Roxy and I don't really care about seeing Buckcherry, so if you feel the same way, we could coordinate a meetup during their set? Or maybe afterwards? Are you driving straight into town, parking, heading to the venue? Unless you have prepaid parking (I don't even know if that was an option) I have a free parking tip for you as well.

I'm driving in from Cincy and am looking for a "KISS central" Hotel in the area so if anybody has a recommendation I'd like to hear it. Also looking for up front tix too. I saw the boys from the side at Cobo and want to see it from in front this time if I can make it work. Can't wait!!!!

I just did a quick ticket check at Ticketmaster and there are still some great seats available in the lower bowl (100 Level).

I'm fearing a low turnout.

Do I smell an upgrade of tickets? Which sort of sucks, because I bought lower bowl tix already.

I'll be there. Flying solo. Mom and dad and I are going to see Chicago (the city) for the first time (they are staying at the hotel while I take in the show). Also going to Minny the next day.

I also bought mine early, sitting in Sec. 112. I test-requested 4 for best available today and got all 4 in Sec. 102.

We'll see if the 300 level gets curtained off.

It wouldn't surprise me to see parts of the 300 level curtained off. The UC is freakin' huge. I know its cool to play the biggest venues for an arena tour, but the fact that Gene said the stage setup is "collapsable" would lead me to believe they could have easily played Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

Look at wikipedia, in recent years, all of the big names played at Allstate Arena and it says it seats 18,500 for concerts (might be a stretch?).

If they wanted a sellout and used the exact same arena stage, they should have played the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates. Even the last row would have been cool..like a mini arena.

This was the seating for Billy Joel..then KISS wouldn't have had to seal off half of the UC either, and had a sell out.
This seating holds 10,000.

No, I'm not kidding. I live in the South Suburbs and had to drive this way once a week for my job. It is not a fun, or short drive.

They used to have an outdoor venue there years ago, Poplar Creek Music Theater. But they closed it down and sold the land to Sears for new headquarters about 25 years ago. That was the premier venue at the time, but still a pain in the ass to drive to...and from.

Would someone be willing to buy a specific tshirt

Post by TheeKISSFanatic »

I was at the show in Nashville and did not buy a shirt thinking it would be online. Low and Behold, :? it isn't.

Would anyone be willing to buy one and ship it to me in Nashville? I will be glad to pay for shirt; shipping and a little mark up.

It has the Alive 35 photo on the front with tour dates on back. VERY similar to the premium package shirts, but the front pic is symettrical.

THANKS! :D

Someone is gonna Help me out. THANKS!

The show in Atlanta had a 7:30 time on the ticket. Buckcherry went on right around 7:30 and played for about 45-50 minutes. KISS went on sometime between 8:45-8:50....

kiss gets a better deal at the uc its better for the promoter and better load in area ect.. the potential for more asses in the bigger place means more $$$ in genes pocket and the promoter.

I was there (So I don't have to go to Sault Ste. Marie now!)! Staying at my sister's house here's the full setlist...oh yeah, so much for KISS playing to 50% of an arena, they played to at least 85-90%!

Here's the full set
------------------------

Deuce
Strutter
Let Me Go, Rock 'n Roll
Hotter Than Hell (w/ Firebreathing)
Shock Me (Tommy sounded GREAT!)
Calling Dr. Love
Modern Day Delilah (went so-so with the crowd)
Cold Gin (Tommy Solo)
Parasite
100,000 Years (Eric Solo, AND PAUL IS BACK!!!)
I Love It Loud (Gene Solo w/ Bell)
Black Diamond
Rock And Roll All Nite
--------------------------
Shout It Out Loud
Lick It Up
Love Gun
Detroit Rock City

Sure as hell wasn't as loud as Cobo though!

Just got home. back half of the set is the same. No Say Yeah - that was disappointing.

Paul's voice was better tonight, but he really struggled on Strutter and Modern Day Delilah, as usual. He was the weak point of the show, for sure. I will say that he was especially strong on other songs that were a notch higher in his range. Lick It Up was ironically the highlight of the set, especially the "Won't Get Fooled Again" breakdown.

Tommy, Eric and Gene essentially played a flawless set. I was very impressed by all three. Shock Me actually came off really well - and Tommy sang it well too.

The place was packed - probably 85-90% full to the arena seating capacity - and yes the nosebleeds were in play. At least 10-12,000 strong, probably more, although I can't recall the exact arena capacity for the UC.

That said the place was dead energy wise. I've never seen a crowd seemingly less into it. I was right smack in the middle of the floor, too, so it wasn't just my section. The band played it off well but it was just....weird. There was some good applause after coaxing, but several times on cue the crowd would miss Paul motioning for applause or just not care. Was eerie.

Some of Roxy's comments were hilarious after the show. She flat out refused to call Tommy and Eric by their names, she insisted that "Fake Ace" and "Fake Peter" were fine. I actually tried to correct her too, believe it or not. She has no real opinion on the debate that rages here, in fact she's never read this board and we've never really discussed that issue. She did say that "Fake Ace sang Shock Me better than I ever saw Ace do it - and I can say that cuz I saw Ace sing it last year". I thought that was an especially interesting take from a pretty good vocalist herself. I thought Tommy actually sang it pretty damned well tonight.
