Shandi and IWMFLY were cut and not replaced, Guess when a Paul song gets cut, it doesn't get replaced with a Gene, Tommy or Eric one.

From the few reports from the show it was pretty hot in Melbourne last night. So, there may simply have been heat issues. Also, IWMFLY really didn't do well the night before. It may simply be a matter of pruning the set and re-ordering to give Paul enough rest between songs (though that begs the question why the shrieking raps and CCN remain).

I know they won't do it, but they should consider adding more songs from the seventies not only for all the right reasons known to us but also because they are simply easier for Paul to sing range wise

think Flaming Youth, Got to choose, mr.speed......obscurities I know Paul doesn't want to do, but is his singing really what he wants the people to hear expecting the hottest band in the world???? I think the casual fan would rather hear a good version of a lesser known song than a dreadfull one of a well known(I'm hinting at Lick it up/IWMFLY/CCN)

I'd think it'd be fair to say, if it was a single it can be added. "Strutter," "C'mon And Love Me," "Thrills in the Night" and "All Hell's Breakin' Loose" would all be do-able IMO.

Thrills in the night(great song btw) didn't really do it for me back during the few shows they played it on the Animalize tour, in fact it sounded awful. Paul couldn't handle it very well even then!! I think those songs should, be kept only as studio recordings. Same for Who wants to be lonely and I've had enough, great tunes also

Aren't people in Australia seem to be more into Motley Crue on this tour (pure speculation, just because it seems like there are much more MC clips on youtube than KISS from Australia)
Also, 90% of KISS youtube vids are DRC, RARAN - the ones with most fireworks. That plus reading the reviews how people only want to hear hits even over fairly well known songs like Christine 16 makes me think that there are even more casuals on these shows than usual.

folks its all about ego, Paul won't let Gene, Tommy or Eric have more songs cause it would be him actually admitting he has a vocal problem.

So, the set has 7 Paul sung songs, 5 Gene sung, 1G&P sung, 1 Eric and 1 TT sung song. Paul struggles, still they could have left it at 17-18 songs just by a adding 2 more Gene songs and maybe another Eric.Does Pauls's ego not allow Gene to have the same number of songs live ? Christeen always goes over well, the crowd(part of them anyways) would go wild if Sweet pain was played, we diehards are tired of it, but LMGRAR is always a good jam live. There's just so many things with their vast catalog that could be done to cover up for Paul. Relegating him to only half the songs is a must nowdays. But , it seems when he's having an off night whre one of his songs get cut, the audience is short changed because another song(by someone else) is not added. People go to see KISS, Paul doesn't have to see the most every single night.

The argument that KISS should vary their set list from night to night to satisfy people not even at the concerts is one of the dumbest points of view ever voiced on this board.

Strange, they're dropping their two songs that are considered 'must-plays' for Australia. I guess Paul wasn't up to singing that one.

I've never been a proponent of the rotating setlist(change it up tour to tour though). I do how ever think it's a disservice to the fans attending the shows when the shows are cut by the number of songs being played(17 to 15 so far). Paul has trouble, play a song by someone else. They started the tour playing 17 songs, continue the tour playing 17 songs. Hell they should have left in Wall Of Sound and AFTLORAR. Songs a lot of the people didn't know is still better than no songs at all.

What I want to know is if they're making up the time they're losing by dropping these songs. Personally what'd I do to make that time up is to drop the 'jam session', keep Tommy's guitar solo after Outta This World, and give Eric a drum solo before War Machine.

As a collector of live audio, I totally disagree. Varying setlists is what makes it fun to collect. A tour where they play the same songs every night is not interesting at all. And while I'm not at these shows I might be in the future and they do the same thing, so I might not be going

Well if they start making career decisions based on bootleg collectors' desires, then you will be able to be happy.

Also, there is a difference between wishing they would change up the setlist (totally fine) and actually believing they are wrong by not doing it (ridiculous).

Ridiculous = just an opinion. No more correct than anyone else's.

I'll see them again when the setlist changes or ticket prices come down for a show I've seen 20+ times. Disagree if you like. Doesn't make me wrong.

I hope our Aussie friends are having a good time. I enjoy hearing the reports and seeing the pics.

I agree we shouldn't expect Kiss to vary the set nightly they're not Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Metallica, U2 and about a bunch of other bands that do it. But that being said not everyone is a collector so that doesn't seem like a valid reason and I'm saying that as a collector. I do hope and set expectations to not get the same songs every tour. Keep a few core one and mix up 5-10 song from any era inc new cd songs and i think all fans can be satisfied. i know I was jazzed in 04 when I saw COTN, Pledge, Tears etc...but when they got to NJ not one of those songs or any obscure song for that matter was left in the show.....IMO it's been stale since that point and I also notice they don't say "with Tommy and Eric in the band we can play anything" any longer cause people will know the real reason is laziness to rehearse material. it's easy to rely on autopilot and play the same set you did last tour.

Is not playing "I Was Made.." in Australia the equivalent of not playing "Rock And Roll All Nite" in the States?

Very weird without IWMFLY.

Went back-to-back shows - had an amazing time. I'll get around to a review/pics in the near future.
