KISSOLOGIST REVIEW
7 pm - Arrived at the venue. Just as it happened in 1997, I crossed with some guys of the KISS crew (whom during the soundcheck I found out were Paul and Tommy guitar techs) that were buying merchandise in the bootleg stands, with the help of a woman (mexican maybe) that helped them as traslator. The guys were buying EVERYTHING. They got at least one item from each stand and there were hundreds of them!. They carried a big bag and putting everything in it. I just got a 8 bucks shirt
8 pm - Ruido Rosa takes the stage. Pretty good all-female (really cute girls) band. The drummer pounded the skins like possessed Gonna have to check 'em out cuz they're hommies After just 5 songs and at 8:20 pm sharp they left the stage. People asked for more to no avail.
8:40 pm - The Envy takes the stage. Generic EMO stuff. They're more suited to open for Avril Lavinge than KISS. And mexican fans agreed as they booed them and threw stuff at them (nothing dangerous, just cardboard cups ). The singer, that gotta give him he's very energetic on stage, tried to calm the audience by carrying a mexican flag. Helped for a second He said "I know you want KISS, but right now I'm up here in the stage and gotta stay". More boos With the approval of the audience they left the stage at 9:12 pm
9:35 pm - At the cue of "Immigrant Song" the KISS curtain covers the stage.
9:47 pm - Lights out. Tremor sound. Nothing happens for a minute but then the screens show a map of Mexico City and as it closes up the giant KISS steps on a city. Crowd goes nuts. "Allright Mexico City!!!..." The crowd screams the rest of the phrase.
MDD - People explodes as the pyro on stage. Paul's voice does a good attempt as it doesn't sound forced as I heard in some videos.
Cold Gin - Gene puts a sombrero on for the first chords of the song and then put it aside. Paul spends almost all of the song laying on the floor posing for the photographers.
LMGRNR - Band is sounding really damn good.
Firehouse - Paul adresses the audience with some words in spanish thru all the show. Gene's flame doesn't look as big as other ocassions (he needs to gulp more kerosene )
Say Yeah - Amazed that the audience know the lyrics since Sonic Boom never was officially sold in my Country
Deuce - People goes nuts on this one. I see many people (me included) doing the Deuce dance. Lots of little kids among the audience and I got particulary captivated by a little dude that was singing his ass off Glad to see the next generation KISS Army.
Crazy Nights - Paul says "it's been a long time since we did this one in Mexico". Wrong. They have never played this song in Mexico. Good response from the crowd.
Calling Dr. Love - Paul does his "Guantanamera" part. I hope one day he realizes that this song is NOT mexican But then he launches into the falsetto part of the ranchero song "Cucurrucucu Paloma" and people goes wild! Pretty nice detail. He calls the Dr. Love. Gene is in great form and people chants his name.
Shock Me - Gotta give it to Tommy that he does a great effort on this. The solos are really fun and people laughed at the bazooka stunt. Eric kept saying "Mexico Citeeeee!" a lot.
I'm an Animal - Piss break Returned to the last half of the song. I like how the lights work on Gene making him look larger than life.
100,000 Years - Everytime Paul announced a song the album that was on it appeared on screen, except that this one showed "Alive!". Paul voice sounded amazing all night and in this one he did an EXCELLENT sing-a-long with us.
I Love It Loud - The spitting blood routine made the night for a lot of people in the crowd. It's fucking great that bell/daylight scare thing that Gene does People singing their lungs out.
Love Gun - Crowd sings a capella with Paul the first verse. Another well received song.
Black Diamond - Eric sings "Gene you got me under your thumb" Gene replies "Oh SI!" Classic
Detroit Rock City - "This is Mexico Rock City!" screams Paul. Another one that the crowd embraces. Paul make us sing the guitar solo part. "Goodnight Mexico City!" but they returned pretty quick. I swear to God that when Eric returned to the stage (he was the first one) I thought "Who let that kid enter the stage?" He's really short
Beth - Gene and Tommy attack Eric with a bunch of guitar picks Crowd sings along really loud.
La Bamba - Gene, Paul and Tommy start the song and we all sing the first verse and chorus. Then Eric finally arrives and stops the song, saying something to the effect that it was HIS song, so they start over and now Eric sings the first verse and chorus.
Lick it Up - During the "Won't Get Fooled Again" part, Gene receives another sombrero and put it on Paul's head, but VERY carefully in order to not move Paul's wig
SIOL - Paul promised (in spanish) to play at least 6 more songs for the encore and they certainly did.
IWMFLY - This is not only THE song everybody in Mexico was waiting for. The fact that Paul flew to the other part of the arena made several people to even cry of joy. There was a guy to my right that screamed like a teen girl The rotating platform is a good addition to this stunt.
GGRNRTY - We sang a capella the bridge armony part and sounded really good.
RARAN - Everybody sang, everybody danced, everybody screamed. This song never cease to amaze me on how gets the best reaction of people
At exactly two minutes past midnight the first of two shows in Mexico City ended and I was more than pleased
Epilogue - I get to knew a guy who did the M&G and said that there were 50 people, the thing was very rushed but the guy were amicable with the fans. Several people presented the guys with mexican artcraft. Tommy and Eric weren't much requested by the fans at the M&G. Paul promised to return to Mexico next year (as everybody does...)
There was a Simfy Live stand. A friend picked the USB with just half of the show, with the other to be downloaded on the Simfy webpage. He's gonna pass it to me so I din't bought it It was for less than 20 bucks.
NO "Hottest SHow on Earth" edition cups like in Monterrey That's because Corona handled this concert and not the Sol beer.
More reports, pics, videos to follow...
ETA - Oops! Forgot the report of attendance!
Promoters said it was sold out, and it REALLY looked sold out, but when I arrived there were still tickets available at the counter, so I'm not sure.
Anyways, we were easily more than 15,000 crazy mexicans in there

Thanks man
Aditional "details":
Numbers of thrown bras picked in the stage = 2 Paul looked at what appeared to be a panty but refused to pick it with an "Eww" face
On the stage move during Cold Gin, where Gene licks Tommy neck, he got "too closer" to Tommy's face and he smiled nervously
A friend of mine reports that he saw the snapping of a string in Tommy's guitar so he had to change the guitar.
The bass player from The Envy played some songs with an axe guitar.

Hey!. Late, but here I am.
I don't have many more things to add to Kissologist review.
Except some interesting aspects:
A guy next to me said: Yeah, that Peter Criss is fairly short!. Even my wife laughted at that.
Another mentioned: They started in 1971. A long time ago. I listened carefuly.
One guy to another, while waiting in line to enter: How many times has Kiss came to México? Answer: Man, if you don't even know...much less I.
I was the only one singing to every single damn lyric. My wife felt proud.
Musically, the 2004 concert was better I think, but this show destroyed everything I had seen before.
Thanks for reading.
