Why play a song like Dr Love, which has been played to death during regular concerts?

I don't get it.

Exactly. Alot of the fans that pay $1,000 for meet and greet are hardcore fans who don't need to hear those kinds of songs.
But even in settings like this they stay partially scripted from night to night and it's suppose to be the opposite of that.

Original meet and greet ticket holders swere suppoed to attend a soundcheck and to hear a song or two.
They started doing these acoustic sent instead of soundcheks, no one promised an acoustic show of rarities.

Seems like a hardcore fan yelled out the request for Dr. Love. Apparently someone who paid their money for the soundcheck package wanted to hear it. Why is that so bad?

When you guys get in that room for the acoustic set, make your requests known just like the people who have done it thus far.

To be fair, on the video where they play 'Life In The Woods' in Concord, someone yelled out a request of Dr. Love and so they played it. I can't blame them on that.

And speaking of Life In The Woods, what a cool moment that was --- who ever thought that here 40 years later, we'd be hearing a lost KISS song that was thought to be forgotten to time. And honestly, outside of the strange lyrics, it sounded pretty cool and had some of that old-school KISS groove to it!

Any thoughts on that one...?

I sent Eric Singer an email seeing if he and Tommy could talk Paul and Gene into playing "Life In The Woods" in its entirety during the acoustic set on the KISS Kruise.

But now I want to hear it complete, I understand it's something of a jam.
You never know, this might prompt a collector to 'leak' the Daisy version...

Starts at 05.20 in this clip

Actually, I should've clarified - why would you wanna hear a song like Dr Love when you have the chance of hearing other songs? It wasn't just Kiss' fault that it was played instead of something else.

Oh, well. Maybe that guy's fave song is Dr Love. More power to him.

It's just a weird request, from my egoistical point of view (since I wanna hear rarities).

I just sent the email. It was in reference to the upcoming kruise.

When I have my M&G in a few weeks, I'm going to request either "Strange Ways" or "Goin' Blind." Haven't decided which yet.

On the one hand, when was the last time they played "Strange Ways"? On the other hand, I absolutely adore the acoustic version of "Goin' Blind" on Unplugged.

At Alpine, Gene didnt sing or talk at all during the meet and greet really except for a few lines in Christeen Sixteen, so the set was mostly Paul and Eric singing. The set was also pretty short (maybe 25 mins) but here it is:

Hard Luck Woman
I Still Love You
Got To Choose
Comin Home
God Of Thunder (first Eric singing, then Paul, then they let the crowd sing from the 2nd verse on)
Christeen Sixteen (Paul singing)
Do You Love Me
(Got Tommy to start playing Mr.Speed but Paul quickly tossed that one)
Beth

Side notes: Someone shouted King of the Mountain and Paul just gave it a big wow! Haha and someone else was constantly shouting for Lonely Is the Hunter and X-ray Eyes. Needless to say they ignored those

Now that is a shame. It's obvious Tommy (and likely Eric) want to play more obscure stuff.

All I'm saying is that if you have KISS right in front of you and the possibility of them playing something that you wouldn't normally hear them play, why would you ask them to do something so common? I have no ill-will towards those who pay to do a meet & greet. Years ago, I did it myself. But seriously, "Calling Dr. Love"?? Ugh...

I was at the Concord M&G and there were some people that were not huge Kiss fans but were still there for some reason. They requested regular songs, and only had the items from the vip-package to get signed.

The guy next to me requested about 5 songs that were in the regular set (like Love Gun and even Detroit Rock City), and had no idea which songs weren't. It even annoyed the band to a point where they asked him why he wanted to hear all those songs that were in the regular set, and were surprised he had no clue.

They also played a part of 'Say Yeah' and 'Watching You' which i don't think have been mentioned before. And gene did the guitar intro to Silver Spoon, though i couldn't remember which song he was palying till later in the set. I asked for Take Me which Gene and Eric wanted to play, but Paul didn't want to sing another song unfortunately.

Paul seems to be getting increasingly inflexible with trying out obscure songs ... they seem to be settling into a certain set.

I think doing this is making them nuts ... Gene sounds asleep when he sings.

No disrespect to anyone doing this, but I just don't get it.
