No wonder KISS has lasted this long.

Had to re read what we typed. I don't see where either of us said KISS will play Dr Love or we think they will play it. He said He'd love to see KISS perform Dr. Love and I agree with him, its one of my favorite songs. There is a big difference between what we would like to see perform and what we think will be performed. So no not kidding, I really would like to see them do that one. Will they, highly unlikely.

Besides Paul grinding it out vocally, that Letterman version of Strutter is not that bad. Certainly not as apocalyptic as some have said. Nice job by Tommy on the leads.

It would simply be dismissed as a TV show performance where it’s widely known that these days most artists aren’t playing/singing live. If it happened at an actual concert it would cause more of a stir. But not on TV. You can give up hoping for it now...

You mock (repeatedly) but you fail (repeatedly) to see this for what it is. Let me simplify it for you; KISS aren’t appearing on AGT to please us diehards. This is an ad for the tour. Play a classic era anthem to entice people to buy a ticket. If they played Say Yeah I bet you’d be amongst the first to say “why the heck did they choose that song?”.

This would be the same for any band. If this was Bon Jovi appearing on AGT to promote an upcoming tour they would most likely play something everybody knows. And if they decided to play something new (if they even have new stuff), people watching would say “I’ve never even heard this song” followed by “Bon Jovi’s new stuff is crap!”

What will Mötley Crüe play when their turn comes to be on TV? Kickstart, Feelgood, Saints, Girls, they aren’t going to rip into Come On And Dance on National Television, but if they did everyone would call it a dumb move!

Eating some SERIOUS CROW right now and I love it because I'm always rooting for KISS.

They played a some in which I'm soooooo over and they absolutely owned the stage , the crowd and I was singing along.

They looked really cool - I get it now.

I thought that was a really gross performance. Yeah it’s a very well worn song with us, but it’s not with the masses which is obviously their target audience for this appearance. How many million people watched this? And that’s just on TV. Add up all the tweets, shares and other social media postings and I’d say it’s mission accomplished.

PS: How great was Gene’s (most likely pre-recorded) voice! “...We’ll drive you crazeheheheheh”

It wasn't bad truth be told. This was a good showing; the band looked and sounded decent. Whenever they do something like this I always find myself hoping someone will see the performance and despite the band not being in their prime, will be curious enough to check out Alive.

They looked good, sounded fine, Paul squawked when he was calling out to the crowd. Being TV I figure it's probably pre-reorded anyway, so either way it was what it was.
