A release like that could never be official when it's Kiss.

Man, I love the Elder. Such a unique album that takes me back in time like almost no other. Winter 1981/2 looking out the window watching the snow falling slowly to the sound of the acoustic guitar verses of Under The Rose. Magical.

Unfortunately. But as I said before, I would totally buy this box set if it was around $125, $150 and official.

That looks fantastic! I just don't see Kiss ever releasing any type of deluxe version as it is not likely to sell many copies.

The Kiss fans out there make way better Kiss stuff than the band themselves...

I'm just hoping that we get a 40th anniversary vinyl reissue this year. I'd order that one on announcement date.

I'm guessing brown and gold splatter vinyl using the same jacket as the 2014 reissues. Would love to see them to do something cool with it, but I'm not holding my breath.

All that looks cool, but I'd be ecstatic if they released a version that had the spoken parts included. Vinyl would be fantastic but I'd settle for MP3 files.

How much could it cost?

Give me the tapes, I'll do it. :)

Didn't Bob say that he knew where the recordings were?

I know I'm weird, but I loved it when they stretched out of their comfort zones, and I'm a sucker for concept albums.

i doubt they or universal would invest money over something that was never really a big hit at all. just look how paltry the love gun special ed. was and that came out at the height of KISSmania.

Someone tweet it to Paul and say it just got released in Norway. See if he has another Elder inspired panic attack.

Actually don't think many bands sell a lot of copies of deluxe-editions? Usually comes in a limited number and you just have to grab it quick.
Should KISS do 500 copies of an album in the deluxe-edition (and that's booklet, tourstuff, outttakes etc..) , I think they could sell that?

Would it make money? No, but that's not the point with these deluxe-editions - It's a gesture towards the fans who want that particular given some above average attention and are willing to pay extra money.

Also a nice career statement for the band.

See some of the stuff Tull release in the deluxe-format....breathtaking. KISS could do the same.

I agree that they could do it, but I still don't see it happening. The band has been negative about that album for decades and there would be little support from the record company without a financial benefit. It is great to remain hopeful, I wouldn't bet on it coming out.

500 is too few. Pink vinyl Killers was 4000 and that sold out on preorder pretty quick, and it wasn't even sold in the US.

I'm not a big Elder fan but that looks sweet. I would consider buying it if the band ever releases something like this.

Why would they even bother?.. Very few people outside this fanatical forum would buy it. Let's face it, if the Destroyer Resurrected release bombed then this ain't happening.. More chance of a KISS Alive! Deluxe edition happening. At least that's got a chance of selling a decent amount to make it worth producing.

Didn't that one go for like six hundred bucks or something on ebay? It really is gorgeous. I kind of remember it lit up too? Maybe I'm mistaken.

I agree with kiss-1976.

Gene, Paul and even Ace frown upon all things from the "Elder".
….Why would they risk trying to promote something from that era that would probably flop anyway..(?)

I think the fan made "Elder" items are cooler than something KISS would have probably released.

A poster over at kissinUK claims it pulled in 640£ = roughly 900$.
