Wendy moore and friends

Post by steveh67 »

Followiing on from the GG Gebert thread.

These people are blood suckers and leachers all the same, regardless of Ace's problems.

Wendy Moore like Gebert tried to cash in on the reunion, nothing more and nothing less.

I think it is kinda shitty that people who were friends and more will dish so much dirt and personal details.

She calls him Ace Freely not three seconds into the video. Why do so many people do that? I sort of get fans doing it, but she lived with the guy ffs.

Yeah...kind of. But remember, Ace was the one that chose to get involved with this type of person in the first place. It's not like they only had a few dates and split. They were an item.

I really enjoyed reading her Into the Void book, I also really enjoyed the Kiss & Tell book

Lots of FAQers say Kiss & Sell is the best Kiss book of text & it's definitely worth reading. But it's sooooooo dry & approximately half of the book is exposition. I enjoyed the finance-related dirt without doubt & there are a couple/few funny stories such as early 80s pre-hair-system Paul standing up pre-flight to tell the other airline passengers to be sure to keep their wigs on tight during the flight as a jab at Gene after his Runaway haircut...But lots & lots (&lots) of the book is just too boring for me to call it the quote unquote best Kiss book because of all the text wasted on far too much boring exposition

I don't think Into the Void or Kiss & Tell are the best either but they're such fun, quick reads

Are they 100% true? I don't know/care, nobody is reading Kitty Kelley books for accuracy either, they're reading them to hear some entertaining dirt which is just what Into the Void/Kiss & Tell provided Kiss/Ace fans

I have no reason to believe that Gordon & Bobby’s book is not 100% true.

I know some of these people and saw some of it first hand, along with a lot of similar events that were not in the book or happened after the book was published.
That IS Ace’s behavior.
In my interaction with him he was always nice and kind to me, but I was not anywhere near as emotionally involved with him as most of the people in this book.
I know, It’s a bitter pill for a “fan” to swallow.
No one is 100% saint or 100% sinner.

What was their real motivation to write the book?
I’m sure they felt justified on some level.
Should it have been published?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

The most offensive thing about this video is the version of T Rex's '20th Century Boy'. Learn to play the fkn riff properly!!! Everyone plays it wrong. It's not a G on the 3rd fret it's an F# on the 2nd fret bent up to a G. I think Ace got that part of the 'Shock Me' riff when it does the same thing from '20th Century Boy'.

(and yes, these people are terrible).

Leeches, sure, but you get what you deserve when you keep such company.

Also, everyone (including KISS) was squeezing cash from the reunion, so……..?

As far as nothing being sacred goes…
—Paul or Gene shit on Ace and Peter = “that’s not fair. P&G are liars anyway.”
—Peter or Ace shit on Paul and Gene = “best books ever. Finally, we hear THE TRUTH!”
—Wendy and others share mostly true stories about Ace = “not fair. Is nothing sacred? How dare they?”

So, only certain people get to speak? And only certain people can be talked about? Interesting.

At the end of the day, she was a drugged up piece of garbage and just about everybody in close proximity to KISS has many terrible sides to them as well. So does any of it matter?

Keyboard player, then a manager had him put up money to start Rock Soldiers Inc fan club and merchandise, only for Ace to completely fuck him out of being a CEO as he was supposed to be, and owed him a ton of money.

As someone who works as a writer, editor and broadcaster, I always notice when people mispronounce and misspell things. But outside of how he pronounced Frehley's name, Morello delivered a spot on, ideal RRHOF speech for Kiss.

The rest of his speech was passionate, heartfelt, and powerful. This made the glaring mistake that much more pronounced in my opinion.

As people pull that speech up years from now, it would have been nice for Tom to get that one rather big detail right--to make sure that history would know how to speak the name of Ace FReelee.

Yeah, the emails were lame. Definitely not book worthy. I did have a good laugh at the part where Crazy Joe Renda relates the story of Peter waking up to getting head, looking under the covers to see who it was, only to be surprised by Ace looking up at him cackling LOL!

I'm not sure I'll even bother with Kiss & Tell More. I'll likely just read Lonely Boy by Steve Jones, and Rotten: No Irish, No Black, No Dogs by John Lydon. John's title is in reference to signs that business would put up.

Which is a very good point. I thought "Into the void" was a shitty book. It wasn't well written . Neither was "Kiss and tell", BUT the stories from the 70s and on were so interesting. And for me it was all news to me at the time I read it. Describing a period when Ace was intersting and important for me, when he became my idol. I already knew Ace was a fuck up before I read Wendy Moore's book. Maybe I would have liked it better if I had read it first, but it didn't tell stories about Ace from a period I was looking up to him.

I dunno...I guess if you're a die-hard you probably shoulda learned how to say the dude's name along the way, but I might give it a pass since I can sorta see it becoming a habit if that's what you grew up calling the guy. Then again, I think I said Freely the first year or two I became a fan, but soon enough caught on and corrected it.

I totally don't get dating the guy for a few years and not knowing his fuckin' name though...

Felicity?....Boy, Ace sure knows how to pick 'em (smh).

"Lighting Lee" looks like he could be Gene's illegitimate son..He and Nick look very similar.

I always thought the photo of Wendy with KISS (in full makeup) was funny.
Paul's expression speaks volumes in that shot.
