Monday, April 29, 2002 1:35:20 PM - Ace Frehley Birthday Bash 2002
There's been a lot of mostly negative reports concerning the Ace Frehley Bash on Saturday, and no doubt it would seem that for now Ace is no longer interested in working in KISS. Deja Vu, 1982. However, close Ace pal Eddie Trunk has put his report of the event online. Predictably, this has an pro-Ace bias, but that is natural and will happen from whomever is reporting: "SATURDAY began with my appearence at the Ace Birthday Bash in the afternoon. Let's be honest here, anything that goes on like this is for one reason, to make money. That's why EVERYBODY does it. If you went to this thinking you were going to sit and chat with Ace over birthday cake, well I have a bridge to sell you!!!" You can read Eddie's full report, HERE...«Post A Comment»

Thursday, April 25, 2002 9:27:45 AM - KISS/Gene demoing new songs?
(From: genesimmons.com) According to Gene, "Just came back from putting down vocals on a new tune called 'WAIT.' Very excited about it. In two weeks or so, will do a demo of another new song called 'ALL THE KIDS WITH PAINTED FACES'". It is not clear who is demoing this material, Gene with extras, for some other project, or as part of a "KISS" project. Demoing, also, doesn't mean that the stuff will get used. But in conjunction with Paul recently stating that they were considering going into the studios with Ezrin it would seem that the music isn't dead yet. Please, keep in mind that any KISS plans may be tentative. Cutting demos, for whatever reason, is one thing - fully recording songs or albums is another matter. It should still be exciting though, regardless...«Post A Comment»

Monday, April 22, 2002 2:15:18 PM - KISSFAQ/KISSOnline Mention in Discoveries Magazine...
Well, I knew this would be appearing, but didn't know when. In the May (#168) of Discoveries Magazine, the "Stanley The Parrot" acetate story from the 2000 KISS Buterfield's Auction is the lead-off article on Robin Platt's "Collector Stories" column. Kinda funny really. You can find the article on page 26. I picked up copies of the magazine at Tower Records, so they may stock it in your area...«Post A Comment»

Monday, April 08, 2002 6:06:59 AM - "Kiss Alive IV" Coming This Summer ...
(From Launch.com via Yahoo) It looks like the long-awaited Kiss live album will finally be released. LAUNCH has learned that Alive IV, which was expected to come out when Kiss began its Farewell tour in March 2000, is in the pipeline for this summer, with August 20 rumored as the street date. It's unclear whether or not the album will be issued under the Mercury label, or another imprint in the Island/Def Jam group.

Singer-guitarist Paul Stanley told LAUNCH about his frustration in not having released the album yet. "Kiss Alive IV is really sitting and waiting for its time to come, and it definitely will come," he said. "There was a significant amount of red tape and business complications, which are totally contrary to the idea of rock 'n' roll. I'm in a rock 'n' roll band to play rock 'n' roll, not to sit across from somebody at a desk and try to negotiate a deal. That being said, I will sit at the desk as long as necessary to make sure that everybody gets what they're due."

There's no word on where or when the next round of Kiss Farewell tour dates will take place... «Post A Comment»
