Big fan of the 87 Party boys album.

I chat with John Swan regularly, and hes very saddened today too.

Many people probably don't notice it, but his bass adds so much to so many songs. The choruses in Mystery Song, the final chorus in Most Of The Time...Little movements that add movement to the music.
Wrote many songs I like, even in the psychedelic era.
A distinctive singing voice.

RIP Mr. Lancaster

Very sad news. So glad he and Francis made up and we got the FF reunion in 2013/2014.

They fell out again, sadly. Francis said that Alan started saying some insulting things again.

He wrote my favorite Quo song: Is it really me?/Gotta go home.
Now Alan is finally home and at ease.

Didn’t know that. How sad. They seemed to good mates again during the FF tours. Well he’s having a good old jam session with Ricky tonight.

I was expecting Paul and Gene to post something about Alan's passing since he was a founding member in a great, well known rock band, but I guess he wasn't a big enough star these days for these guys to remember publicly.

Given that Quo never made it in the USA I doubt they even know who he is. They get a pass on this one for me.

And I agree about his bass playing.

Ok. I've always thought that they're rather well-known in the USA as well.

They tried in the 70’s to crack the US. Think they did a few shows in NYC and were received well but never really had any impact so concentrated on Europe & Australia.

I was lucky enough to see Quo a good few times with Alan though not the Fabric Four rerun. Powerhouse of a bass player who along with Rick really drove those songs live. Great voice as well. RIP
