He uses "capo" in his guitar when playing Shandi. Check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capo

I see.

So did Paul do his slow, solo version? Or did they do the standard version?

1. Detroit Rock City
2. Shout It Out Loud
3. Hell or Hallelujah
4. I Love It Loud
5. Psycho Circus
6. Calling Dr. Love
7. Firehouse
8. Crazy Crazy Nights
9. Outta This World
10. Tommy and Eric Jam
11. Bass Solo
12. God of Thunder
13. War Machine
14. Shandi (Paul alone)
15. Love Gun
16. Black Diamond

Encore:
17. Lick It Up
18. I Was Made for Lovin' You
19. Rock and Roll All Nite

I actually like this setlist. It will vary slightly when the band plays in North America this summer.

My suggestion is to drop Crazy Nights, I Was Made For Lovin You, and Shandi (They won't play that in N America anyhow).

Bring back "Wall Of Sound", "Ladies Room", and try "Hard Luck Woman".
Why the band avoids Hard Luck Woman I will never know, it's not a Peter-penned tune and Paul can get Eric to sing it (yet he doesn't for some strange reason if you look at the Kruise performances.)

What I see happening in Europe is Shandi being replaced by Crazy Nights and Wall of Sound returning in its original position. North America will probably have Europe's set, with maybe IWMFLY being dropped for a rotating encore like on The Tour. C'Mon And Love Me, Deuce, Strutter, Got To Choose, Do You Love Me?...I see those coming back.

It is little surprise that they don`t play Deuce, it is usually those "must play" songs along with Love Gun, Black Diamond, Detroit and Rock And Roll All Nite.

The return of Crazy Crazy Nights indicates they're warming it up ready for the European leg of the tour. I would be surprised to see GGRnRTY2 start slipping in there too. KISS are rumored to bead headlining the huge Hard Rock Calling Festival in the UK and I should imagine it would expected for them to play there two big hits here.

Good point. It would add variety to the show, bring back a good song, and give Paul more of the break he needs.

Perhaps you should attribute information you're cutting and pasting in full on setlist.fm - lifting poster's whole reports is rude. Wonder what else you've lifted from the tourdates archive here and in KAF? Hmm...
well, nobody said it wasn't public, i'm just sharing the info, if they ask me where i got the info, i'll say, "it was on KISSFaq" or whatever my source was. Don't worry man, i'm not lifting the top secret archives from the pentagon, and i really wanna say thanks for everybody who is sharing your reviews, pics & videos

Anyway, anybody have info about meet & greet ?

I disagree Anomaly, when you listen to the Letterman Special, this is improved. Paul will never be what he once was or what we wish he could be. I can live with this though.

The Letterman broadcast DRC sounded worse than the North American leg of The Tour since it was mid-set. I notice whenever DRC is at the start of the set it sounds fine for the most part.

I think since they stopped in 2012 and have picked up in 2013 there is some improvement. I don't know if it's from rest, or treatment, or more work, or if it will even last, but I'm hopeful more than I was a few months ago.

He's holding himself back as you can see on Love Gun, you can still hear the straining and cracking when he tries to push it. I just pointed out earlier that Detroit Rock City sounds like The Tour's quality thus far, but it is better than the South American shows. Then again, you can't really do worse than the South American shows.

He is being a bit wiser with what he does, and seems to be doing what a lot of people wished he would do. But yes, it's a lot better than the South American clips.

Just as it was when I saw them in 2011 in Houston, Paul sounded great last night. But now that I have seen a couple of short clips pop up the issues are more noticeable.
People need to stop judging his vocals on YouTube and go to a show !

a few slight rearrangements from memory

1. Detroit Rock City
2. Shout It Out Loud
3. Calling Dr. Love
4. Firehouse
5. I Love It Loud
6. Hell or Hallelujah
7. Psycho Circus
8. Outta This World
9. Tommy and Eric Jam
10. Bass Solo
11. God of Thunder
12. War Machine
13. Shandi (Paul alone)
14. Crazy Crazy Nights
15. Love Gun
16. Black Diamond

Encore:
17. Lick It Up
18. I Was Made for Lovin' You
19. Rock and Roll All Nite

Awesome show...if I hadn't known about Paul's vocal issues I wouldn't have noticed them at all. It topped the RTN show 1000%
Should Kiss retire? Based on last night....NO!!!

Crue rocked as well

During Paul's introduction for one song, he said it's called "I," stepped back from the mic, looked towards Gene...

And then, back at mic, completed the title... "I Love It Loud."

Anyone else think, for that second or so, we were gonna get a rarity?

Since I feel like being a dick I'll spoil it for you.

- Y'know the Van Halen "Panama" video where everyone's zipping around on that rope? Yeah, Paul and his chicken-feathers zip across the stage during HoH just like that.
- Gene looks absolutely ecstatic to fly now.
- Tommy does that one thing where he makes it sound like he's playing like Ace but he's not playing like Ace.
- Eric has four bass drums. He's impersonating Alex Van Halen now, headband, sunglasses, receding hairline, the whole sh-bang.

Can't speak for all 40K, but I know we eight (and surrounding others) did.

You can't beat an outdoor rock show on a lovely warm night (with light breeze) - great sound, full pyro, huge crowd...

My four sons got many compliments about their KISS faces - which I painted during The Beards' funny set, with dozens of onlookers - and they had photos taken by many.

Hope the rest of the tour is so enjoyed.

Have fun, Dute.

Holy shit! Paul sounded sublime doing that Doors bit.
He should write some tunes in that lower range and than maybe he could perform them and not sound like his dying half the time. What a shame.

And then, back at mic, completed the title... "I Love It Loud." Anyone else think, for that second or so, we were gonna get a rarity?
I thought he was going to play I, until he continued the title, then I thought I Was Made For Loving You. It didnt even cross my mind I Love It Loud coz you would thing Gene would introduce his own song.... woudn't you?? Anyway
both bands put on great shows IMO Sadly Paul cant hit the high notes in IWMFLY anymore, that aside We enjoyed the show.

He actually sang a line or two of "Heaven's on Fire" just before the Doors song.
The "Light My Fire" lines were GREAT! That line or two of "Heaven's on Fire" was ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL! :(

Well, not a fan, but Motley had a show - video, flames and girls - they just sounded crap. Bassy, murky and rough.

KISS' sound, by comparison, was huge and clear. Hell, the warm-up groups sounded better than MC.

Wow, that was a great crowd!

And this report, https://www.kissfaq.com/forum24/viewtopi ... 38&t=84754, says:
With the circus back in town, the faithful were out in force - a 12,000-strong sellout...
So what was it, 12 000 or 40 000??????????????

:?: :?: :?:

I should point out however, that the same report said:
Things lulled a little in the middle as Kiss motored through plenty of tracks from their latest, 20th studio album Monster...

It's the wrong review. This review is for Perth, not Adelaide.

The Clipsal 500 race sold out for the very first time in its 15 year history yesterday. There would have been at LEAST 40000 people stay around for the concert, considering there were 98000 people there for the day.
