I heard they're going to really cut Tommy loose tonight and let him do New York Groove AND 2,000 Man.Shane_Penney wrote:If they play Rip It Out I'll laugh until until blue in the face.
Hopefully they've dropped Shock Me and will let Thayer finally do his own song.
The setlists have certainly been weird. There is no rhyme nor reason to them.

Here's the set list from tonight:
Deuce
Strutter
Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll
Hotter Than Hell
Shock Me
Modern Day Delilah
Calling Dr. Love
She
Parasite
100,000 Years
I Love It Loud
Black Diamond
Rock And Roll All Nite
Shout It Out Loud
Lick It Up
Love Gun
Detroit Rock City
They came from the riser coming down as the curtain dropped. I wish they would have come from beneath the stage. Gene did the blood routine on the floor, but instead of the bell, lightning/thunder was used. go figure. video in the morning.

Solid turnout for Pensacola, which is usually a hard draw for KISS. Couldn't really find many empty seats at all.
Same set. Paul had moments. Pretty much same show I've seen many times.
But I took my 17 year old daughter and two of her friends along with me and my wife. They were all blown away. You could see it on their face with each gag. It brought back memories of when I first saw it.
Say what you want about KISS, but there's nothing like it. Say U2 is better if you want, but that's just because some feelings are in the way. KISS still bring it. I really had a great time. Thank you KISS.

That comment would be applicable if I was going to see Kiss 3 days after the Houston show in 1977. Unfortunately I don't have a time machine.gshaller wrote:So was Houston 1977.
However, I am going to see them in Sunrise, so it would be nice to hear 20 songs like I did in Cobo. Though, I'm probably more likely to hear 16 songs with the way they're chopping down the setlist.

Because they love their fans so much, they wanted to make sure they got home before it as too late, so they shortened the set up again.paracon wrote:Here's the set list from tonight:

This has got to be the strangest tour they've done. They keep changing things! What with the different opening songs, different stage entrances, different places to break the guitar, different audio effects during Gene's solo, cutting songs, only doing 1 song from a brand new record, having Tommy sing "Shock Me" as opposed to his own song, etc., it's a damned wonder they even get through shows smoothly!

Meanwhile, 24 songs from a band with all originals and they play new songs. Shame, shame shame on you Kiss:

Actually, it wasn't true all the time.Just_Lee wrote:LOL. Good one, I imagine that to be true.shupey wrote:their first tour I bet.Wirdheim wrote:
The first 5 songs in the set comes for that bands new album. Has that ever happend in Kisstory?
Sometimes they played "She" early in the setlist, which, of course, wasn't on the band's new album. In Washington 1974 "She" was the third song and "Acrobat" was the fifth.
In fact, for most of the audios out there, "She" is early in the set.

Re: US "Alive 35" Show 15: 10/19/09 - Pensacola
Not to be that guy that bumps a 10 year old thread, but this is incredible reading about fan reaction to my first show a decade after it happenned
I was 7 or 8 rows back on the floor, pretty dang close.
Blew my friggin' little 14 year old mind, it did!!!
Shock Me was my favorite KISS song at the time, so it completely threw me for a loop that they played it - I had not kept up with recent setlists and it was the "gift from heaven" of a lifetime!
Phenomenal show
