Thinking of Vince who went straight to hospital tonight with kidney stones!
##Shaye -
They were playing Live Wire & Vince left the stage. Then they did the pyro they usually leave til Kickstart & Nikki came back to the mic & told everyone Vince didn't want to cancel the show earlier today but now he had to leave because he was in too much pain & was on the way to hospital. They had four songs left.
Nikki promised they would be back (and that they would play four extra songs next time) and they left the stage. That was pretty much it..

Agreed. It is good to see them changing the set list up, but on the Monster Tour there needs to be more Monster songs played.Anomaly wrote:Oh c'mon, now they're down to just Hell or Hallelujah? What do they gain from Shock Me over Outta This World in the set?

They should be playing at least 4 songs from Monster.

Hell or Halleluiah
Wall of Sound

Shouldn't they have played longer ? This was the night that Vince had to leave early because of kidney stones ? Crue's show was cut short, so KISS had a little extra time.As the headliner, they should have been adding songs , not cutting them.

Oh Good Grief!
This is the lamest Kiss Set-List yet ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is only the sort of set-list to use when you have no new material out & you're playing some Summer Festival with 20 other bands!!!!!
This is the Monster Tour, Play the Monster stuff, even if you, at the very least, use One Slot to rotate the Entire Monster Album's songs in, Please do so!!!!!!
If this were the Beatles, they would be playing only the stuff from '63-'66 & only one tune off "Let It Be"!!!!

I have to agree. This set list is totally lame and they are just mailing it in for a paycheck. I cannot beleive they played "Shock Me" and dropped all Monster songs except HOH. Horrible.

I'm "just guessing" that could have been the case with Shock Me. It's just with MC's set cut to 9 songs because of Vince being in pain(kidney stones),KISS should have been ADDING a couple of songs to the set at this show.mikeenc wrote:Since it was the second night maybe they changed it just because they knew a lot of the same people would go??

Kiss' show is too highly choreographed for them to just go adding songs at short notice.kissthat wrote:mikeenc wrote:It's just with MC's set cut to 9 songs because of Vince being in pain(kidney stones),KISS should have been ADDING a couple of songs to the set at this show.

Clearly IWMFLY and Shandi are gone from the setlist for good, unless they play Shandi in Mackay as the tribute to the young lady killed.

It's A shame that Paul has such little patience for new tunes. The Monster tour has one song from Monster, and Tommy seeing Shock Me again? Sad.

1) It's overplayed, and overrated. It's good....but come on...

I say just rename the tour to the 40th Anniversary Tour, if you're on the 'Monster Tour' and you're not playing anything off the record you're supposed to be promoting then just rename the tour. No shame in that. Surprised Deuce wasn't cycled out with another rotating song, I don't wish it to be but I'm thinking this is going to be the setlist from here on out in Australia.db99 wrote:Agreed. Wonder if Vince will be back in action in Brisbane? If Crue don't go on to finish this tour KISS should re-add Christine Sixteen, Wall of Sound, Shandi, and I Was Made For Loving You. I'm still dumbfounded how their two biggest hits in Australia are not seeing any set time, it's ridiculous.kissthat wrote:Shouldn't they have played longer ? 3) The crowd doesn't react to it, if you're going to drop Tommy's song give him something new like 2000 Man or Talk To Me.
Also, reading theincrediblehull's post it says with War Machine there were risers. Something new during the show?
Re: Aussie Monster #6: Sydney, 3/10/13
If anyone cares to look at some facts about this Australian tour, they'll see that the setlist has rotated every night with the exception of Melbourne night 2 and Sydney night 1.
I believe the second Sydney show was the first time in a long time that two different songs were played. Personally, being at both those shows, I loved it. I got to hear more Kiss songs.
I think we should probably wait and see what they play on the next two shows before making suggestion that this is the ultimate setlist.

The tour book does have : 40 years logo on it. They could very easily transition into the 40th Anniversary tour from this and not have to change the Tour Books or other Merch.

I agree. If they keep the song count down to what it was for the Asylum tour then I think they might just be trying out new songs that work better for pacing / timing / crowd reaction.

There's truth in that... And that they've decreased from 3 to 1 "Monster" song within the timeframe of the tour. However, we're not there and at the shows and as long as those who do go are having fun then that's what matters. However, they're not dragging any lost classics back into the set.firekiss wrote:If anyone cares to look at some facts about this Australian tour, they'll see that the setlist has rotated every night with the exception of Melbourne night 2 and Sydney night 1.

Two things:
1. I like that they are shaking up the set list almost nightly.
2. They need to do a better job of picking songs to shake up the set list with (I know KISS fans are never happy)

Vince Neil is in surgery right now. He's a true warrior. I'm gonna write a full update on Facebook. Been texting with Vince all night

Hey guys, I just woke here in Sydney. As many have heard we had to cut our set short by 4 songs last night due to Vince be in severe pain on stage.. He was doubled over on his dressing room floor 5 minutes till show time and was told by the promoter to not even play but Vince said he couldn’t do that to the fans. I’ve seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments but he never ever cancels…Just like an athlete you sometimes have to play through the pain but last night it became to excruciating.
I was texting with Vince most of the night last night as he was just waiting for the doctor to come back with the test results. This morning we found out he had to be admitted into surgery to remove kidney stones. He Just got out 5 minutes ago and the doctors said everything went well in the operating room. I am going to the hospital to see him before I head to Brisbane. Will update you more later…Nikki

Re: Aussie Monster #6: Sydney, 3/10/13
Kiss has lost the plot. Perth was a 17 song setlist. They played 3 monster songs, God of thunder, I was made, Shandi. Now they're cutting the setlist, Gene's doing I love it loud from the lighting truss (it's a good song but absolutely sucks after the bass solo and Gene's elevation to the lighting truss, they've dropped I was made. I mean seriously, WTF? It was their most popular song and they're not playing in Australia.
Kiss should of played a longer set last night when Motley was cut short, they even came on 10 minutes early. I was psyched thinking we'd get more songs, but no, didn't happen. And seriously shock me? I was made for lovin' you gone, but shock me back in?
The crowd was abysmal, the entire upper level was curtained off, the back of the arena floor where Paul's love gun stage is only had like 100 people there. Worst Kiss show I've been too, hopefully Brisbane and Mackay will be better, they're close to sellouts.

I've been to 29 Kiss shows and last night was as much fun as any other. Crowd size has never been something for me to worry about or use as a factor in determining how good a show is. I was hoping, like you and many others, that they'd play more songs after Motley cut short, but it wasn't to be.circusfreak wrote:Kiss has lost the plot. Perth was a 17 song setlist.

I still had a great time. Especially after security removed the smelly, beer spilling drunk from behind me.

You mean, you weren't staring at the crowd instead of the gigs?firekiss wrote:I've been to 29 Kiss shows and last night was as much fun as any other. Sounds like the same mofo I had to put up with at the Ace Frehley solo show in Melbourne back in 2010.firekiss wrote:I've been to 29 Kiss shows and last night was as much fun as any other. p.s I suspected the 2nd night would find some sections of the arena curtained off, it's a big arena compared to the old Sydney Ent Centre.
Re: Aussie Monster #6: Sydney, 3/10/13
Yep, they curtained the entire back section off and also moved the Destroyer section forward I think. The front section was only about 10 metres deep and nowhere near full. I did expect this, though. This second show went on sale and sold what it sold and they probably hoped they'd get a few walk ups on the night. Problem was, inbetween the show going on sale and show night, Gns and Roses, ZZ Top, Springsteen, The Darkness, Aerosmith and Van Halen all went on sale. Add previously announced shows by Deep Purple/Journey and Black Sabbath and you have a huge drain on funds for most people.steveh67 wrote:Sounds like the same mofo I had to put up with at the Ace Frehley solo show in Melbourne back in 2010.firekiss wrote:I've been to 29 Kiss shows and last night was as much fun as any other. Still, the crowd was in fine voice for Kiss last night and the band looked to be enjoying themselves onstage.
