The "Ace Frehley Les Paul" was a gift from Frehley to Les in celebration of his 90th Birthday this week. Aside from his love of the Les Paul guitar and the honor awarded Ace when his own signature model was issued in 1997, Frehley is a great admirer of the man himself. According to Sanctuary the release of KISS' "Rock The Nation" DVD, filmed during last summers tour, is "coming soon." It's listed with no release date prior to stuff coming out on 6/28 and will be a 2-dvd set. Blabbermouth has suggested an October release date... «Post A Comment»

Friday, June 10, 2005 6:40:01 PM - "MTV Unplugged" DVD getting reissued
The currently out-of-print "MTV Unplugged" DVD is getting reissued shortly. Some online vendors show a US release date of 7/26/05 and Japan (Universal UIBL-1010) 7/27. The DVD sometimes sold for $100 on Ebay, so there's obviously demand for it... «Post A Comment»

Well the order of hardcover versions of the "KISS Album Focus" Volume I, that I had ordered for the New York Expo (May 14), has finally arrived. I guess that explains my absence from the event. Sheesh... Signed copies are available via PayPal for $30, which is over $3 cheaper than the lowest price on Amazon. This is the last time I'll be selling direct from the website and these are the only copies I'll be signing.

"KRR: When Kissfaq placed an add on its site "looking for a co-webmaster," I thought "why not contact Julian, simply because we know each other from the internet since 1999 and we seems to have the same kind of interest in "KISS and Related Recordings" Instead of competing and repeating much of the same information, it’s much better to work together to inform our visitors on all Kiss Related Releases and rare solo and related demos...

KISSFAQ: At a time when I have less and less time to devote to tracking down the related discographies, I felt it was time to bring someone on board to help with that aspect of the website’s information – I’ve neglected it for too long. I’ve long been a fan of Jelle’s "KISS & Related Recordings" website, and the information it contains, and respect and understand the hardwork that has gone into compiling and organizing the information. A big "thank you" to Jelle for all of the hardwork he’s put into site in the past, and for moving it over onto the KISSFAQ.

About Jelle/KISS Related Recordings:
"After discovering the internet summer 1996 I thought 'why not build a website by myself' . Most KISS sites informed about the same kind of issues, so I was thinking about something original, like starting a website on the material that I collect (since 1983), such as Kiss Related album releases and demo’s, all I knew of at the time, starting with Wicked Lester, Chelsea, Lyn Christopher, to Desmond Child, New England, to the large amount of 1980s releases, which are in someway related to Kiss. With about 10 tribute albums in my collection (1997) there also was a start for a Tribute album section as well as for other Kiss covers. At the time there was no website which had a pure issue on Kiss Related Releases... (except for a very first version of KISSfaq --- which merely summed up bootleg albums, starting with Wicked Lester).

The first version of the KRR website was on summer 1997 (www.kisstip.nl).

Because of the Dutch mess of server-providers at the time, the site had to remove 4 times, before it finally got his own server URL at www.kiss-related-recordings.nl June 2000. With the help and info of a lot of people around the world the site became as it is...

Today it’s nearly unbelievable how many Kiss Related albums are released, as well as the large amount of Tribute albums and hundreds of other KISS cover versions.

Together we will keep to inform you about all Kiss related and co-written songs, guest appearances on other recordings, Kiss Related discography and demo recordings, Kiss tribute albums and other coverversions. This time with more music-samples and interviews with musicians involved with Kiss related albums..."

Music. As previously reported, footage from the concert will be shown as part of the one-time-only event being staged at select Regal, United Artists and Edwards Theatres across the country on Monday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m.

A spectacular night of music and comedy to support the families of troops that have been wounded or have lost their lives in our defense, the live private military event drew over 44,000 attendees. (From Blabbermouth/) "On March 22, 2005, KISS frontman Paul Stanley presented several Hazelton brand band and orchestra instruments to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. As an endorsee of one of SMC's (Samick Music Corp.) instrument brand, Silvertone, Stanley wanted to take part in the donation of another SMC's brands instrument, Hazelton, for placement in schools that are in need of assistance with continuing music programs. Stanley was instrumental in bringing SMC together with the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. Stanley said, "School music programs, exemplified by the work of Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, give young people at risk a road that can lead them away from the problems and temptations that surround and beckon daily, giving them a chance to avoid the roads that at best, lead nowhere. Knowing firsthand what music can make possible, I fully support these efforts."

The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation's purpose, as stated on their web site, is to "support music education and its many benefits through the donation of new and refurbished musical instruments to underserved school and community music programs and individual students nationwide.
