Paul played it, no? I always thought the series of unison bends was supposed to make people think it was Ace.
It was Vinnie.

I don’t think ANY of them “suck”.
Some may be more inspired than others,
some may simply fit the bill,
and others may be absolutely iconic.
It’s a matter of personal taste.
Yep well said. Add Paul, Rick Derringer, Dick Wagner, Steve Ferris, and Bob Kulick to that list. None of the solos have been horrible. They were all competently played and for the most part fit the song.
Agreed.

There are solos that I don't care for, but none where I think, "that sucks".

Also 100,000 Years to a certain extent.

I think it's the repetition that goes on, and on, and on, and on.
I can’t believe a KISS fan could dislike either of those solos. In regards to Firehouse, it makes the song!

Certainly nothing from Ace. Probably a Vincent or Kulick solo.

That's ok. It's just a different opinion. I've been told before that I'm "not a real Kiss fan" because I don't worship at the altar of the originals. Despite the fact that I own every album and have seen them about two dozen times

That's not the point, but thanks for the info.

To each there own.
I Love(d) it.
I was there and the place exploded!
For a off the top of his head solo: PURE ACE.
They did a second take of the song, different solo: not as good/inspired.

I like his Beth solo. It's better than Bruce's.

Probably my favorite Ace solo. Perfectly phrased and has his signature all over it. Top notch.

Same for 100,000 Years. SO simple with just a single note with the varying note value. But over the rhythm it sounds excellent. Simplicity at its finest. The the noodley back and forth lick is one of my all time favorites.

That's all good and each to theirs. I guess I just prefer a solo with a beginning, middle and end, rather than solos which basically walk around in circles (to my ears). The repetition is like........"enough!"

Every solo on every Ace Frehley solo album post 1986 - they just go nowhere - they're just a bunch of random notes played kinda sloppily

Yeah I see that with some a lot are hit and miss a good example of that is on 2 Young 2 Die, just lazy Ace. Very of its time almost though just flurrying notes but he was always more than that.

There is some awesome ones too though Stranger in a Strange Land being one he absolutely goes to town on... “Now here I come!”

But a hell of a lot are just a mess for Ace’s standards

Name some solos that SUCK

Bang bang you for me, for an album with such great solos this doesn’t do anything for anyone
Solos that suck: Almost all of Vinnie's, Mark's, and Tommy's. Many of Bruce's.

Bruce is a stellar technical guitarist, but in KISS he was rarely creative or interesting.
