According to Bruce Kulick, "Upcoming for me in the fall is the UNION tour in Europe. All the dates are not set yet, but I will announce that Fred Coury from Cinderella will play drums with the band. Joining us on bass will be Chuck Garric who played with ESP in Europe this spring. As dates are firmed up I will announce them. ESP (Eric Singer, John Corabi, Chuck, and myself) will play two shows in Mexico City as well in December. So I am looking forward to that trip as well."... «Post A Comment»

Sunday, September 18 @ 06:57:05 - "Gods Of Thunder - A Norwegian Tribute To KISS" News
(From: KISS Army Norway) KISS Army Norway and VME are proud to annonce that "Gods Of Thunder - A Norwegian Tribute To KISS" debuted at #13 on the Norwegian charts. In comperison, Alive III peaked at #15, and as odd as it might seems albums like Creatures Of The Night, Smashes Thrashes and Hits, Animalize and Carnival Of Souls never made such a great chart position as this tribute CD. In April last year Gene Simmons' "Asshole" debuted and peaked at #23 on the Norwegian charts.

KISS Army have once again brought a lots of attention to KISS in Norway. The tribute album got maximum exposure in the media making entertainment headlines on Natinal television, radio and newspapers.

The album consist of chart-topping and award winning bands from Norway including million-selling artist Espen Lind, World Idol winner Kurt Nilsen (who beat US platinum artist Kelly Clarkson in last years final) and Norwegian superstars Wig Wam with a guest apperance by Bruce Kulick. In addition to the music, the CD-cover is quite historic and uniq as the artwork was done by Ken Kelly, the man behind the Destroyer and Love Gun paintings.

Prior to the release, executive procucer Stig Karlsen (KISS Army) claimed that this CD were going to bring tribute CD's to a new level both musically & visually, and judging from the reviews and respons from the fans, he and his team might as well have succeeded.

International fans can now buy the album from KISS Army Norway or VME. Buy CD from KISS Army Norway (Paypal or credit cards) at this location: www.kissarmynorway.com or buy downloads or CD from VME (Payex or credit card) at this location: VME... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, September 15, 2005 18:52:02 GMT - Still no sign of "20th Century Masters Collection Vol 2"...
KISSFAQ originally reported that a second volume of "20th Century Masters" on DVD was due for release on August 30. However, that release date seems to have either been pushed back or cancelled. Some promotional blurb concerning the DVD has been found: "The outrageous antics of Kiss have entered the heavy-metal history books, and their high hair and heavily made-up faces--not to mention their hard-rocking tunes--have enchanted music fans for three decades. This second volume of Kiss hits in the 20TH CENTURY MASTERS SERIES offers viewers the opportunity to see the band in all their glory across five music videos." More as (if) we find out what's going on...

KISSFAQ Says: It'd be nice if for once all of KISS' concept & promotional videos, including the unreleased ones, were put on DVD one collection. Not 5 here, 5 there, some elsewhere, even if the DVDs only cost $5.98. One place. One menu. No stupid transitions. Sheesh... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, September 15, 2005 12:50:25 GMT - Rare Performances To Surface On DVD???
From Bravewords.com) "BW&BK has learned from a KISS insider that several of the band's early performances will be issued soon on DVD. Due for release on DVD is KISS' first Winterland show (recorded pre-January 31st, 1975) which will feature audio commentary from the four original band members (GENE SIMMONS, PAUL STANLEY, ACE FREHLEY and PETER CRISS).

Also coming soon to DVD is a full concert recorded with one camera at The Palladium in New York City on July 25th, 1980 (the first show that introduced drummer Eric Carr to the masses), as well as a black and white video recorded at Coventry. Further details on these releases are expected soon."

KISSFAQ Says: THIS "NEWS" ITEM IS UNCONFIRMED AND IS THUS A RUMOR. Be nice if it happens though!! Especially of note is the part that suggest that the band's first Winterland appearance is to be released considering the known June 1, 1974 video master was thought destroyed in a fire - hopefully someone did make a copy of that. Check out your copy of "KISS Alive Forever" for details on that show and the gem the set may have contained. It's possible that there is confusion and the commonly available 1975 Winterland show is being mentioned... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, September 15, 2005 07:29:12 GMT - KISS Truck appears at Richmond Raceway

Photo by Randy Porter/HSP frm truckseries.com

Kevin Harvick, driving the #47 RaySat/KISS NASCAR Chevrolet, finished 3rd at the Cheerios Betty Crocker 200 at the Richmond International Raceway on September 8, his best finish this year (so far). According to Kevin, "It is really fun to drive a truck as good as out RaySat Silverado was tonight. We dropped back in the field a little when we pitted and started working our way back toward the front. The truck was really fast, we just couldn't get a long enough green flag run there toward the end to get a good run on Todd (Bodine, finished 2nd) and Skinner (Mike, race winner). But we were fast. Randy Goss, David Dollar and everyone on the No. 47 team and at Morgan Dollar gave me an awesome truck to drive tonight. I really had a great time racing the truck. As the race wound down, we all started getting more aggressive and more aggressive and do what you need to do to get by, but at the same time, be smart. We ran out of time to get back up there and race them for win. But it was a good night and a good run for this team. I just want to thank everyone at Chevrolet and Silverado brand for putting this program together. It was cool to have KISS/KISS Army on the truck tonight. It was just fun to be back in the truck series" (truckseries.com)... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, September 15, 2005 06:19:44 GMT - KISS At Columbus' HONDA FEST: Video Footage Posted Online
(From Blabbermouth) "A video clip of KISS performing "Detroit Rock City" on Saturday, September 10 as part of the Honda Fest at the Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus, OH has been posted online at this location. Only Honda factory workers and their families were able to get tickets to this very exclusive KISS show, which marked the band's first full concert performance in over a year. KISS reportedly played to a packed arena with a set lasting over 90 minutes, and the crowd "loved every minute of it."

After the show, KISS frontman Paul Stanley summed it up, "Doing a kick-ass show like last night with one rehearsal after such a long break, proves to us once again that we are not only in KISS, but KISS is in us."

If you're wondering why this unique KISS show took place in Ohio, that's because in 1977, Honda formed a partnership with Ohio that changed the face of the automotive industry. The Honda Motor Company today has nearly 16,000 employees in Ohio, which is two-thirds of Honda's total U.S. employment."... «Post A Comment»

Thursday, September 15, 2005 04:39:58 GMT - More Gene Simmons Projects: Poker & Golf...
(From GeneSimmons.com) "On my way to New York with my partner to present a New Venture to 1,000 Investment types. Also, happy to report that 'GROUPIES," a project/story I developed first for New Line Cinema (that came back in turnaround), then set up at MTV for a Movie Of The Week, has just come back to me. It is being eyed for a motion picture. We will go out and pitch this in the coming weeks.

Meeting today for a new Venture with my partners, CLEAR CHANNEL. The new venture is, GENE SIMMONS PRESENTS ROCK STAR POKER. I was recently invited to play in the Vegas poker event, and while there, came up with a new way to play the game and a new way to present it, market it and brand it. This will be like no poker game you ever saw and will be nationwide.

The other New Venture, as you might have guessed is, GENE SIMMONS PRESENTS ROCK STAR GOLF. Golf has always struck me as a long yawn. This new version, will make everyone take notice. I basically approached it with the notion that, if you could care less about golf, what would it take to get you interested enough to attend/watch a golf event. It's going to be a TV show, a live event (held at different places around the country, simultaneously) and, of course, branded. Details to come."... «Post A Comment»

Tuesday, September 13, 2005 21:35:06 GMT - New Peter Criss Song-title?
"Space Ace" cowritten by Peter and Mark Montague, who's been working with him on his new album, is a song that was recently published by Peter Criss. Wonder if this one will be included on the forthcoming Peter Criss solo album.

Hmm, wonder what it's about =) Interestingly, during the "Psycho Circus" era Peter (co)wrote a song, "Space Fever" which he thought would be a good song for Ace. Peter mentioned in 1998: "I actually just told him about it and he loved it" (Go Figure, 1997). Nothing ever came of the song or the collaboration idea, so one may well wonder whether there's been some recycling going on... «Post A Comment»

(From petercriss.net) "Just when I think I am better with 9/11. It hits me like a ton of bricks. It's that time of the year, September 11th. I go right back to the hurt and loss of the innocent souls who were murdered that day. As a New Yorker and American, we grieve. I and my family send our prayers to the families of those who lost their lives trying to save the lives of others, you are the true heroes. May God look down on you with all His love.

Thursday, September 01, 2005 5:20:58 AM - Hurricane Katrina...
What KISS may or may not be doing, or should be doing, is totally irrelevant in the face of the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The untold number of lives that have been affected by this tremendous natural disaster should give pause to those of us not affected to give thanks for our own well-being. More so, as Americans we should all be doing as much as possible to help those agencies directly involved in the support of the survivors. Everything possible must be done to ease the pain and suffering being repeated thousands of times over across much of the Gulf Coast. In some communities you may have churches and other trustworthy organizations raising funds and/or supplies for donation to the effort. Give what you can, to those organizations of repute - Be it a single dollar, or a can of food, everything adds up if everyone contributes. Give blood. That's always beneficial, not only in the face of disasters. Donate to reputable charities/organizations, such as:

American Red Cross 1-800-HELP-NOW

The Salvation Army 1-800-SAL-ARMY

Catholic Charities 1-800-919-9338

United Methodist Committee on Relief 1-800-554-8583

Episcopal Relief & Development 1-800-334-7626

Also refer to FEMA Charity Tips.

At the very least, offer a prayer to the people affected by this disaster, their loved ones and friends, those displaced by the event with no way of returning to homes that may or may not still be habitable, and especially to those suffering the torment of not knowing what has happened to their families... «Post A Comment»

KISSFAQ Says: There's still no confirmed date for the release of this product, so when it gets released is anyone's guess. I hope that the editing doesn't cause epileptic seizures like "Symphony" did, and that there is a menu-option to just play the show without the interuptions. It's interesting to note that "Psycho Circus" seems to have been cut from the release - it was included at both shows recorded for the DVD. Also, it is rather sad to note that only "Love Her All I Can" and "Tears Are Falling" have never been featured on a KISS live release, especially when "All The Way" was performed during the tour. The DVD was apparently recorded at Nissan Pavilion, Washington DC July 24, 2004 and Verizon Wireless Amp, Virginia Beach, VA July 25, 2004. See the "Rock The Nation" tour stats page for the sets performed those nights.

Guess, maybe I'm an asshole too... «Post A Comment»
