in 1996, 18 years ago.
War Machine: 1992, 22 years ago.
HYH: 1990, 24 years ago
Christine Sixteen: 1977, 37 years ago
Makin Love: 1977, 37 years ago
Psycho Circus, 2000, 14 years ago

But, KISS did not mix up the set list tonight. Those people in Utah should demand a refund right away.
No one said ANYTHING about refunds moron..and I don't know where you got your dates from but just about all of them are wrong.
You should take your bad attitude to the streets where you would actually have to back it up. Such a negative Nancy.

Jesus god it's happened again. Another thread in which I was totally stoked to read was completely ruined and overshadowed by a bunch of people who expend more energy insulting each over behind the security of their computers than actually discussing what the initial thread was actually about.

This thread is about the show for tonight, not what constitutes as a gem of a setlist or who is the most negative kiss fan etc.

As far as I'm concerned, tonight was the best kiss we are gonna get at this point. Like it? Awesome. Don't like it? Find another message board to interact your (hopefully more positive) opinion into as opposed to polluting this board with tired, stale, daily-recycle issues you have with the band. Paul had fewer songs. Okay, cool. For those that think Paul's voice sucks (which, comparative to 5 years ago, yes it does), you should be happy he has less songs, as opposed to griping about how kiss are sacrificing who they are and their integrity for the prospect of making an almighty dollar(which yes, is arguably true, but this is an also-tired argument).

The wye did have SOME shakeups. HYH? Opening with KOTNTW? That is in fact some shake ups. If you expect them to play an hour and 20 minutes of a Trevor trove of rarities, gems and all but forgotten deep cuts, you're an idiot. As someone noted in this thread earlier, they have never been about that. Hell, even alive 2, which was meant to showcase their "biggest hits" from 76-77, was specially recorded because they were still essentially playing the same setlist as 75/76, with the exception of a few injected recent cuts from RARO, DEST and LG, this band is catering to
The masses now, not the most devout, know-all members of this kiss army, as any band at this stage in their career is. KISS doesn't have the high numbers of core, die hard fans than other bands may have, and the audience to play those types of tracks just isn't there. With the addition of Thayer and singer, a divisive front has been put up in which many "die hard"
Fans have chose to turn their cheeks and no longer embrace the band. The band as of now (and post farewell tour essentially) now focuses on appealing to the nostalgia-hungry 21st generationers who want to see kiss playing the songs they are (at least vaguely) familiar with. You wanna hear almost human? You wanna hear the oath? You'll have to
See them in a club to hear that, because this version of kiss (or any version, outside of special
Scenarios intended for die-hards such as the cruise or conventions) you'll have to see in a club, which will not happen.

This is kiss 2014. To compare it to years past is silly, unrealistic and pipe/dreamish at best. Either accept it for what it is, or appreciate the band for what it was (or once was) to you.

People like KI66 really just come off as people that have a lot of anger and self-esteem issues and use message boards as a way to vent in a very safe way that has almost zero consequences outside of getting banned. It must greatly satisfy a need or void in their lives or they wouldn't spend as much time and energy as they do acting out like this. To me it seems sad and socially awkward - almost like their talent at pissing matches somehow helps overcompensate for something. KISS is just a rock and roll band which exists to make life FUN. Chill my brother.

I think it's a good setlist since I only expected Hide Your Heart and KOTNTW to be "new".

This thread was entertaining to read, with complainers losing their minds over the most trivial shit once again.

Having cast a quick initial lance at the set list for a moment i thought that he show was opened with the King Of The Mountain. Not a big fan of Asylum, but for that moment I felt I would be thirsty for that song as the opener on this tour.

This is what is wrong with KISS fans today; We all think they are our own personal band !
I understand fans being tired of LICK IT UP, I LOVE IT LOUD, LOVE GUN etc. great songs and they always go over well, but they've been played a lot over the last decade. But we complain when they don't add anything obscure, then we complain because the obscure songs they do add aren't the ones we personally like !

When was the last time HIDE YOUR HEART was played ? 1990 ?
CHRISTINE SIXTEEN ? Maybe 2004 ?
KING OF THE NIGHTTIME WORLD ? 2009 ?
MAKIN' LOVE certainly hasn't been overplayed in recent years...

It seems to me that unless they play 10 songs that have almost never been heard we complain. KISS has never done this, why expect it now ???

But it's been seen for so many times. Gene could spit some blood for a couple of times occasionally during some songs but not during that long well known ritual. No solos, no slow rituals hopefully have brought more dynamics into the show. That's a positive move. If also Paul seized rapping, it would be more better to both his voice and dynamics of the entire show.

I love Cold Gin - a KISS classic. Love it at number 2.

Nothing wrong with the setlist. It beats their songs from their last tour; though I notice no love for the Boom or Monster.

Why are people saying there were no blood spitting?

Like with Paul's flying, if Love Gun wasn't played, they probably changed it to ILIL (Not suitable with C16 because of menstruation).

If they DID skip the blood I'm sure it will be back VERY soon.

SIGH.

OK, just to update the trash has been taken out.

Now, regarding the show. No major shakeups with the exception of "Hide Your Heart", but I didn't expect any with a shortened set. Unfortunately the set just confirmed for me why I didn't get tickets this time around, knowing it would be mostly the a shorter version of the same old same old for a ridiculous price.

And still..... 40 years later our favorite band is still kicking ass, descending on a giant spider and playing to thousands of people.

Glad that poll about all the KISS fans that aren't going to attend the tour, was relevant! :)

The 40 losers who answered the poll about not attending the tour, are now trolling here to dump on everyone else's party, plain and simple.

They're missing out. They have for a long time.

Rock on!

star_paul12 wrote:Jesus god it's happened again.

Bravo!

Just pointing out what we're seeing on the last 10 pages... as usual.

Be nice to see people enjoy a show without getting dumped on by people who weren't there and never will.

No, you are senselessly insulting others when the vast majority of those you talked about didn't even enter this thread. So again, you might want to tone down the bashing of other posters if you'd like to stick around. If not, that's up to you. The choice is yours.

By the way, just a quick observation....

Def Leppard played a set pretty much consisting of their hits and concert staples and most of the comments have praised their setlist.

Kiss did the same and the comments have been mixed. I wouldn't be surprised to find out on Def Leppard forums that their fans have mixed feelings about their set list and are a little more favorable to Kiss'.

Based on the comments about Def Leppard's setlist, it's easy to see why Kiss plays what they do.

KOTNW-
They sound pretty damn good. Paul sounds good. Great opening song. Let's see where this road takes us...the set-list hopefully will change throughout and have several lists

to play from mixing it up night after night. I don't expect dramatic changes...but it looks as though things are off to a good start.

Cool, something different.

Will last about 3 shows though max, lol.
No way Geno got the lyrics correct on this one. Odds?
For some reason he butchers lyrics on Christine and Domino. Pretty funny and almost part of the allure of hearing those songs now.
