Get Down sounds like something KOOL & THE GANG should have released.

Re: Remembering Eric Carr...
November 24th 1991.
I was 13 years old. I was lucky enough to still have all my grand parents and parents around at the time, so apart from our first cat, I'd never really lost anyone close to me. I don't want to trivialize anybody else's experiences, but for me, Eric was my first experience of the shock of the loss of someone who meant a lot to me. I cried my eyes out.

I was 20, had lost both my parents and both sets of grandparents by that point, and still cried my eyes out! It was a huge loss. KISS aren’t just a band. They’re almost like family members. They were with me during all those losses. Their music got me through the tough times and Eric was a massive part of that.Tito wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 2:27 am November 24th 1991.

Hard to believe it was almost 30 years ago. I still vividly remember hearing it on the radio at work. I was instantly numb. My work colleague (who enjoyed KISS to a lesser degree and knew who was who) immediately called the radio station and asked them to play a KISS song as a tribute. 20 minutes later I Was Made For Loving You came on. Idiots!
I went home that evening, blasted the ANIMALIZE concert and wept like a 3 year old girl.

At 20? Man. You haven't had the smoothest ride. It may seem silly to those who don't know, but many of us get what you mean with KISS helping us through tough times, some more so than others. Thank fuck for this band, eh?

It's also the 33rd anniversary of my 1st KISS show... sadly, Eric would die 4 years to the day that I first saw him live.
RIP.

Re: Remembering Eric Carr...
Absolutely. Since I first discovered them in ‘79, KISS have been my only constant. I’ve lost family members, relationships have come and gone, friends, work etc. the only thing that has been with me that entire time is this silly band.

I am gonna crank lots of Eric Carr on the fucking drums today! What a major loss.
As KISS fans, we are blessed that he joined after Peter left. Eric will never be forgotten!

Re: Remembering Eric Carr...
I remember that being the saddest thing about it - the coincidence of someone else dying on the same day detracted from the attention he'd have otherwise received.
Obviously Freddie M''s death was front page news on every newspaper here at the time, and if Eric got mentioned at all it was just as an aside: "Oh, and a member of American rock band Kiss died yesterday too..."

Re: Remembering Eric Carr...
I can remember being excited standing in line to buy tickets to the Palladium show about one year after my first show at MSG in 79. Being pre-internet, there was a lot of mystery around the situation. Eric was a great drummer for Kiss. His style was perfect for the Creatures album. As soon as the needle hit the the record, his drums created a sonic explosion. It was sad to see him be so sick but he is in peace now.

Browsing pictures, I don’t recall seeing this Fox figure when it came out. Really not bad! What was its scale?

A few minutes later, i also came across the very pose in a photo of the real thing:

Re: Remembering Eric Carr...
November 24, 1991 was a particularly traumatic day if you were a rock and roll kid coming up and your 2 favorite bands were Kiss and Queen.
