Since we're at a point in the show where I don't have to pay attention, I can type more. The band sounds great. Paul's voice sounds ok in the venue, but i'm guessing it won't sound like that on recordings. The feathers lasted half a song. War Machine was fun to hear. HOH seemed to be a crowd killer but it sounded good. The crowd seems really into the show. The lawn is fairly empty, but the weather killed any hope of a walk up crowd.
So far, so good. Even the Tommy/Eric solo going on right now is good.

Great show, but Pauls voice is shot to hell. He really needs to stop talking/singing between songs. He could hardly get the words out. My daughter had the best time of her life! She was in awe of God of Thunder and sang it the whole way home. She had her jaw opened from the time gene started spitting blood, to the end of the song. Though this is not the Kiss I grew up with in the seventies, I enjoyed it because my daughter did.

Here's a quick review before bed...
Crue sounded good - an entertaining show. Vince had his usual hiccups but wasn't terrible. The Tommy rollercoaster is cooler than the videos.
Kiss sounded pretty good , albeit a little flat - which makes sense because they are now detuned a bit more. As everybody says, Paul really does sound better live. You only hear the scratch if you really listen for it and on the between song banter. I haven't seen them since 2003, and Tommy has gotten much better since then. Eric did a good job on the drums, although he didn't listen to me when I yelled to him to shoot Tommy when he had the bazooka. Gene was spot on.
Those guys need to narrow down that stage, it would've been alot of ground for them to cover when they were in their 30s.

My quick review...
The Treatment - Didn't get to see them as I was stuck in traffic.
Motley- Missed the first few songs because of the traffic but they bored me to tears after 10 minutes or so. The best thing about their set (other than Live Wire and the female flasher next to me) was Tommy's rollercoaster but it's almost negated by the fact that he is so annoying.
KISS- I knew the setlist inside and out (other than Dr. Love) so no surprises there. But there's something to be said for the fact that after 20 concerts and knowing every gimmick and when its coming, I'm still captivated by the live KISS experience. There truly is nothing like a live KISS show. I thought Paul sounded ok...better than I expected, in fact. He sounded rough when speaking but vocally, it wasn't as noticeable. Gene was solid and the blood routine never gets old. All in all, it was a great show and I'm glad I spent the money to be fourth row.

Couldn't agree more about Tommy. I only went to my seat during Crue with my daughter to see the drum solo because my daughter wanted to see it. I spent the first five minutes covering my daughters ears as Tommy said the F word 15 times. I get the fact that it's a rock concert, but grow up already Tommy. Does he really need to curse every other word? His communication skills really makes him look stupid.
Kiss went through a whole show with no swearing, and they kicked crues butt all over the stage.
