The highlights from last night's show for me were War Machine and the re-addition of that jam at the end of Black Diamond. OVerall, I was pleased with Def Leppard and KISS both, warts and all. Glad I decided to go. Next up, Judas Priest in Evansville, yeah buddy!

Silly, don't you remember last year when we were told by someone here that bringing kids to a KISS show was really a form of child abuse, because it's clear the kids don't want to be there, but the parents are dragging them there??

That is such bullshit. When I saw KISS play in Jones Beach in 2012, there were a group of kids sitting near me and my parents and they looked like they had an absolute blast.

I'll post a review later when I get back from my basketball game. Nothing too long, just a quick recap. I don't anticipate being on his site much after the show last night. Just wanted a place to discuss the band and build excitement for the show last night.

my 52nd show

-Paul sounded AMAZING. i don't know what he has done but its working. That being said, he is NOT paul of old.

-he seems to be flying out and back faster

-love the coda on Black Diamond, just wish they would lengthen it like they did 30 years ago

-hate that they dropped let me go rock n roll

-they seemed very mobile

-Gene's blood is too watery. it doesn't stay on his face like it used to

-i noticed few off spots here and there, but nothing too terrible.

-paul sounded great on Cold Gin. just like on Alive

- the spider rig was anti climatic and kind of got in the way of the screens at times

-the crowd sounded louder for Def Leppard

-Def Leppard were definitely being helped on the background vocals

-Joe Elliot voice has dropped more than Paul's

-Phil Collen needs to deflate and grow some chest hair

-Def Leppard doesn't suck any more or less than they did before I saw them

- you could have easily smuggled in booze or other concert accessories.

they also addressed that question on a music show years ago ...( someone can find it im sure , im lazy) lol but they sang something off HYSTERIA and it was amazing... they are great singers ... im doubting the canned tracks theroy a lot

BS, I saw Lep in 2006 at a small casino in northern Michigan and many people were offended at the backing tracks.

nope it's true, sorry. They have addressed the issue themselves multiple times and even performed a cappella to prove their point.

White Les Paul?

cool story...

my future father-in-law is a manager at the Gibson plant and sent me pics Wednesday of a brand new pretty white Les Paul being sent down the line for Tommy Thayer. They also had a black one being made for him that day. It's probably the one he played last night. They get guitarists coming into the plant all the time. He told me a couple years ago Ace popped in and signed several things while looking at a couple new guitars. He got a signed pick guard but gave it away because he's not a big KISS fan (and obviously didn't know me at the time).

True all the backing vocals are their own, the only exception being the spoken intro to Rock of Ages. I suppose its a compliment when people don't realise they can sing.

great show, though too short, of course, big loud crowd, Psycho Circus was a little sloppy, Paul broke a string and had to switch guitars during the breakdown, band seemed to get it together by Deuce, though Eric was dragging in a couple spots (most noticeably on Hide Your Heart where Paul had to do the old over-exaggerated slapping of his hip while stomping his boot to get Eric to pick up the tempo), was kinda weird seeing both bands play parts of Won't Get Fooled Again.

I recorded Def Leppard and KISS. I've got the Def Leppard show ready for everyone's ears. I will get my recording of KISS out there after I get back from vacation. Since asamphord got his out, I'm not in as big a hurry. lol

It IS true. I had access to their soundchecks on their tour with Journey. Not saying that they're not good singers but there absolutely were backing tracks. When not everyone is at the microphone and you're still hearing full choruses it's not hard to figure out.
