As a collector of live audio, I totally disagree. Varying setlists is what makes it fun to collect. A tour where they play the same songs every night is not interesting at all. And while I'm not at these shows I might be in the future and they do the same thing, so I might not be going

I agree we shouldn't expect Kiss to vary the set nightly they're not Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Metallica, U2 and about a bunch of other bands that do it. But that being said not everyone is a collector so that doesn't seem like a valid reason and I'm saying that as a collector. I do hope and set expectations to not get the same songs every tour. Keep a few core one and mix up 5-10 song from any era inc new cd songs and i think all fans can be satisfied. i know I was jazzed in 04 when I saw COTN, Pledge, Tears etc...but when they got to NJ not one of those songs or any obscure song for that matter was left in the show.....IMO it's been stale since that point and I also notice they don't say "with Tommy and Eric in the band we can play anything" any longer cause people will know the real reason is laziness to rehearse material. it's easy to rely on autopilot and play the same set you did last tour.

Glad to see they got rid of "I was Made for Loving You" in the set, never did like that song. Love the stage, can't wait until they play the maritimes again in July

Is not playing "I Was Made.." in Australia the equivalent of not playing "Rock And Roll All Nite" in the States?

Maybe so, if that is the case, then hope they play it in Australia & play something like "Room Service" in Canada instead!

They were MUCH better last night than on Tuesday. WAY better. Sound was great, no fuck ups and no technical shit going wrong. Plus, better crowd too. Motley were also better.

Very weird without IWMFLY.

Went back-to-back shows - had an amazing time. I'll get around to a review/pics in the near future.

Any post-concert reaction from other concertgoers about it not being played?

Crowd doesn't look as large as night #1...

Anyone know the attendance figures for both nights???

Plus, night #2 gets "gyped" out of 2 songs from the previous night...could it be b/c crowd may have been smaller???

I doubt they would have cut songs due to smaller audiences, Revenge that setlist would have been halved for some shows.

The folks around us were a bit shocked, as were we. Not only for the fact the song was gone, but because that means the set list was cut short one song.

True, some of those shows would have only been the 3 encores

That wasn't even mentioned. ;)
Interesting to know why - people assumed as it hadn't been played they were going to shake it up by ending with it as opposed to BD.

Kiss Kurfew Kuts Klassic

Kiss were forced to drop one of their biggest hits from their Melbourne show last night after a late start meant they hit the 11pm curfew at Etihad Stadium.

Kiss had to sacrifice the 1979 classic ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ to stay within time at their second Melbourne show.

The second night setlist only featured one tour debut with ‘Deuce’ replacing ‘Christine Sixteen’ from the night before. The rest of the night stuck to format with the exception of ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ being cut from the set.

I had a great time at both gigs. Though there are some signs of ageing amongst the members, it is still a thoroughly enjoyable experience - and a very professional stage setup.

True, but the last full public concert performance is what I generally use. Thanks for the reminder, that date wasn't showing up in the 2012 archive!
They played Deuce to close the first electric show on KK3 November 1st
KK2. KK3 is this year :D

Here are some random comments on the night.

I thought Thin Lizzy were great, they've got a 3 guitarist thing going and they really bring it on home. If they toured on their own, I would go and see them. Yes, there is no Lynott but they are a band in their own right. Having the singer playing guitar as opposed to bass kinda makes it different.

I was right up against the barrier and through the barrier speakers Motely Crue sounded like distorted mud (Thin Lizzy and Kiss were crystal clear). With everyone going on about Paul's voice, let me tell you that Vince Neil sounded like Alvin the Chipmunk for the entire show, that is a bit of a worry if he always sounds like that. Mick Mars looks a bit better but I reckon he is still noit a well man. The girls doing all the bondage thing was a bit tiresome and I think their backing vocals are taped. I was not overly impressed with Motley Crue.

Now for Kiss... I thought they were great. Each guy was giving it everything they had, no one was going through the motions and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Paul's singing voice was good (I may change my mind when I get my hands on an audience recording, as I was 'hearing with my eyes') but his "Peeeeeople" between song banter voice was scatchy and had me cringing.

Gene was fun to watch, he played his role for the entire night. Tommy's onstage personae has developed and he pretty much holds the music together for the night.

If they'll be back, I'll be back.

Some Kiss pics I took:

Thanks OHKISSFAN.

I'm still having trouble embedding the [IMG] links from Photobucket directly into a post.

They look great when I do it for a PM but when I do the same thing for a forum post, the preview just shows the link code.

Really doing my head in as to why OK for PM but not post.

Thanks again.

I've just listened to an audience recording of the gig.

Just as I recalled, Paul's singing vocals were fine, nothing to complain about ala 'time to give it up'.

He does sound real scratchy at times with the yelling banter, he could do with laying off that as it's not all that necessary
