Yeah, I saw it going that way too...the short-term fix guitarists and guys who didn't rate their own makeup designs are likely to finish lower, but Paul's likely to finish least-loved of the rest.

Ace was an easy choice.

Paul has certainly tested my faith in recent years, but I prefer to remember him from the mid '70s to the mid '90s, and I'll never not appreciate what he's given me. I've always been on the fence about who's my favourite guy, him or Ace.

Third choice was harder, it could be a shared spot between Bruce and the Erics. Went with Carr this time.

Yeah, I voted for him, Ace and Eric C...Ace can be a dick sometimes, but he comes off as a loveable fuckup more often than not. Bruce has never really put a foot wrong so he got #2. It was a toss-up between the first two drummers TBH for third place, but Peter seems to have got nicer as the years have passed whereas Eric was a good guy from day one.

Agreed -- people often speak well (undeservingly) of the dead and they have their reasons for that. For example, in life, the deceased might've been kind of a pain in the ass. But now that they're gone, so is that irritation and maybe there comes some form of forgiveness out of that absence. With Carr, though, he was spoken well of in his living years. He earned it. Its funny how that can happen in an industry that lives above the law and beyond the social norms. Eric still managed to not become insufferable, even to the fans.

I would put Gene, Paul and Peter in the next tier. Vinnie's definitely last, though Mark should probably be last given his short tenure and limited impact on the band.

Personally, Paul's my favourite member and always will be. I understand the dislike among fans, but he's been my pick since day one of my Kiss fandom.

I pretty much agree with you on personal views. You could argue Mark probably deserves a bit more respect for being apart of what is considerably KISS' biggest song in the 80s. Even if he didn't bring anything to it but his lead. Overall, Paul is still my number one as a band member. Though as an everyday person probably Eric or Bruce.

Just finished watching the Rush documentary and Geddy, Neil, and Alex come off as being completely likable and seem to be people that I would want to be around. In comparison, the gentlemen in KISS (except for the replacement dudes who are hired employees) offer a grand buffet of in-your-face "assholeness." Seriously, when Ace Frehley is the most lovable guy in the offerings, consider the low bar of choices that he competes with and consider how low your expectations may be. Ace does seem to be able to experience joy and occasional playfulness which the others seem to have some deficits with when you consider their notable achievements.

The first person that popped into my mind when I saw the topic was Eric Carr.

Eric seemed like a genuinely nice person who actually appreciated his fans and the position that he had as the drummer for KISS.

My other two votes went to Ace and Peter.
