KISS Coloured Cassettes

Post by KISSMAD »

Queen has greatest hits limited edition coloured cassettes.

Motley Crue has a 40th anniversary cassette box set.

I wonder When KISS will bring out their back catalog on coloured cassettes?

They could have transparent coloured, solid coloured, multi coloured and different colour for each side.

Maybe have coloured case as well.

maybe for the audio sound but not for nostalgic reasons.

Probably the 4 solos then... not interested myself, but it would be a fun collector item.

Yeah, cassettes are kind of a fun blast from the past. My cassette player in my multi-device radio player broke so now I don't have anyway to play them but I will find a way again.

Great, another opportunity for all the fanbois to rebuy the same albums for the 20th time.

Anything in KISS LAND can be dismissed as a waste of money… for the nostalgia effect, it harkens back to a simpler time when a cassette was a compact way to tote around music, before we all carried small computers (cell phones) in our hands.

Plus the cassettes sometimes had cool foldout artwork :)

I mostly associate cassettes with the frustration of driving crappy old cars as an adult. Not the fondest way to think of them, for me.

Terrible format. More re-hashing the same shit over and over. Colored vinyl is bad enough. What's next: commemorative colored 8-tracks? The shipping trucks might as well take these directly to the dump and cut out the middleman.

That Queen cassette thing is totally a KISS rip. They even use the same solo album colors. The Hot Space cover was KISS inspired as well....Dynasty/Solo Albums maybe

Not really, using key colours is a rudimentary design trope to delineate elements in artwork.

If you need some cassettes go to a Goodwill Store and see if they have anything that appeals to you. There are 8-tracks and vinyl there too.

Small independent punk labels love cassette tapes. It always bewilders me. Why not just 7” & 12” ?

The cost and turn around time.

Cassettes are much cheaper and faster.

True that but it seems so silly & effortless. I put out my bands 7” when I was 23 & made $18 K a year. 🤣

Absolutely nowhere. But hey, at least I had a fuckin BLAST 💥 17 to 25… & I’m not a grown-ass adult who’s so insecure that they poke fun at strangers on the Internet. 🌀🌀

Point is: a million-dollar-label &/or band putting out cassettes in 2021 doesn’t make sense.

Vinyl & CD make sense. Oh well. My 2¢.

Collecting in and of itself is justification for collecting. If you look at anything close enough it becomes pointless.

they cost far more than a cdr, and you would have to use cheap type one tape.

at least the 8-tracks would have some different edits on them and odds are they would sound better than the tape used in cassettes now
