It Turns Out I've Seen My Last Show

Post by atowntommy »

The wife and I attended two EOTR stops before the concert industry paused. Now that the updated schedule has been out for a week or so, I have been trying to fit at least one more show in but given our previous commitments, proximity and overall cost, it is very likely I saw my last KISS show last year.

So, I ask, who else is in the same situation?

Never say never. We don't know exactly what's around the corner. Maybe another show will pop up in your area before it's all said and done.

I agree. That's why I said it's very likely. Maybe a cool option pops up but I'm starting to make peace with the fact that my live journey with KISS is over.

Again, anyone in the same spot?

Meh, my last show was in 2012 and I'm perfectly content with that being my last time seeing them. That being said, if I'm ever in Vegas and they're doing a residency there, I'd go.

If they tune the guitars back to Eb stop lip syncing and play some new songs then sure I’ll go support them again.

Even if this is their last tour, they will certainly be doing one off shows (Kruise, Vegas, etc.) for years to come.

When I saw the EOTR show in Nashville, I decided to enjoy it like it was the last time. With that in mind, I spent a lot more than I usually would on a ticket just a few rows from the stage. I savored every aspect of the experience as if I'd never get to do this again. Even as the confetti rained on me I was taking mental pictures of it, reconciled that this would be the end for me.

I thought about going to another show in Wichita but things didn't work out and I've promised myself to consider going to the last show wherever it is, especially if Ace, Bruce and Peter make an appearance.

We'll see. Most likely though, that last one was the last one. It was a great night. I even ended up on the big screen behind the band with a close up crowd shot on my face.

It would be hard to top that goodbye.

My last show was The Hottest Show On Earth Tour.
2010?...I went with my girlfriend at the time who was a fun loving Kiss fan and a few other friends.
We had a genuine blast! Even though the show was just a nostalgia trip for me.
I bought the Symfy Live flash drive soundboard of the show.
Overall it was a great time. Not the best show ever but it was fun.
That was my last show, totally fine and satisfied with that.

After the "farewell" tour, I was completely content with the idea of ending with the original four. A few years ago when they toured with Def Leppard, my buddy ended up with a spare ticket and begged me to go. Reluctantly, I did. After that show, I vowed never again and unless there's some crazy historic one-off happening down the road, I'm content to leave it at that.

I was contemplating seeing the Atlantic City show, but it was more of a fantasy. I'm fine with having seen my last KISS show. I wouldn't mind seeing Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening again. That's definitely not canned.

I probably have seen my last show. I've been to 2 EOTR shows in 2019, did M&G at one of them, had a great time.
All things considered, I don't see myself spending money on traveling to see them live again.

I'm hopeful as ever but pretty much sure that Nagoya, Japan 2019 will have been my last show.
Living in SE Asia, my only real hope is a Japanese gig (should they decide to go back there - something I always thought they would do when going to Auz), unless I fly even further to Europe/USA/Auz. BUT covid has kind of put paid to that as it's impossible to :
a) guarantee a gig is going to take place (even the Aussie tour looks 50/50 now)
b) get vaccinated in the country I live
c) incorporate quarantine situations in both country of arrival and mandatory government housed (not own home) quarantine on return to my country of residence.
But I'm very, very lucky to be going out on a real high because the three gigs I attended on the Japanese tour in 2019 and the whole experience of following them around Japan and seeing the sights, was unbelievable!

Saw all bar one of the UK shows in 2019 so that's it for me. I've no desire to go stand in a field next to see them at what to me is still Donnington (not Download - always hated that name !)

I enjoyed those EOTR shows

I saw my last KISS show July 13, 2016. I would have loved a chance to see them on the EOTR, however they never came within a fourteen hour drive of us. That would have been through the Rocky Mountains, and Pacific Mountain range at the end of January 2019. Not exactly the safest time to take a road trip through two mountain ranges. We couldn't swing air fair, tickets, and hotel so we held out hope that they would have eventually came our way.

We saw them in Manchester 2019. Band were great, crowd were great and a fun show so I'm happy to end it there, though I remember feeling sad when RnRAN started.

No desire to go to Download.

I saw three shows on the EOTR before Covid and that's probably the end. I had a great time but I'm pretty indifferent about seeing any more unless there's a big set change or something like that (which is unlikely). Plus my wife is tired of the same old thing over and over. When you go to multiple shows on the same tour the same set list and Paul's raps just start to get old

Might happen to me, got tickets for 4 more European shows.

Saw them last time in 2019 in Amsterdam, that could have been my last KISS........ hoping for some extra Euro dates in 2020.
Extra dates for 2020 came - got tickets for Dortmund and Hamburg - these dates got postponed to 2021.
2021 dates announced - 1 extra date - Antwerp. The 2021 dates got postponed to 2022.
2022 dates announced - 1 extra date Amsterdam.

So now I got tickets for Dortmund -1st date of the Euro tour - Antwerp - Hamburg and Amsterdam - Last European date ever??????

And now we wait.

I have nothing against the line as it is, but my last KISS show was in 2000 with the Farewell Tour. If Paul still had a voice, I would consider seeing them for the EOTR. But otherwise, I'm just kind of ready for it to be over. Honestly, I would rather see Gene with his solo band.

My last show was in 2000, and I'm totally ok with that.

I did enter a local contest for tickets to the EOTR show, so if I win I'd probably go.

My last show was the AeroKISS tour. Was underwhelmed. Looking back I wish I had went to the 2009 or 2010 HSOE tour or whatever they were called, as I think from what I’ve seen was a pretty decent tour.

I saw my last KISS show in 2014.

It was the PERFECT show to go out on.

Paul sounded passable. His best since 2008 (that's not saying much, but it was surprising). And the Spider Stage is my all time favorite KISS stage set, and it isn't even close.

So I got good musical performances and my all time favorite KISS stage show.

If not for Paul's lip syncing I might have considered going to an EOTR show, but since he's lip syncing - forget it. I don't pay to watch people mime to pre-recorded tracks. Paul made my decision for me. And I thank him for it as the 2014 show was SPECTACULAR. That's the way I want to remember KISS.

Also a college buddy is wanting me to go to the Atlanta show but he bought his ticket when they went on sale and the only other tickets available on his row are inflated resale seats.

I am the same.
After watching the lip synch performance I actually wanted my money back after the last show.
I won't be back.
My previous show was in Rockford, Il a few years back.
My first ever Kiss show was in Rockford, Il.
I prefer to think of it that way in a nice bookend sense.

I would love to go one more time, but with all the postponements I have come to the realization that they will never get around to us now. They were really good the last show I saw in 2016, and I will just have to be satisfied seeing them seven times which were all great shows. I am lucky I have never been disappointed seeing KISS.
