Tuesday, July 30, 2002 7:25:12 AM - KISS Touring In Late 2002... NOT!
Silly season is upon us. Rumors on a certain mailing list suggested, from a seemingly credible source (rather than the usual
"my sister's uncle's son's friend's sister's mother whose friend's brother's daughter, who scrapes the corns of the woman, whose
daughter's friend who cuts the hair of the brother of the assistant to...), suggested that KISS were gearing up for a tour
with Eric and Tommy with new makeup/costumes in late 2002. THIS IS FALSE. Gene addressed the issue on KISSONLINE.COM
stating in response to the rumor post, "Here's another example and proof positive why I hate the internet. Not true". CHECK
KISSONLINE for latest official news concerning any plans the band may have. Part of the problem with the internet is the
speed with which information can be disseminted and how quickly rumor can be picked up, embelished, and seemingly become fact when
being reported elsewhere. Then people get pissed at the band. Naturally, some won't believe Gene, the conspiracy theorists
who leave the band in a no win situation. «Post A Comment»
Tuesday, July 30, 2002 7:25:12 AM - "The Very Best Of KISS" & KISS...
As usual, there's a lot of bitching about the new KISS compilation "The Very Best Of KISS" to be released by Universal Music
on August 27th. According to Gene Simmons, on his official website GENESIMMONS.COM,
"this is a decision by Universal. They have a contractual right to do this and nothing you say will change their mind". This
is pretty much what I mentioned in the news bit on 7/22... «Post A Comment»

Monday, July 22, 2002 8:51:31 AM - New Universal KISS Compilation...

A new KISS compilation will be released by Universal Music on August 27th. The album will feature: Strutter ·
Deuce · Got To Choose · Hotter Than Hell · C'mon And Love Me · Rock And Roll All Nite (Live) ·
Detroit Rock City (Edit) · Shout It Out Loud · Beth · I Want You · Calling Dr. Love · Hard Luck Woman ·
I Stole Your Love · Christine Sixteen · Love Gun · New York Groove · I Was Made For Lovin' You ·
I Love It Loud · Lick It Up · Forever · God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II. Full details on the discography
page, HERE. Before KISS fans start bitching about "yet another compilation", it
should be remembered that KISS are no longer signed to Universal Music so there could be several reasons for the release of
this album. One possibility is that KISS no longer has control of their back catalog, or that Universal simply has the right
to issue a "best of" package. One should wonder whether this will leave the band able to release "Alive IV" on some other label with new material or
whether that album, which was originally due in March 2000, has now been killed off completely. THAT IS CONJECTURE! I certainly
hope that Gene and Paul haven't lost the rights to their catalog, one of the biggest by any band on any label though the release
is interesting with there being several recent reissues of "Greatest KISS" in some markets. The majority
of songs included on the album were singles (or B-sides)... «Post A Comment»
Monday, July 22, 2002 5:15:06 AM - KISS Alive IV Delayed Again?
KISS' "Alive IV", which was due for release in August, has been removed from CDNOW's advance orders page indicating that
it may have been delayed yet again. There is no official confirmation of this yet, though it is known that KISS had considered
recording two new studio tracks for inclusion on the album. Gene Simmons had mentioned two song titles, "Wait" and "All The Kids
With Painted Faces", on his website, but no official intention for including these, apart from simply demoing them, as been
made. With KISS currently without a record label, following their departure from Universal, much could be in flux... «Post A Comment»
