Haven' got a confirmation that God Of Thunder has been played yet. Just 30 seconds ago, Mike tweeted that stagehands have been brought on the stage, possibly an amp problem? That's all the info I got at the moment

Yeah but saying you're going to play 90 minutes and you play 58 minute sets? C'mon. These tickets aren't cheap. They owe the customers
I agree. I will allow them some flexibility, but 58 is too short with a promise of 90.

Now Mike just tweeted that the band has went into "Lick It Up". So, I'm guessing they did play God of Thunder although it wasn't tweeted. No biggie, I must say I enjoy this setlist. Lots of cool songs in there. I'm hoping for Crazy Crazy Nights.

I can see 75-80 minutes when it's cut short. But it looks like 60 mins is the standard

@9:55...65 minutes until curfew. Oh dear.
Hopefully they play past the "curfew". Using the Curfew excuse is as lame and phony as using backing tapes.
Very true. Hearing that same excuse from Paul on the second night, where he's clearly lying to the crowd by acting like he's somewhat surprised to hear this (for the second night in a row) was truly pathetic. I honestly didn't think KISS would stoop that pathetically low. Like someone else said, did they forget the internet existed? Really pitiful.
Errrr... What ?!?!
He gave an explanation as to why they had to finish early. Of course they would have known what time they started and that they would have to cut it short but when would be a good time to tell people ? After the first song ? Should he have said nothing ? How should they have handled it better do you think ?
8)
By saying nothing and just ending when they end.

Going through this whole, "OH, we're so surprised, they just told us we couldn't play anymore, but ... we're not going home yet" crap is really pitiful and pathetic to watch. Clearly they knew it was coming both nights. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at Bristow, but to see Paul saying exactly the same thing and acting exactly the same way on night 2 shows that they knew all along how long they'd be playing. Cheap and pathetic.
But how do you know they planned it all along ??? Answer : You don't !!!
There's no way KISS would be happy with playing 75 when MC are playing 90.
8)
They'd most certainly have to work out with the promoter on how much time they need for setup, how much time each act needs, and how much time they need to pack up the stuff and move on to the next stop. When it comes to big-time concerts like these, planning and time management is KEY to making sure everything goes off without a hitch.

Besides, KISS are plenty happy, they're getting paid. This tour like every tour since 1996 is a complete cash grab, if they get their check at the end of the day they can't (and won't) complain.

Haven' got a confirmation that God Of Thunder has been played yet. Just 30 seconds ago, Mike tweeted that stagehands have been brought on the stage, possibly an amp problem? That's all the info I got at the moment
I don't think it has anything to do with the amp, all of the amps onstage are dummies. I think their real amps are actually behind the stage being tinkered with by the roadies to make sure the sound's right for each song.

Or... they planned to play 90 minutes all along but issues with set up times between bands has cost them valuable minutes on the night.
Somebody said that going past curfew incurs a fine of $1000 per minute.

It's more like $3-5K per minute depending on the city ordinance.

If that's the case it's 11 PM now. Maybe they cut the encore completely tonight and decided not to play RARAN.

If they really cared about this curfew they would have cut Lick It Up, that Won't Get Fooled Again bridge takes up a useless minute, even if it's cool as hell.

It seems quite a bit of time could be saved if they kill out Tommy/Eric's solo.

There were zero solos on the '03 AeroKISS Tour.

I know exactly how it all works. Not to toot my own trumpet, but on TV recently I got labelled an "industry insider" !!! (It's a long story...)

Anyway, bare in mind that this is just the 3rd show and there is likely to teething problems. Remember, we are only talking about 15 minutes here. It's easy to lose 15 minutes between 3 bands this early on in a tour, especially when 2 of them have such big elaborate stage productions. If this is still happening after night 10 and Paul is still using the same excuse then I will concede. But I think benefit of the doubt needs to be given at this early stage...

MC are playing longer than KISS, that's just not right. Can anybody honestly see KISS deliberately alienating 15,000 fans every night by cutting their show short ?

Just shut up and quit blaming the cities you're playing in, Motley got 12 songs, you guys got 12 songs. The tour was supposed to be even and you're playing an equal number of songs for fuck's sake.

it's time we as the KISS Army band together and rise up and petition our city councilmen to lift the curfew so that KISS can play all the songs that they want to play for the fans. Paul said if there was no curfew they would be playing Makin' Love and I Want You and Parasite and Watchin' You, and I'm sure they'd play 100,000 Years and Calling Dr. Love and Cold Gin too! It's up to us!!

LOL! And how do you know THAT? Answer: You DON'T!!! At their age, they might be INCREDIBLY happy playing 75 minutes a night.
If this is still happening after night 10 and Paul is still using the same excuse then I will concede. But I think benefit of the doubt needs to be given at this early stage...
Really? It will take you TEN SHOWS of the same excuse to concede? Wow. You are full of delicious Kool-Aid. I'll say this. I'll give them until show four. If they're still playing the same set at that point, and especially if Paul says the same thing, then I'm calling bullshit. Complete and utter.

If they get things together and do the 90 minutes by the next show (AS ADVERTISED over and over again), then I'll still think Paul's lame acting about the "power being shut down" is pathetic, but I will understand somewhat and give them a pass.

Don't tell them. Just play the 12 songs.
But then it makes KISS look bad.
As oppossed to what Paul's doing now. I'm sorry, and you know I'm not the guy that complains all the time, but the curfew thing works the first time. After that, it should have been rectified. Now it's just an excuse that does nothing to fix the "problem".

Play the 12 songs, if anyone asks tell them both bands are playing the same amount of songs and actual time onstage may be different as songs are different lengths. But, don't waste more time onstage explaining why you haven't got more time.

Oh yea, forgot about Paul's lengthy Black Diamond intro/solo. If they cut all of those, easily 3 more songs could be added to the set.

There's no way KISS would be happy with playing 75 when MC are playing 90.

10 shows.

I have to say it doesn't bother me, but maybe it's because I'm not paying for tickets. But I think it's a fine setlist. I've seen tours run this length before, REO and Styx come to mind from a few years ago. But I think the short set is good for Paul's voice and still is a nice collection of the bands songs.

it's time we as the KISS Army band together and rise up and petition our city councilmen to lift the curfew so that KISS can play all the songs that they want to play for the fans. Paul said if there was no curfew they would be playing Makin' Love and I Want You and Parasite and Watchin' You, and I'm sure they'd play 100,000 Years and Calling Dr. Love and Cold Gin too! It's up to us!!
If they played all of those songs then they'd be over 90 minutes, I think that's a cheap ploy to rile their fans up into thinking they were screwed out of four good songs that night; screwed by the WRONG people.

I think they just planned for it to be like this and Paul is using the curfew line as the way to introduce Rock And Roll All Nite on this tour. It seems pretty rehearsed.

It wouldn't bother me so much either if they just hadn't gone out of their way to advertise 90-minute sets by each band AND if they wouldn't go through this WorldWide Wrestling acting crap every night acting like they're shocked and surprised that they have to end the show early.

It's very simple. At the initial press conference, when they were asked about set lengths, just say something like, "Sets won't be quite as long as if either band was a sole headliner, but we can guarantee everyone will be satisfied by this show," or something to that effect. Asses covered.

The way they're handling this now is just moronic.

KISS lies. We should be used to it by now.

KISS does the same schtick every night on tour. We should be used to it by now.

That's another apologist answer, hate to break it to you. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to expect both bands not to play 90 minute sets, KISS promised in 2009 and 2010 that they would play for two and a half hours...and they did.

AND if they wouldn't go through this WorldWide Wrestling acting crap every night acting like they're shocked and surprised that they have to end the show early.

They act shocked that they have to shorten their show every night? Oh yeah, I remember that on the Lick It Up tour. :)

I think they were pacing themselves through this 4-in-a-row start. I'll bet that there will be longer sets (2 -3 songs tops) when they have more rest in between shows. But maybe expect the 12-song set to come back when they're doing three in a row. And just my luck, my show is one of those (Phoenix). Guess we'll find out Tuesday .

no they didn't. They hovered around the two hour mark.
