Friday, November 12, 2004 1:21:34 PM - Peter Criss pre-KISS Recording from 1966

It had long been thought that Peter Criss had released material prior to the 1971 "Chelsea" album. I'd always heard that his
band, The Barracudas, had cut a 7" single, but for years the details and verification of such a release had eluded me. Until
now. The KISSFAQ is pleased to offer you samples of the two songs released on the Barracudas single in January 1967. For those
who feel that Chelsea was ecletic folksy crap, give these a listen - They're further away from folk!
It's Been So Long
Affection
Both songs were written by Carlos Cancel, arranged by Ted Eddy, and produced by Marty Craft... «Post A Comment»
Thursday, November 11, 2004 8:54:23 AM - Gene Simmons "Biography"
(From Blabbermouth)
"The A&E "Biography" episode on KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons is set to premiere on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at
10:00 p.m. ET.
About the episode: Simmons is the co-founder of KISS, one of the biggest and most successful rock 'n' roll bands in
American history. "Biography: Gene Simmons" reveals how Simmons has managed to outlast, out-think and out-play most other
rock stars. He parlayed his rock 'n' roll success into books, movies, real estate development, TV shows, magazine
publishing, merchandising and his latest project, his first solo album in 25 years, "Asshole".
"Biography: Gene Simmons" takes viewers along with Gene and KISS on tour in Australia and then back to Los Angeles to see
Gene embroiled in the fast-paced world of a solo musician. Viewers also see the album cover being shot by internationally
famed photographer David LaChapelle and sit in on radio shows and on top-secret business meetings. Then obsessive fans,
musicians, and celebrities come out to celebrate Gene's solo album at the first, soon-to-be-annual, "Asshole" party at the
Sunset Strip Key Club. After getting to know Gene, viewers will be surprised by his work ethic, impressed by his energy,
shocked by his opinions, and charmed by his playful spirit. They'll also be touched by the softer side of the
blood-spitting "Demon" — who cherishes every second he spends with his family — Playmate Shannon Tweed and their two
teenaged children, Nick and Sophie"... «Post A Comment»
Thursday, November 04, 2004 5:38:27 PM - Sack Trick "Sheep In KISS Make Up" Tribute CD

Review of the excellent Sack Trick "Sheep In KISS Make Up" Tribute CD...
Since 1997 KISS Army Online's "Music From The Folder" has set the standard for KISS tribute albums. The first time I heard
the original version of that CD it immediately established the benchmark as the best KISS tribute. Up to that point. Since
then, there have been a plethora of tributes. None have stood out as different enough, good enough, or diverse enough. In
fact, none have come remotely near to the standard established by KAOL, for my ears. Until now...

Tuesday, November 02, 2004 2:08:37 PM - Gene Simmons "Letter of the Day"

Guess Gene-O didn't read the first issue of the official KISS Magazine, or simply doesn't care. Biff, lol...
(From KISS Magazine #1 via KISS Online)
KM: What’s your opinion of all of Gene’s outside projects and the way he approaches them?
PS: Gene has the right to do whatever he chooses. Sometimes he likes to compare me or KISS to a jealous girlfriend; it’s
probably to give the impression that he’s doing something that he’s envied for. Most of Gene’s outside projects never
amount to anything, so there’s not a whole lot to be jealous of. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with striking out
when you get up to bat, I just don’t understand pointing to the bleachers every time before you do. It makes me
uncomfortable. For me it’s like seeing a family member do something that you find embarrassing for both of you...
