Don't you have another faux Food Network thread to start?

I would imagine years of unemployment makes for great imagination and creativity.

I guess you're trying to make some point that I'm unemployed. Wrong as all of your other posts. Try to find something else. Grasping at straws is funny to watch. Keep trying. You might make it on your 117th try.

Envy opened. They weren't terrible.

After that...I'm not sure what I saw. I was HOT. Like 91 even after the sun went down. It was also humid and sweaty...which was obvious by the way Gene pretty much just melted over the course of the show.

Couple of things.

1. Paul. It's been talked to death. The guy sucks. If he can't hear how shitty he sounds well...I don't know. Health, age. whatever...it was awful.

2. Gene looks like a 60 year old in KISS make up. I know he is...but they had a fan on him alot last night...and he looked silly.

3. Tommy was pretty off last night too.

4. Add all of this together...it was pretty weak.

5. No Shout it Out Loud or GGRNRTY. Lick it Up straight into RNRAN.

Best fireworks I've seen in years.

That's all I got. Was going to go see them in Chicago next month...have now changed my mind. Honestly.

I'm not bashing...just letting you guys know what I thought.

Of course it does.

He didn't like the originals when he saw them on "Farewell", he doesn't like the band now in concert.

Pretty consistent, if you ask me.

Yet he thought RTN, and two Alive35 shows were awesome shows.

Ok....let me clarify. I have now seen 2 bad KISS shows. Last night and the Farewell tour.

Better?

The band was tight as hell. Paul sounds like shit and Tommy was sloppy last night. Also, Gene looked like an elderly person in a costume.

The media review from last night agrees Gene struggled, but didn't mention Paul's voice at all, and said Tommy was the star of the show.

Perhaps the truth is in the middle?

I could write his review.

"Paul sounded great. All the morons on here have no idea what they are talking about."

Anyway, Phantom get to the venue so you can hang out for 8 hours and try to get Thayer's autograph. Try and get it on a Tim Hortons cup.

OK, back to the actual topic of this thread. Here's my review...

First off, the weather was bad. The heat and humidity in combination with the venue made the whole night flat out uncomfortable. Appropriately, the grandstand seating made you feel like cattle. Just no room to move and heavy humidity.

The band sounded good. I was actually surprised by their level of energy. Eric was great and really a standout as usual. I agree Tommy was a bit off a few times, but honestly it was nothing bad at all. Just a few solos where you could tell he wasn't spot on. "Shock Me" probably being the most noticeable. About halfway through you could really tell the heat was getting to everyone, but probably the crowd more than the band. I can't really blame anyone there. Paul mentioned a few times that everyone was tired trying to pick up the energy a little. By the time the encores came I was a little disappointed they cut the three songs out, but I understood. The crowd was just done. And for the part everyone was waiting for, I thought Paul sounded ok. I actually thought he was a little better than the Cinci show. I was expecting "100,000 Years" and "Love Gun" to be rough but was actually surprised. He was as good if not better than than the Rock am Ring show. Gene got the beginning of "I'm an Animal" wrong again. I don't think anyone really noticed though. Also, the wounded warriors check was over $105,000. So that would make attendance around 14,000 or so? The place was definitely full all the way to the top.

Overall I still had a great time. Probably gonna try to hit Cleveland in september.

Thayer was yelling at the former Kiss tribute band Ace who now gets his coffee and video tapes the band.

I really think KISS hit the stage later than they expected and since it was a fair show they had to honor curfew. The Envy (whose website said they weren't gonna be there btw) were off stage about 10 after 8. I fully expected to come out earlier than usual, again, b/c it was at a state fair. Around 8:40 a roadie in panic mode climbed to the top and began messing w/ Tommy's guitar flying rig, the roadies also seemed concerned with the big KISS tapestry. KISS wound up hitting the stage later than at some of the shows where they were able to play past 11. I thought the show went great though. Tommy is really on fire and the crowd really dug it.
